Oh my God I feel so bad for the people at the back of the line he spent almost 20 minutes on one customer. If you're going to rent a car in Austin and you don't want to spend two hours getting it, use rocket to and pick a different car company to rent from. And don't pick thrifty do the same thing. Loooooooong line. Understaffed. Destroying my vacation plans for today. Plus, my back is killing me from standing here so long.

No lines anywhere else. Photo doesn't even show the whole line. Just one person working at Dollar. The slightly lower price doesn't justify this awful service.

Total Garbage. I wish I could give 0/5. First time rental with Dollar but will also be my last time. Booked a full size sedan at DAL airport and planned to return to AUS airport. Original plan was to fill the tank and return with full tank of gas. We were given a 2021 Camry (2.5L FWD, 15.8 gallon tank) which looks very old w/ 37000+ mileage. The minute I got on the car, I realized the tank was at least 2 gallons (about 7/8) from full. We decided not to waste time reporting the missing gas since it's probably only cost extra $5 and we don't want to waste time go back to rental office in the chilly wind (Dallas is 12F today due to extreme weather). When I brought the car at AUS airport, I have to waited in the car for 5 minutes before a guy come by to check the car. The guy was wearing earbuds and didn't say anything till he showed me a receipt with $120 extra refueling charge. I immediately realized I forgot to refill the tank which probably due to my tiredness. "But what! $10/gallon penalty with 12 gallon usage?". Since I was not doing this intentionally and I was not in a rush to catch a flight, I told the guy I can simply drive that car out and refill it. He said this rental ticket is closed and he cannot let me drive out to refill. He mentioned I chose the "full tank before return" option, the penalty will be $10/gallon. I asked him why don't let me know before closing ticket? I was just outside the car 3ft from this guy while he did all his checks. A kind reminder "You sure you want to return the car without full tank? " would avoid the penalty. With some debating, he punt the ball and ask me to talk with his manager. Two managers(Patrick and Kevin if I don't remember wrong) made same cliche and insist closed ticket cannot be changed and I have to pay $120 penalty. At this time I decided to pay my mistake, because I did forget to refill the tank. However, I told them the car was not full tank (~7/8, see my photo 1) at the beginning, and I returned with 3/8(see my photo 2), so a total use of around 1/2 tank, how could that be 12 gallon usage when Camry only has 15.8 gallon tank? I showed managers the photos I took and they began to punt the ball to DAL dollar and said I had to talk with DAL dollar on the non-full tank issue. Are't you guys under the same company. I tried to cal DAL site but the phone always on Robot and no way to find a representative. After punting the ball to DAL, those two managers left and insist on charging $120. I won't let this slide, if they play mean to me, why should I play generous to them? Photo 3 clear shows that I drove 256 miles, the statistics showed 2021 Camry has combined MPG ~31. I was drving almost all highway(from Dallas to Austin) without any traffic jam. Even I used the combined 31, 256/31=8.25 gallon. So either way, by using my photos or easy math, I would never use 12 gallon or 3/4 tank. That much money isn't important to me at all. I'm purely irritated by Dollar's stupid policy and managers/employee's attitude. This dispute can actually stop at any stage below: 1. Company remove ridiculous high refuel penalty or reduce the penalty. Instead of charging $10/gallon (4x of market price of Austin/TX), totally unreasonable. 2. The guy who check the car just give me a kind reminder. Don't print receipt and give me a chance to fill the tank and drive back. 3. Managers hide their arrogancy and show some generousity. 4. Managers show some responsibility and integrity and don't over count gas usages. This is the first time I'm writing a bad google review. It will also be my first ever post on yelp. Maybe Dollar doesn't care at all since they've already got 75% 1-star on yelp and 50% 1-star on Google. By any means, avoid Dollar! Same might apply to Hertz and Thrifty.

Zak was extremely helpful, professional, and communicated everything clearly from start to finish. The checkout process was quick and timely, and he went above and beyond to explain things I didn't fully understand without ever making me feel rushed. Because of Zak's outstanding customer service, I'm officially a customer for life. I'm a co-parent and travel to Austin every other month, and Fox will continue to be my go-to rental company because of experiences like this. Please keep Zak around give him a raise, recognition, whatever you need to do because he is awesome and will absolutely continue bringing in repeat business. I wish i could give 0 stars but 1 is the only on Yelp. We booked a car through wisecars.com (car…read morebroker) and then they said we had to pick up the car from fox rent a car. It took us more than 30 minutes to get our car from the fox rent a car. First off, we reserved a Kia Sportage online and paid for it. However, when we got to the booth, the representative kept telling us we booked a Nissan Kick. And then, he said that car wasn't available either and that we can only rent us the Dodge charger which was a sedan. It newly saying is roomy and it would have plenty of space for our things. Which was bull! When we asked for a SUV, he said he had a grand Cherokee but it would cost us$20 more per day. It was so frustrating. He wasn't trying to work with us. I thought he was being rude and took advantage of us. We ended up taking the dodge because we didn't want to pay more. By the way, it wasn't roomy at all. It was cramped inside the car with the car seat, diaper bag, and me in the back with the baby. We were so mad. We complained to wisecars.com about our situation and they said they would email fox rent a car. They got back to us and said that fox rent a car actually upgraded us to that sedan. How was that an upgrade from an SUV? I wish I read the reviews for this rental car company before we went there. Don't rent from these guys. They don't care about you.
