I'm so thankful I found FIT Brea! Over the past several years that I've lived in the area, I've…read morebeen a part of various gyms (both chain and boutique) nearby. Having now experienced FIT Brea, I'm definitely kicking myself for not trying this gym out sooner. I've only done their group fitness classes so far, which range from 8-12ish people in size, and I'm looking forward to trying out the personal training sessions when my schedule opens up! Here are a few ways that make FIT Brea a standout: COACHING: The coaches here are the whole package! 1. They all have stellar credentials, with many of them holding advance degrees and multiple certifications. In short, they know their stuff. 2. At the risk of sounding facetious, I just want to make the point that the FIT Brea coaches actually coach. It might sound like a no-brainer, but it hasn't always been my experience that coaches do much more beyond demo-ing the moves and saying "good job" or "keep going" every few minutes, especially in a group class setting. Here, the coaches constantly move throughout the room to offer individualized pointers on form, differentiated movements depending on individual strength and mobility, alternative movements for injuries, and encouragement and motivation to keep pushing so I can get better and better. 3. They are all super patient, encouraging, and welcoming! PROGRAMMING: The programming for the group classes are thoughtfully and methodically designed. From what I can tell so far, the workouts are structured in mesocycles with a progressive overload pattern. This is important because if we do the same thing over and over, our bodies will adapt and we will not make appreciable gains over time. With progressive overload, our bodies are constantly challenged so that we can keep increasing strength and improving hypertrophy. COMMUNITY: The FIT Brea community is so nice and helpful. I felt welcomed by the coaches and the other patrons from day one. Several people who recognized that I was new introduced themselves and helped me find and set up various equipment. Others even put my plates and dumbbells back during transitions. Just last week, the whole class broke out into spontaneous applause and cheer when I pushed out that last rep of bench press, haha! The mutually encouraging environment really underpins the whole vibe and experience here. It's a special thing. MANAGEMENT: One of the things that I didn't realize would make a difference in my overall gym experience is having direct access to management/owner. In my past gym experiences, the questions/concerns I had would typically have to go up a chain of command before I got a response. Since FIT Brea is owner-operated, the patrons can directly talk to Andrew, the owner, who is so nice and provides exceptional customer service. SPACE/EQUIPMEMENT: It's spacious, well-maintained, clean, and an overall pleasant environment to train in. CLASS OFFERINGS: I'm a busy mom who works full-time hours plus daily commute. I'm thankful that classes are offered as early as 5am and as late as 6:30pm so that I can get my training time in! If you are looking for a gym where you can optimize and maximize your fitness goals (whatever they are), look no further because FIT Brea is it! I'm a serial Yelp sleuther and almost never write reviews, but my experience thus far has so far exceeded my expectations that I felt compelled to share this gem of a place with others!

Then I found Fitness 19. It's smaller than most gyms, but that works in its favor. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. People actually come here to work out instead of sitting on a machine for 45 minutes scrolling through TikTok and guarding it like it's the Iron Throne. The place is clean, organized, and doesn't smell like a medieval battlefield after three days in the sun. Equipment is where it's supposed to be. Nobody seems determined to create chaos. My only complaint is that it isn't open 24 hours. Sometimes I get the urge to exercise at 2 a.m. after making poor dietary decisions and watching motivational videos that convince me I'm one workout away from becoming Batman. The pricing is reasonable, and they offer additional classes if that's your thing. Personally, I'm just a basic member, and the basic membership has everything I need. No gimmicks, no nonsense, no influencers filming workouts and then asking you to get out of their Oscar Worthy shot. For the first time in a long time,I don't dread going to the gym. That's probably the highest compliment I can give. 2 thumbs up.

I didn't think I'd be so drawn to such an amazing community of staff and fellow workout partners, I definitely can see myself making this still a part of my every day lifestyle, without the challenge which truly is the real challenge. The first weeks were challenging getting my body acquainted with the hustle and grind. After reaching the halfway point and having to take a week off For work on the ocean I had a lot of making up to do. I really pushed it extra hard the last two weeks and then my final week did 2 - 2aday workouts with a three-a-day workout on my final day before weigh in next morning. At some point I felt like a portal to the gym was waiting for me to fall thru as I would be jumping out of bed relaxing to the gym. No excuses. Bottom Line Up Front: I give this gym 5 out of 5 stars --…read moreand that says a lot because I've been training in martial arts since 1995 and am a certified instructor in multiple systems. But let me break it down as to why it gets my seal of approval. What You'll Learn: Rounders offers multiple martial arts: Boxing, Muay Thai (kickboxing), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kali (a Filipino knife-fighting system), and Mixed Martial Arts (which combines striking, wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu). In the past they have also offered wrestling and Judo. So there's something for everyone. Regardless of what class you pick, you'll learn how to protect yourself while getting a great workout. What You'll Gain: Like I mentioned, you'll get a killer workout in a safe and fun environment. According to some studies, you could burn anywhere between 300 to 800 calories in a single 1-hour kickboxing class. It's far more efficient (and fun!) than running on a treadmill. And the added bonus is that you'll learn self-defense along the way. Who You'll Meet: From co-owner Joe Kim to all the other instructors, the coaches here are physically talented, knowledgeable, and easy-going despite being deadly warriors. They create a positive atmosphere so that everyone -- from brand new rookies to combat sports veterans -- has fun while learning. And that trickles down through to the students, who are all supportive and welcoming. The Space: The gym is medium-ish in size compared to other gyms in the area; enough to hold one large group or two smaller sessions at the same time. The equipment is top notch. And the workout space is well maintained. There's also a small section for weight training, too. The Cost: I've visited other gyms with outrageous prices (like $200 a month for only Jiu-Jitsu!). Fortunately, tuition here is reasonably priced -- with options to drop-in, go month-to-month, or commit to 6 months or a full year. (The latter two doesn't mean you have to pay upfront, just that you'll be charged automatically for your chosen time frame and save more over the long term.) And considering those options give you unlimited classes for all of the martial arts classes, Rounders is totally worth it. Conclusion: Rounders MMA Fullerton is an ideal gym to join, whether you're looking to lose weight, learn some self-defense, or just belong to a cool community who will encourage and grow with you.

Yorba Linda and Diamond Bar are about a similar distance for me, and I like that they're sister locations so I can go to either one. The Yorba Linda studio itself is really nice. It's very spacious, open, clean, and welcoming. I also really like the coaches here. Everyone I've interacted with has been positive, friendly, and helpful. Even if you're running a little late or need help getting caught up with the workout, they're willing to help instead of making you feel uncomfortable or giving off weird energy. That was something I really noticed compared to my previous location. The only reason I'm deducting a star is the shower area. Compared to Diamond Bar and some other F45 locations, the shower here feels pretty outdated and honestly a little like a dungeon. It reminds me more of an older 24 Hour Fitness shower than the more modern, home-style showers I've seen at other locations. I really wish they would renovate it or at least brighten it up and make it feel more inviting. Other than the shower, I really like this location and would definitely recommend it. If they updated that area, I'd bring my rating up to 5 stars.

I have experienced this across the board from trainers, Misty May, Tammy, and Vicky. They bring incredible energy to every session, keeping motivation high for everyone in class, while ensuring everyone exercises safely and effectively. The morning classes, especially resistance program days, are so packed! The studio is very clean and organized; the workout floor is neat and clutter-free. This pristine cleanliness extends directly to the bathrooms, which are always fresh, well-stocked, and perfectly maintained. In fact, my 4-year-old toddler mentioned that he loves the bathroom! I love that the equipment and machines are modern and functional for workouts. For example, this studio has squat racks, which I know other F45 studios do not have. It makes it easier to do the heavy back squats programmed on these racks than to clean the barbell and put it on your back for a back squat. Even the cardio machines are top-tier and fully functional. F45 Yorba Linda seamlessly combines elite coaching with a premium, hygienic environment. It is the perfect place for anyone looking to challenge themselves and reach their fitness goals.
