Nothing special here, just your neighborhood corner store. This store has gone through some changes…read moreover the years, but has remained dependable for the folks of the neighborhood. Things are over priced, great drink and lotto selection and your everyday items available as well (toilet paper, dog/cat food, milk, eggs, etc.). The comforters are usually branded and of high quality. Most of my comforters I have bought are from here. Over the last 2 to 3 years I have ventured out but haven't been able to match the high quality and the brand at Marshall's. I did ship by a coue of times here but wasn't lucky to find a good deal. Make frequent visits and go window shopping frequently to find your deals. Venture walking in the mall during the winter rather than home.

The HomeGoods part has a lot of good stuff. Service was good. This is Marshall's, so value is decent. I think their prices for the HomeGoods part was a bit expensive for stuff not really worth it, but we cannot get away from the inflation and tariffs, but Marshalls/HomeGoods should think twice about the prices they place on certain cheap items.

This Hannaford takes some getting used to. It's not organized the same way as most of the other…read moreHannaford's in the area, and it's pretty cramped in many spots. On the right sight as you walk in, the departments are in a different order than you'd typically expect - first bakery, then deli, and produce in the back. The produce space is limited, and they were missing some items I can easily find in their other stores. The checkout area is another busy and cramped spot, and if you use the self-checkout area, there's not a lot of distance between the stations and room for your carts. Apart from that, it's going to be a basic Hannaford product and price-wise. I don't know if they have the space to do it, but this store could definitely benefit from an upgrade.

I've never been concerned with the cleanliness inside the building nor have I encountered cluttered aisles. I usually notice trash here and there on the outside, but nothing big (still, should be tended to). Today was particularly BAD. I didn't have my phone with me or would have a taken photos. The "contact us" feature on their site is useless for submitting information such as this. A supervisor was watching over and assisting an approximately 16-year-old clerk at our register. It was immediately apparent that the clerk was in training as the supervisor occasionally offered encouragement and instructions on the use of the register. As the clerk received the cash for our purchase, the supervisor printed the receipt, placed it for the clerk to see, and called attention to the amount on the receipt that would be the proper amount of cash to return to the customer for change. That amount was $2.61. The clerk had no problem with removing two $1 bills and two quarters but began to hesitate as she retrieved a penny. As the clerk continued to gaze at the till, the supervisor pointed to the dimes and said something. What struck me was, with plastic credit/debit cards taking over our lives, new generations are no longer dealing with cash and there is a lessened need for them to understand how to make change or recognize the different coin values. I was previously surprised when I had heard that cursive writing was no longer being taught in schools, and now I'm shocked to see our future leaders not knowing the value of coins. All of that aside, the shopping experience was very good. Plenty of goods on the shelfs, well organized and a clean environment. But you still must decide for yourself if the value meets your needs.

However, if you want sheets or comforters, Homegoods has a much better selection. Four stars are given instead of five because the shoe department is not nearly as good as it used to be. Also, the jewelry department is not what it was 20 years ago. There is much more low quality costume/trendy jewelry available and less sterling silver and gold. In addition, they used to have quality wrist watches and pearls. The vast amount of Halloween items struck me as odd today. I did not realize that there was this much interest. Do many people have Halloween themed parties and need stem glassware embellished with skeletons and black spiders? I appreciate decorating for Fall but Halloween?
