I've been taking spin for almost seven years and was so sad to leave my old studio after my family moved to North OC. I thought nothing would replace my morning routine, but finding this spot has helped beyond measure. The workout is awesome and the people (instructors, staff and fellow clients) are SO NICE and welcoming. I like how their sequences ask of your body and your mind, requiring those of us with busy brains to stay present :) While I can't pick a favorite instructor, I have to give a shoutout to Cory. His classes are thoughtful and challenging, and he is kind, entertaining and funny to boot. Can't recommend Purple Pedal enough! read more

My friend and I felt completely disrespected by this studio today. My friend was 1 minute (no exaggeration, I have text receipts) late and not allowed to join the class. She drove from Whittier to meet me for spin and brunch, a 30 min drive just to get refunded and sent away for being 60 seconds late. In their eyes, it makes more sense to lose TWO customers rather than let one person open the class door for a brief moment to hop on a bike. There is nothing worse than a studio who thinks they're above common decency. Like...y'all are riding imaginary hills, it's not that serious. As a Fullerton local, it sucks to not want to frequent or recommend Purple Pedal! Update: Hi Andrew, thank you for your reply. My friend has been to your studio, it has just been a couple years. I live in Fullerton and she's the one who suggested a spin class. It's unfortunate that our perception has turned negative. I'm attaching my text screenshots below with timestamps. By the time she texted me this and had a conversation with your front staff, she was originally 1-2 minutes late. The door was also locked when she arrived. I was in the class with my phone (sorry, turns out you have more strict rules about this), and it was absolutely not 7 minutes in when I received her text. Found this cycling studio via ClassPass and I would come back for sure once I have my own clipping shoes. Located in downtown Fullerton parking is hit or miss but it was relatively easy for night class. There's a bunch of cute shops around so you can stroll around before or after the class. I had 8 PM class and I appreciate the energy that the instructor brought to the class and I love how she approached us one by one and told us that we were doing a good job! Instructor was extremely helpful and nice, I usually do a drop in class since I go to multiple classes. Class is already $30 dollars, I'm pretty sure shoe fee was $3 dollars. I decided to email the team to ask for clarification, I received a semi passive aggressive reply. I get it cycling is expensive but today's class was not super hyped, music was not great. I had the opportunity to take a spin class with Cory at Purple Pedal, and this class exceeded all my expectations! Having taken numerous spin classes before, I think Cory is one of the best instructors I've ever had. He really brought the energy, vibes, and motivated us to push ourselves harder. He had a great playlist, his moves where perfectly synced with the music, and I love that the lights would drop with the beat! Being in class feels like you are at a party, rather than just getting your cardio in. The studio had all the amenities, from lockers, showers, sweat towels, and the chilled eucalyptus towel at the end of class was a nice surprise. Love this place! Purple Pedal is honestly the first fitness class I've ever stuck with--and I actually look forward to going. The energy in every class is amazing, and all the instructors are super motivating, friendly, and just really good at what they do. I struggle with staying consistent, but something about the vibe here just clicks for me. The music is always on point, the workouts are challenging but fun, and the whole atmosphere is super positive and welcoming. First time taking a spin class and I'm so happy it was at Purple Pedal! I took the 6:00 AM class on a Friday and really enjoyed the class. There's a few parking spaces available in front of the store and a parking lot in the back, but I think you might have to pay for parking during certain times. I always felt like group classes are intimidating, but Katie was an amazing instructor and so welcoming. She had great energy (even for a 6:00 AM class) and thoroughly explained everything. She was patient and helped me with my shoes (first visit comes with free rental). The studio was very clean and there's lockers in the bathroom to keep your belongings in. They recommend coming 15 minutes earlier if it's your first time, but also so you can find your preferred spot and set up the bike. The studio provides a sweat towel that's on the bike and a cool down towel which felt great after getting in a good workout. The cool down towel smelled like eucalyptus which was refreshing. Overall, great experience!! Will definitely come back for more classes. read more

The last time I did a spin class was over 10 years ago. I love ClassPass because I can try different types of activities. I had so much fun at Purple Pedal. I appreciated Casey's energy for the 6 am. class. He also made sure I knew how to set up my bike and showed me where the weights were located. The facility is gorgeous. The bathroom/locker room was clean and inviting. Make sure to bring your own lock. I did rent shoes for $6. They do provide towels to use, and a nice cold towel is given to you at the end of the class. It was so refreshing! Since it was an early class, there was plenty of parking in the front. read more

I started going with my wife about once a month. She goes a few times a week now. I went in feeling pretty confident because I go to the gym pretty often, but these girls kick my butt every time! They always make me feel welcomed and I love seeing how encouraging and uplifting they are to each other. Everyone gets celebrated and it really turns exercise into a special occasion. I can see why my wife loves it here so much. It's community and self care set to boppin tunes. Gabby's class and Cory's class beat me up the most but I have the most fun in those two! They have the funnest music, IMO. It's been a cute date to go do spin and get coffee once a month. I'm looking forward to getting my butt kicked in February. read more

I do not have enough words to say how much I truly love this place. I originally found it through class pass 2 years ago and ever since have not been able to stop coming in. After noticing class pass noticing my pattern and upping credits for classes here, I realized the best affordable choice was to just get a membership. Best decision ever! The care that is done to this studio is truly impeccable. I've attended other studios and honestly, you can tell the difference. It's clean and well organized. The moment you walk into purple pedal you are immediately greeted. Granted, it is a big studio so sometimes the front gets a little crowded but I never enter without being properly greeted. The set up is so simple yet so well designed it is literally impossible not to know where things are. Restrooms/locker rooms are labeled. They have a wall of lulu and studio merch. A fridge full of such a great variety of drinks. And of course my fave, a mini fridge of oats for those that forget to eat something prior to class and need that sugar in order to keep going. The one thing I truly love about this place is how well Andrew(the owner) is on choosing his staff. There has not been a single class I have taken here, where I have left and said 'I need to go to the gym/take another class to truly feel a workout that was too easy' Yes, every instructor is different and has a different style. Yet every single instructor in there will give you a workout that is worth it. Every once in a while they will host challenges that include really great prizes (yes they always do more than one winner to encourage everyone to participate and have their best healthy life) After every class, the front desk comes in with a cold towel that has a hint of eucalyptus that gives you the most refreshing satisfactional cool off after such a great workout! To top it off they have showers!!! Do you know the convenience of that when you go in for an early morning class then have to rush to work right after?? You really will not get such great customer service anywhere else! Speaking of customer service, any question comment concern is always immediately handled and taken care of by Miss Angie. The customer service skill that woman has is completely out of this world! Her kindness and patience trying to solve whatever you throw at her is truly admirable. I've tried Orangetheory, Yoga, Pilates- they're all great, but I haven't kept a long term subscription to any workout class until Purple Pedal. They broke my streak. The instructors are top-notch, and there's a variety of styles and levels to choose from every week. The staff is so so warm and welcoming- they really take their community seriously and it shows. Aside from all of the above, I've truly never had a workout like Spin ( and more specifically at this location). I feel stronger mentally and physically- and I always have fun. I can't say enough good things about my cycling instructor! CORY From the very first class, I knew I had found someone special. His energy is absolutely infectious -- you walk in tired from the day, and within minutes, you're pedaling like you're chasing down the Tour de France. What really sets him is the ability to motivate without ever being overbearing. Whether you're a seasoned rider or totally new, He makes you feel welcome and capable. The playlists? Absolute fire. I'm not sure if I'm working out or dancing half the time. Every session feels like a mini victory, and I owe a lot of that to him. Still loving my time with Purple Pedal! I've gone to nearly every instructor now so I know who to go to depending on the workout I'm looking for! Here's a short summary of all the great instructors I've spun with so far! Andrew- He will have you dancing on your bike with fun hip hop music and solid choreography! He's always super helpful for beginners as far as bike set up and explaining different things to keep your form on point! Andrew is a jokester too so love his personality and the relationships he creates with his clients! Victor- I frequent his class every week! He's by far the toughest instructor here, but I say that with total respect and pride because you will feel SO accomplished after spinning with him. He does everything at double the speed and his weights are a long 7 mins or so (think fun EDM remix) but it's so rewarding to finish his class and he will give praise where it's due. Another great instructor that cares about form and seeing you reach your highest potential. Frances- Her class is always A VIBE, hunty!! Her carefree spirit is just so amazing to mesh with and she always creates a really fun atmosphere in her spin classes. She does a lot of hip hop which I love and she's consistent at kicking your butt! She's also just a super nice person and a very talented photographer! Matt O- LOVE MATT O! He's so good for beginners because he takes ample time to make sure you're all set and ready to kill your workout. He takes the time to learn all his riders' names so he can call you out for the amazing job you're doing in his class. Love his toning portions too, he will have you sweating and laughing during the workout. His music is always a party vibe too, lots of good 90s throwbacks and fun choreography that really fits well tempo-wise. Jenn- Jenn has such an upbeat personality and a solid program set up! Her class reminds me most of my former D1 track and field workouts--- fun, challenging and targeted to certain muscles. I love that we do "real" abs with Jenn off the bike and with weights because I feel like I see results much quicker with these type of weights for myself personally. Her class goes pretty quickly-- her song choices are hip hop and Latina vibes that keep you moving quickly! Matt T- Matt T's class is a fun challenge, the first time I took him he was bumpin some Alicia Keys and had us going quickly right out the gate. You'll sweat in his class and it's totally worth it! His pace is also very quick which is nice because you blink and realize you just finished a great workout in no time! Sirillo's class is a good time, I haven't been in his classes a lot because of the time he teaches, but it seems like he's got some regulars that really love his program! I have always enjoyed his music choices when I take him though (ranging from edm, throwbacks and some hip hop). Alyce's class is a fun intro-like class, but can be boosted by just increasing the speed of your bike or heaviness if your weights. I recently took her class knowing it was designed for beginners, but I used a very heavy set of weights and still had a really great workout! Alyce is very upbeat and positive, encouraging her riders at every step of the way and I always discover a new song or two in her class! Cory- I only got to take his class once but it's a totally different scene--- emphasis on the scene because he plays a variety of punk rock! Even though I am an avid hip hopper, I also love some Linkin Park, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, etc. I got all those fun throwbacks in Cory's class and a great workout. He was very encouraging after class and I'd totally take him again in the future! All in all, each instructor here is so nice and helpful for your fitness journey! I strongly recommend finding a few classes to take and become a "regular" because it'll be so worth it to join the Purple Pedal fam! read more

I have never taken a cycling class and I went in not knowing what to expect. The staff was very kind and showed me the basics upon arrival including how to set the bike up to fit my height, how to clip in and clip out etc. Not going to lie, it was tough, as I was very out of shape, but it was manageable, just listen to your body, there is no judgement if you can't keep up (at least that is how I felt). Consistency is key here in my opinion. I've taken classes with Jordyn, Kate and Corey. I love Corey's high energy and music choices. So much fun, definitely recommend read more

Typically, I'm not into cycling and I haven't gone many times...but I've enjoyed the past two times at Purple Pedal. I like the instructor, Kittie, who brings energy into the room and her level of difficulty. There's no pressure to do all the moves, and you can choose to sit in your saddle the whole time if that's what you want to do. The staff that I've interacted with have been very friendly and are always willing to help out if I need it. I've taken spin classes before, but not in the same kind of setting with a dark room, energizing music, and lights, so I thought this was a really fun experience. After taking my first class with Karen, I was hooked. Classes are always such a rewarding workout & all the instructors know how to keep everyone's energy up. The locker room & spin room were both clean, and I love that they provide a cold towel after class. All the staff members are friendly and helpful as well. If you're thinking about taking a class here, I strongly encourage you to try it out! Spin shoes aren't necessary but they do help you lock in to the bikes & spin a little easier. This was SO FUN! I came in on a Saturday morning for a 9:00-9:45am class. My only experience with cycling class was from classes offered at my gym ~5 years ago, so I didn't expect much. I had an opportunity to take a class for free, so I'm not sure about pricing or memberships. Shoe rentals are $5, or they give you free rental shoes for your first session. The ambience was like a dance studio meets nighttime music festival. The instructor (Karen) was lively, inviting, and energetic. She changed the lights and special effects depending on the beat drops and rhythms of the cycling. The music was very loud though, so from what I can tell most people in the class were relatively young (20s or 30s). There were 2-3 men in the class, but it was mostly girls. Parking was free for 2 hours in the area. Mostly street parking and one garage behind Half Off Bookstore across the street. read more

I come here just for Cory's class. He has classes during the super early AM to evening to late night so it's not hard to work my schedule around his. He's your DJ, "dance" instructor, lights/effects guy, and a show all in one. I love his energy. I don't know how he does it but he definitely brings it 100% every single class. His song selections are very diverse and range from pop, alternative, EDM/dance, rap, to raging punk rock.
