It was the dough that just took me out. There was something unique in the dough that I couldn't place. It was light and flaky, the filling wasn't too sweet. It was perfect. I returned the following weekend on the hunt for my new favorite cherry danish. Unfortunately they did not have them. Fortunately there was a Swedish pistachio cardamom bun and Wow! It was absolutely amazing. I don't know for sure but I believe the flavor I was lusting after in the cherry danish is the heavenly flavor of cardamom. I quickly forgot about my old love and fell deeply in love with the pistachio bun. It was absolutely amazing. It was sweet and savory. I've never tasted anything like it. I'd watch Fox 29 Buffalo often because the best cartoons were on this channel after school and on Saturday mornings. I'd sing along to the jingle while watching the commercial. Well, the jingle and commercial are now a fond memory, except when I sing it. However, Tops Friendly Markets are still alive and kicking! A couple of weekends ago, after having been in Niagara Falls for a couple of hours, I needed to get grocery items before checking in to the hotel. I saw this Tops as I was heading over to Duff's for a late lunch. It was the perfect place to shop. There is a lot of parking in this lot. This Tops also has a gas station across from the store. I parked and walked in to check out the store. This supermarket has a recycle centre to the right of the main entrance. It's good to know. I grabbed a shopping cart and began to browse. It's a cool supermarket. Items are nicely stacked. It's clean. I saw vending machines that sold lottery tickets. Cool and different! I needed some fruit. I found pineapple chunks that were discounted. Perfect! The produce section was awesome. The fruit and veggies were fresh and in great condition. I was happy with getting a couple of lemons. I got some pop. It had a good deal on both bottled and canned pop. I was happy that I drove across the border. I knew that I couldn't drink it all, so I took some home. I hadn's seen RC Cola in eons! The beverages at this store are great. You can find everything from Canada Dry cherry ginger ale, to Snapple in both regular and sugar-free versions. Yay! I liked the jam and honey sections. The former had Smuckers sugar-free jam varieties in squeeze bottles. I was impressed. The latter had raw sugar that I like in squeeze bottles, too. I was a happy camper. I decided to use the self-checkout kiosk. Mine wasn't co-operating for some reason. An attentive male staffer came over to help out without my even saying a word. He entered a special code and the kiosk worked. Service was that prompt at a self-checkout area. Wow! The kiosks accept credit and debit cards. It liked my Canadian credit card. I paid, bagged my items with my own reusable bags, and left. It's a great grocery store. If I had stayed longer in Niagara Falls, I would have hauled more items or had revisited this store. (143)

I don't know what time it opens every day, but it closes at 1 AM They have a large and I mean a large variety of snacks and things. A lot more than you'd find at your regular convenience store like 7 Eleven Lots of pop, milk, juice, cold, and warm Lots of snacks, tons of candy, it's my kind of store. Right now, they don't take Benefits cards ( Food Stamps), but hopefully in the very near future they will start. The gentleman working was very nice. Prices are not bad for a store like that. Some things are quite expensive, but other things are pretty good. All I know is it's quite big inside bigger than you would expect a small market to be. Perfect for having to run in and grab that last-minute thing that you need to cook something or snack or something. It would be nice if they were open all night, but unfortunately, they close at 1 AM. They also carry hookahs, really nice tea sets , and some other things over in that section. Apparently a big cart of boxes of items to refill the shelves had hit an aisle box. First, we heard nothing. Within a few second however, we heard laughing, then "let me take a picture!". Here we have store employees hitting their cart in the aisles, not caring what had happened and JOKiNG about their on-the-job mishap! I know you need employees BUT you don't need people working in your stores who have the common sense of a teenager, and the mind and reaction of a 3 year old! When I looked around the corner, they were giggling and laughing like kids, trying to clean the mess of the broken glass and its contents all over. Nothing warned customers to keep away, and nothing was placed there afterwards of any caution of a wet floor. The way those two employees were smiling and laughing, you'd think they crashed their car into a house and were only concerned of getting a picture of the scene before they ran away, laughing all the way home!!

And like many essential businesses that remain open during this quarantine, they are short-staffed. At one entrance to the store, an employee wipes down shopping carts with disinfectant, completely. At the other entrance are clean carts, for anyone not wanting to wait for a sanitized cart to dry. Or, as in most stores, you can help yourself to disinfectant wipes for carts and hands, which is great for the cart I wheeled in from the parking lot. I like this Tops.
