DOLLAR DEAL (Blake Food Inc.) is a popular dollar store, discounted store, grocery store, and home decor store located only a few short walking distance from the Euclid Avenue subway station (A, C line). The store has two large floors (ground floor and basement floor). This is the largest store of its kind among so many small size dollar stores in this residential neighbourhood (East New York) right by the Queens, New York.
I shopped by here for many small party items today. The section of items for the parties and occasions of a variety of celebration for your friends and family members here is quite complehensive and at several lanes. I purchased the colored feathers ($1.29 each), artificial rose petals ($1.29 each), scissors ($1.19), binder clips ($1.09), wrist jewelry ($0.99), and fancy doilies (gold color, $1.09) for my upcoming party. In addition, I also purchased a 10 packs of white cotton wash cloth ($4.99). This means each new washcloth is only 50 cents! (I bet you can not buy it any cheaper even at the Salvation Army stores in this entire borough!) (See my attached photos below. I attached the receipt because you will never believe what I am stating here until you see it in your very own eyes.)
The employees here were all very friendly and helpful.
The cat here was also very cute, sweet, and friendly, too. I pet her for about 10 minutes until a little child so carelessly chased her away.
I do not recommend you visiting this not-so-good neighbourhood (never walk after sunset here) but if you do so during the day, DOLLAR DEALS is a very cool place to get your last minute shopping done, without going into the big discount stores, such as Jack's and Jack's 99 Cents (I love their stores!), in Manhattan, New York.
PS. The large empty parking lot across the Euclid Avenue subway station (The final stop of the C line subway) is open for the locals' flea market all year long except freezing cold months, according to them. You might want to check it out if you are into this kind of treasure hunting.
PPS. If you are a professional photo journalist or an artistic photographer, who want to take pictures of the Muslim ladies in black Burka (Muslim female's outfit, which covers her entire body, except showing their eyes with small skinny slit), this is one of the best neighbourhoods in the entire New York City for you. It is so artistically eye-catching, exotic, and strange to see them in such solid black full-body outfit in the middle of the extreme hot boiling summer days of over 90F degree, walking with their husbands, who wear the extremely paper-thin and pale or pure white "comfortable summer outfit" on the street in this particular neighbourhood. It was 86F degree this afternoon and I saw several of them like that on the streets and at this discount store today (2018.0602). I am a visual artist and also into the world of fashion design. I, too wear mostly black and white formal outfits (mostly tuxedo and formal black suits with elaborate designer vests) all the time. So, what they wears is an interesting subject matter to my creative inspirations.
