Girrrrrrrrrl, I love Art Nail (No I don't I'm lying, I can hardly stand forcing myself to crawl in there) the one on 38th street. They do a decent job with my toes, and are possibly the most inexpensive place in town outside of the place on Keystone. However, you sometimes pay for you what you get... So paying a few more dollars at Nail Tek didn't bother me at all. Art Nail has the tendency to fudge the prices as they please, like one time I came in with 30 minutes left to close and they charged me ten more dollars after doing my nails. *See my Art Nail review* However, the prices here are clearly typed out and in just about every area you can look to. The salon is squeeky clean and I applaud that! The chairs and tables are comfortable, and the massage chairs look heavenly. The thing I really really love about this little gem is the fact that they offer A TON of services! This may not sound like much, however for it to not be a full service salon you can get: Your eyebrows tatttooed, nails did, toes done, gel, acrylic, full sets, and even tattoo removal. WOW. They literally do just about everything. The technicians are absolutley pleasant. Very quiet and fast with what they do. The woman I saw (at table 4) told me about her son and wonderful fiance, all while doing an amazing job on my nails. I think my only gripe is that they are a little too short/thick (acrylic) other than that I am in love. I may have found the jewel of the nile here, go, hurry..and prepared to be impressed!! Yes.

Also, when I started to get up to wash my hands in order to get all of the acrylic dust from my hands before she applied the polish, she stopped me, BUT... had the nerves to place oil on my cuticles once she was finished painting them as if that was going to make them look beautiful... EVEN THOUGH ALL OF THE DUST WAS STILL ALL OVER MY HANDS AND ARMS! I was out-done and told her "This is crazy!" The look on my face confirmed my words. This doesn't include that there were times that she caused me pain with the equipment. Let's put it this way. She did such a poor job that if I could've, I would've went somewhere else and paid to have them to remove the work she did and have them redone. Looking at the level of artwork that was on my nails when I walked in, it was obvious the level of quality I'm accustomed to receiving. She just didn't care. When I told my husband what happened, he asked why didn't I get up and leave. Normally, I would've, but we had a family reunion this past weekend and it was too late for me get on the books with my normal nail tech or anyone else. I did add a tip because it's extremely hard for me to not tip someone, but one thing I know for sure, and two things I know for certain... This place is not sanitary at all. He cut my cuticle twice and I started bleeding and he did not do anything about it. He also picked up a nail off the floor and glued it to my finger and that was my last straw. I told him nvm on the nails and I'll just pay for the toes and all of a sudden everyone started acting very rude like they couldn't take criticism and I was very nice about everything. I will not be returning and I don't recommend this place. The Health Department needs to close this place down. They left me alone to take the nails off as well.

He said they are celebrating 30 years in business this March! He has several stylists to choose from, but since I hadn't been there I let him recommend someone who can handle my somewhat unique situation: thick, curly, and definitely unruly hair. It's never easy to get a good haircut with layers. One gal happened to have an opening the same day. The prices were quite reasonable, too! (I hate paying much for this kind of thing but several months ago I went to a chain store and got the worst cut in my life and have been trying to grow it out ever since. ) Once I arrived at the cute house-turned-Salon, there was no wait for my stylist ... she was efficient, pleasant and started right in by washing and conditioning my hair. She did a great job, especially when she blew dried and styled it..... I asked her to straighten it out a bit which took a really long time with two different types of brushes, and several hair products along the way. My hair turned out very nicely!
