Very straight to the point here at Alamo rent a car at the Austin airport. Conceirge lady was pleasant. Our car concierge was straight forward as well. Since there were no economy cars at the ready, we received a free upgrade to a compact car. The chosen car was 90% clean, save for the rims and tires. Inside was exquisite however. The car drove smoothly without any issues. Returning was a breeze. Drive up, drop off, scan the car in and then you're ready to go. I love the no fuss, no hassle of this place.

Great experience with Alamo. I only rent from either Alamo or Enterprise and this rental did not disappoint. Landed around midnight and only 1 person working (Gary) so we did have to wait as there were 2 parties ahead of us. Check in process with Gary was pretty smooth, no obnoxious upselling, just gave license and credit card and was on my way to pick a car upstairs. I had reserved an economy and when we got upstairs the rep gave us an option for an upgrade of a Nissan Rogue Sport. Gas is cheap in Texas so why not right? Car was clean, super smooth to drive and very spacious. Drop off was just as easy and even quicker. Pulled up to the drop off lane and the rep walked around and checked the gas level and we were off to the terminal!

Mileage time of damage

We rented a small car for two days from Alamo, when got there they said they didn't have anymore small cars so gave us a ford flex for no extra charge. Which was great! We loved the car, the service was great. 60 days later we get a $2200 bill for "damages" and pictures attached with circles where you can't see any damage. Because we know we did not damage the car we did some research, finding out that in a picture they sent us when the damage occurred was 52,511.5. Our receipt shows we used it from 53,000 to 53,100 so the damage was clearly prior to us using it. Called to resolve, they put us on hold for 20 minutes and apparently closed, it just hung up on us. An update on this review, it was resolved BUT we got ZERO apologies, only one person we spoke to was personable or kind. Everyone else, very dismissive, not one email was personal. The final email stating they have made the decision to take care of the costs of the claim but still leaving in our account that we caused damage. My fiance is very unhappy with that fact considering it WASNT during the time we had the car. The man she spoke to trying to get clarity kept interrupting and saying we needed it in writing when we have sent multiple emails and made phone calls. ITS ALREADY IN WRITING. And again no sorry for the inconvienece or apology from anyone

This is the condition of a car that Alamo gave us and has not replaced it nor will respond to any customer service calls.

This is the condition of a car that Alamo gave me. After several phone calls and direct messages on Twitter they still have not replaced the car and have not helped us. They said it was Covid sanitized and it was full of throw up. #alamo

Zak was extremely helpful, professional, and communicated everything clearly from start to finish. The checkout process was quick and timely, and he went above and beyond to explain things I didn't fully understand without ever making me feel rushed. Because of Zak's outstanding customer service, I'm officially a customer for life. I'm a co-parent and travel to Austin every other month, and Fox will continue to be my go-to rental company because of experiences like this. Please keep Zak around give him a raise, recognition, whatever you need to do because he is awesome and will absolutely continue bringing in repeat business. Employees like him make all the difference. Goodbye Budget Rental and hello Fox!

I wish i could give 0 stars but 1 is the only on Yelp. We booked a car through wisecars.com (car…read morebroker) and then they said we had to pick up the car from fox rent a car. It took us more than 30 minutes to get our car from the fox rent a car. First off, we reserved a Kia Sportage online and paid for it. However, when we got to the booth, the representative kept telling us we booked a Nissan Kick. And then, he said that car wasn't available either and that we can only rent us the Dodge charger which was a sedan. It newly saying is roomy and it would have plenty of space for our things. Which was bull! When we asked for a SUV, he said he had a grand Cherokee but it would cost us$20 more per day. It was so frustrating. He wasn't trying to work with us. I thought he was being rude and took advantage of us. We ended up taking the dodge because we didn't want to pay more. By the way, it wasn't roomy at all. It was cramped inside the car with the car seat, diaper bag, and me in the back with the baby. We were so mad. We complained to wisecars.com about our situation and they said they would email fox rent a car. They got back to us and said that fox rent a car actually upgraded us to that sedan. How was that an upgrade from an SUV? I wish I read the reviews for this rental car company before we went there. Don't rent from these guys. They don't care about you.

I was a bit taken aback to be asked to sign the contract when there was none to actually see, but…read morewas told, "Oh, we'll email it to you." Felt like signing a blank check, but I thought, "It'll be okay." However, it's been a complete fiasco to deal with them regarding being rear-ended, with the exception of their Roadside Assistance line; that guy was excellent. But apart from that, I've experienced a Hertz.com website that won't recognize the car contract or tags, the customer service line is "no longer in service", and the "contact us" form leads to a blank web page. Calling leads to a "call us again on a business day" message. I finally got a foreign call center who told me there was an accident report form in the glove box (nope!). I finally wrote up a statement and told the attendant when I turned in the car but got an "YOU HAVE DAMAGE! YOU MUST REPORT THIS!" email/text. Called the CS rep again and was told everything should be fine, since they have all the claim numbers, etc. But again today, I got the same email, demanding I account for the accident on your non-functional website. This is astonishingly bad customer service, which has taken hours of my time, day after day, and the fact that it's ongoing is even worse. It's clear that there are pervasive problems behind the scenes, particularly when they are things that should be easily addressed. :( Also, if you do book with them, look the car over and take photos--the seams were ripped in 3 places in the back seat. Lastly, be aware that if you use the toll roads, that will cost you big-time through Dollar, but you can set your GPS to "avoid toll roads" and it will prompt you to easily hop on and off the freeway at the appropriate times to avoid them entirely. :)
