Then I noticed they had Chambersburg peaches on sale before we left town for $1.49a pound. Grabbed some of those, again half expecting that despite the Chambersburg name, they would be mushy and flavorless. Wrong again, juicy with that nice peach smell, they are wonderful. If I lived nearby, this would be my store. Easy to get to both driving as well as the bus. Plus, this store has my favorite mustard, Nance. Every time I have shopped here, I have walked away happy.

The layout is a little different from other locations as well. The reason why I rated this location as 3 stars (and not lower) is because the staff is very kind and helpful. I experienced great customer service at this location. Overall, even though it is closer than other aldi locations, I probably will not come back to this location to do my weekly shopping. I would come back if I needed to pick up an item or two in a pinch.

Are they about to close this store? That would be an improvement. I feel that Giant Eagle corporate simply has no self-respect, to allow this store to continue to operate the way it does with their name on it. I will never go back to this store, except for the Pharmacy, and then probably just until I find someplace else. The Pharmacy is good, I will give it that. Clearly the mis-manager has no input into the running of the pharmacy. So there's that. Seriously, this is the worst Giant Eagle you are likely to find. The worst I have ever been in, and I've been in many. In fact, right after this review I will slice my "advantage" card in two and write of Giant Eagle for good. I have Aldi, I have Trader Joe's, I have Sam's Club, etc. I am not stuck for grocery shopping and I feel there is no reason to ever shop there again. And this isn't just a one-off. Yesterday, I ran in for 2 items and a guy was panhandling in the store approaching myself and 2 other women for money. When brought to the managers attention (tall guy, white/gray hair) I was told well he's in here every day. So that makes it okay? I often find myself there on my way home from work for essentials but also some amazing deals. They have great customer service and specials to keep up with the larger chains. For example, their 5 fo $19.99 deal. Selected meat and frozen items, mostly well over the $4 mark individually, can be mixed and matched and as long as you buy 5, the cost collectively is $19.99. It usually means I get at least one of the items for free. The selection changes daily but I've purchased steaks, burgers, ground meat and any number of frozen items (pizza, fries, burritos) to stock up cheaply. They also have special two day deals on Thursdays and Fridays that are often unbeatable. And let's not forget Wacky Wednesdays! They may not have the longer hours or wide selection on specialty food items that the larger stores do, but they more than make up for it with their hometown feel.

Instead of having flowers "Daisies" which was offered by the cake dept. there are colorful balloons all over the cake. So now the cake looks like a child's birthday cake and not what I asked and PAID for. This must happen often because the woman in the bakery that helped me knew exactly what to say without a second thought "$10.00 off or you can talk to the manager".
