Dolee Nails - in love w my gel nails!!!! - Nail Salons Near Me - San Jose, California

I absolutely hate the fake nails I have right now. They're square, but too square. And they're too thick. They're also CROOKED. I told the lady doing them (Kim) that I thought they were a bit crooked and she looked at me all sad-like, pretending like she didn't know what I was talking about. She asked me to show her where- UH, RIGHT THERE. That corner is HIGHER than the other corner... my fingers are not THAT crooked. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy having fake nails, and it's been so long since I last had them done, but I feel extremely cheated now. I HATE paying for things that I'm not happy with. I speak up whenever that happens... but this was the first time in YEARS that I went to get my nails done so I decided to just give in, assuming the lady knew what she was doing. WRONG-O. I've gotten my nails done AT LEAST 10 times before. Not ONCE did they ever look like this. The only things I like are the color and the length. both things that I had total control over- the color was MY OPI from home and the length was my choice. Although, actually, she didn't even make all my nails the same length. The nails on my left hand are all about 1 or 2 centimeters longer than my right hand! WTF. WTF. WTF. I don't know if I'll be going back. The only real pro to this place is their customer service. All the ladies were really nice and welcoming. And thinking about the other places I've been to in the past and how THEY treated their customers, I probably will go back. I'll just make an appointment to see someone with better personal reviews =) Oh, also- I'm a white girl, but the whole time I was there, not ONCE did I feel like they were talking about me. Or talking about any of the customers. Their customer service is FANTASTIC! I'll give them two extra stars just because it's so rare to find great CS like that. read more

I was referred by a good friend of mine to come here. I met her there for her 10am appointment. Since I didn't make an appointment, I knew I'd need to wait. My friend let me know that her manicurist has been late a few times in the past. I was being seated and Susan was working on my nails. My friend kept waiting and at 10:10 she asked Julie if she knew where she was and how long she'd be. Julie FLIPPED OUT and was yelling at my girlfriend. In front of other clients. Saying she was rude for asking and she doesn't know where she is. My friend went to sit down and Julie began (loudly) exclaiming to her clients that they were so easy to work with unlike other customers and she greatly appreciated them. I couldn't believe my ears! Lastly, Susan did probably the worst job at painting my shellac. It literally looks like I did it, she went over my cuticles onto my skin. WTF. You had 1 job. Otherwise, I would've done it myself! I'll never go back. Drive a mile down the street and go to Dash Nails. Better in every way. read more

This is my go to place for manicures and pedicures-- It's cheap, efficient and clean. On the occasion that I want fancy products and pampering, I go somewhere else and pay three times as much. The staff is professional and more than competent. Even my "worst" experience there is much, much better than what you would expect from a strip mall, inexpensive nail salon. read more

Have been coming here for quite some time now and love it every time. I used to just walk-in, but now make appointments with Brittany. She is great! Always happy and super friendly. She is also very flexible - is willing to come in early and/or stay late when need be. Great service! And who can beat $25 for a mani and pedi? I also get flowers designed onto my big toes for an additional $3 and always walk out a very happy. Thanks Brittany! read more

This place is pretty good. I decided to give it a try because of all the great reviews and it was close to another appt. I had at another place. So I called at around 10am to make an appt for a mani/pedi at 12pm. I got there at 12pm and it was packed! They sat me in the pedi spa chair and left me soaking my feet for almost 15 minutes.. but I was assured when they apoligized and told me they would have 2 separate technicians working on me at the same time, so I wouldn't be late. I told them I had to make another appt so I would have to leave my 1:15pm. Well I walked out of there at 1:14pm and am EXTREMELY satisfied with the job they did. I can't believe how busy they were and how they knew most of the customers by name. They had probably 5 regulars and 3 new people walk in during the 1+hrs I was there. I ended up getting a gel manicure and I think her name is Dee? did a great job. If I am ever in this area again I definitely will be coming back in. They have really good customer service and prices. Yes they were late on my appt but they were very accommodating and apologetic, so I forgive them ;) read more

Rating based solely on nail services. Avoid waxing services at all costs! They double dip in old wax containers. Ewwwww. read more

I really enjoyed my experience here! My friend and I were able to get an appointment at 7pm (+1 star for being open late!) even though we called barely 2 hours beforehand. We were greeted warmly by all the staff and already had our stations ready for us when we walked in. We got manicure and pedicures - I didn't actually pay for it but I think it was $25? The service was great - my manicurist (Brittany) was sweet, really nice and friendly. We didn't talk much, but it wasn't like an awkward silence. She was really good with details and gave a nice massage too. I loved my nails! All in all, comfy chairs and massage chairs for pedicures, lots of color choices, fun girly magazines to read, and the TV was playing Access Hollywood for good mindless entertainment. Would definitely recommend this place :) read more

2.5 stars to be exact. Came here with friends after hearing about the place from another friend. Anh worked on my nails, got the crystal gel? nails. Not sure what that is exactly but it's shiny. She was very nice, and wasn't boring. I was really actually looking for an overlay, but I guess they don't do that, or don't know how to do that. But all in all, lots of bubbles and it hasn't even been a week and it's already peeling. The 2.5 stars are for the nice people and cause my friends nails came out very nice, a few bubbles and thin. read more

Pros: - They were able to get me in on short notice. - They had one of my favorite nail colors. Cons: - They changed me between 3-4 different ladies, while I was there for a mani-pedi. - The cleanliness of their tools was questionable. - Inconsistent amounts/type of massaging (ie one leg got a lot more time and a lot better massage than the other). - They didn't tell me how long I should be under the nail dryer, so after two drying sessions back to back I thought I would be ready and since no one said anything to me I assumed that I just need to go up to the front and pay. I did, and within seconds of leaving I had two nails already smudged. They fixed the worst one and then I sat under the dryer for 3 more cycles. By the time I got home, 2 more were ruined :( - The lady who painted my nails did a very messy job... I was very disappointed. I'm not sure if I will go back, but I may try them one more time since they are near where I just moved to, and I will update my review then. read more

Review is for pedicure only: Tina is amazing. Her pedicures are like a little vacation . Her massages are longer than usual, nice and hard and evenly done between legs and feet! Her quality of work is top notch. I'm always satisfied, which is rare for me when it comes to pedicures. You won't be disappointed . Tip what she is worth ! The $40 deluxe pedi is worth every penny with Tina. read more

After coming here for the past year now. I believe this is the only place I will return to. I tried other nail salon, when this one is too busy to take me, but their work is just not as good. By the 2nd/3rd day, I always start seeing chips and nicks on my nail which is very disappointing. But this place, actually gets it right, and makes it last. I work with Ann, and she is adorable. read more

I love this place. Something about a nail salon that actually keeps their appointments. It's a rare thing to find but Elite has it down. Ann and Kim are really good at nails!! Their pedicures are super reasonable in price and they are GOOD. read more

I have been coming to Elite for over 10 years. I always request Susan who does an excellent job with my manicure & pedicures. She remembers me and my particular requests with how to do my pedicure. Where some nail technicians at other salons are a little rough with pushing back cuticles or trimming around the nail bed, Susan is very careful. She makes pretty designs on both the fingers and toes. It's $8 for a manicure and $15 for a pedicure. $5 for a design. I bring my own polish to be used so that I can touch up at home, but Elite nails has OPI, China Glaze, Orly, and some other different brands to be used with lots of colors to choose from. They offer gel manicures here now too but I haven't tried them yet. I also get my eyebrows done here by Yvonne. She is precise and meticulous in waxing, trimming, and plucking. I've gone to some places that only wax and don't trim or thin out the eyebrows. She has always done an outstanding job for me. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that this isn't like a "spa type" salon where everything is super zen and sparkling brand new top of the line. Despite the not "Burke Williams" feel, I feel very relaxed and satisfied after getting worked on at Elite Nails. read more

I took my daughter here for a wax. It was her first time getting a wax. The lady that does the waxes was very unprofessional and made my daughter feel ashamed. I was very surprised this happened because I have gone to her for myself in the past! Trust me nor I or my daughter will be returning! On top of that she also ruined my daughters jeans for she spilt wax on them and the wax will not wash out! Beware! read more

Clean, efficient and good priced I walked in without an appointment, and although they seemed very busy, they were able to accomodate me. My lady was very quite and took her time fixing my nails. I had French pedicure, and it took her about 40 minutes while I resist to fall asleep in the message chair/ foot jacuzzi. The price was also reasonable. Mine came out to be 18 dollars for the French pedicure. read more

I got my nails done here and they usually do a decent job. However, i got a dull set of gel nails an within 5 days of having them done, they started to chip off. Gel nails are supposed to last up to three weeks. Ridiculous:( read more

Well I haven't gone back and I think i am going to pass. My friend went here to get her eyebrows waxed and they pulled off some skin that had to scab up. DAMNIT. I just need to find one good nail place. I keep jumping around because I can't get consistent service anywhere. I got my pedicure.. nails cut crooked, skin scraped off til my feet turned red, rough rough rough pedicure! Did I mention no hot towel? Then I added a gel manicure.. not worth the extra $3. I have bubbles, crooked nails (some short some longer), paint on only half the nail, and inconsistent paint (some light, some dark). All the nails on my right hand were painted with such thick coats that I can't even scratch.. let alone when I washed my hair later that day, I can see my hair string marks in my nails. Probably the last straw was I left my nail polish there and instead of running after me to return it, they just placed it on the wall with the other nail polish. Greedy mofos. read more

My niece and I decided to try this place out since it was rated four stars. We should've known when we walked in by the looks of the place -it did not look very clean. It is a small hole in the wall place. I got the shellac manicure with a pedicure and my niece got a full set of acrylic nails with a pedicure. They started me off with my pedicure and my niece with her nails -exactly at 4:30. My niece asked Susan, who was doing her nails, if she could shape her nails a certain way. Susan replied with "I know that I'm not done, okay!" Which was shocking. She then proceeded to shape her nails asking questions with an irritable tone. The shape of each nail is different, the polish messed up immediately -bubbling up, and her polish stokes were uneven. My niece pointed it out nicely, in hopes of Susan correcting it, but her attempts did not work. When it was time for my niece's pedicure they sat her next to me and started soaking her feet, but I do not recall anyone cleaning the pedicure spa chair/bowl after the last lady who had just move. I was shocked, but did not say anything -just staring at the lady and the bowl. I could not wait to get out of that place, but we were not done till 6:00! I was shocked that they had as many customers as they did. I will be contacting the health department for a inspection, as I do not think it is fair to run a business in such manner. read more

This place is the worst. They way overcharged for acrylic nails adding on all these "fees". The setting is dated and smells strongly of chemicals. I went for a fill in and got charged $43-- no lotion- no cuticle oil- no massage... just the basics. I wouldn't go here if I were you. read more

I've been here a few time and have experienced really great service every time! Word of warning, if you don't make an appointment, the wait time tends to be a bit longer. From my experience, all the women who work here are really friendly and try to provide you with a great experience. The first time I came, Ann (or Anh?) helped me and she did an amazing job with my Shellaq manicure! I've never had a manicure that was as thorough as the one i got from her. I highly recommend her and she does fabulous with designs! Another time I came here, an older woman did my nails since Ann wasn't available. She was nice but sadly, not as good as Ann. I asked for a really complicated design and she did her best to help me. She even practiced on a fake nail first and when the design ended up being too difficult for her, she asked their design specialist Tiffany to help me. I really appreciated that she did that! Most of the time nail ladies just slap it on and expect you to like it, even if they know it looks horrible. She really took all the measures to make sure I loved the outcome of my nails! This place is hidden in the corner but I feel it's a great little shop and all the women here really do try and give you exactly what you want. The prices are reasonable too! I'll for sure be coming back. read more

After searching for a nail salon with good reviews that was near my friend (who graciously offered to watch my 2 year old while I got pampered!) I found myself in Elite Nails. I made an appointment because so many other reviews mentioned how busy the place gets- they didn't lie. I got there at 10:30 for a 10:45 appointment and was seated for my pedicure right away. Huge bonus. The color selection was definitely lacking. There is just about every shade of red and pink on the planet, but not a ton else. And no Essie. If I come back I will probably bring my own color. There is a good selection on the "menu" of pedicure's available and I chose the "Relaxation Pedicure." It lasted 1.5 hours. OMG. I have never been anywhere where they came close to an hour, let alone an hour and a half. Even bigger bonus. My pedi came complete with scrubs, hot oil, hot stones, paraffin wax, and a really good leg rub. I was very impressed. Best of all, the girl doing my pedi didn't say a word other than to ask when I was due (I'm pregnant.) More bonus points. After my pedi was complete and I was leaving I noticed there were a few ladies waiting with standing room only to be served. In my opinion, if a place is this busy at noon on a weekday it must be consistently good. I walked out the door feeling refreshed and relaxed, having only spent $35 plus tip. Not bad at all. I wish I could remember the name of the lady who did my pedi.. I want to say it was Tina or Kim. She was very sweet and very quiet. Just like I like 'em :) They also offer hair and wax services. read more

I'm always embarrassed when I walk into a nail salon for a manicure/pedicure. I rarely get them - usually as treats to myself when I need a little extra TLC. My cuticles are especially bad on both my hands and feet since I don't maintain them (hey, I'm a mom, what can I say?). Despite this, the gal who did my mani/pedi was quiet, but sweet. She was very thorough and took her time, making sure that my cuticles were completely trimmed, which was awesome since other places I've gone to have rushed through this process and done a messy job. Overall it was a great experience - I especially loved the massage-back pedicure chairs and the fact that they weren't pushy with products or other services. It was very clean inside and well maintained, and the price was surprisingly affordable. I will definitely go here again! read more

I've gone to this place many times, but this visit was the last time. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! 1. I showed them the design I wanted in gel nail polish and they said yes they could do that. 2. 1.5 hours after I'd been there, 2 people were STRUGGLING to draw a BOW on one of my nails. When I made a comment that I should have been told they couldn't do it when I first walked in rather than after 1.5 hours, the owner just said "it hasn't been 1.5 hrs". I walked in at 2:40 and it was 4:15... Not a math major, but pretty sure that's 1.5 hrs. 3. I made a comment that they should have told me when I came in that they can't create that's design and I could have gone elsewhere. At that point, the owner told me that I don't have to pay and I can go to another shop. 4. Since my nails were not done, I said that I can't leave with incomplete nails. To which she said I'll remove the nail polish. 5. Rather than admit their mistake and apologize, the owner continued to argue with me the whole time she was soaking my nails and removing the gel nail polish. 6. The owner claimed that no other customer had ever complained and I mentioned to her that her Yelp showed otherwise. She mentioned that she doesn't have time to read everything written on Yelp. 7. When another customer started talking to me and said sorry you had to deal with all that... The owner realized her other customers were being impacted. So she changed her attitude and said we said sorry that we couldn't make the nails look just like the picture. I reminded her that she never said sorry... And of corse she argued that she did. As word of advise, you should definitely read what your customers are saying about you. This is especially important if you plan to be competitive and stay in business. And learn to admit your mistake rather than argue with me. read more

Very impressed with this salon! Saw Brittany today and she was great! Super patient and did my nails exactly as I asked. She's very good at shaping and cleaning the cuticles and makes the extra effort to make sure everything is perfect. Prices are very reasonable as well - $15 for a pedi and $10 for a mani. They also have a huge selection of Gel nail polish - including the brands Gelish, Shellac and OPI. read more

I love my pretty toes! Great service, great quality work. Here is why I rated Elite Nails 5 stars: 1) Friendly staff. Their English is a little shaky but we seemed to communicate fine. All staff members smiled at their clients and chatted with the ones who wanted to chat. Only rarely did the staff members speak to each other, and then it seemed only to convey information. 2) Clean equipment. The pedicure tub was clean, as was the massage chair. Everything seemed to be in good working order. 3) Great service. The lady who performed my pedicure spent a lot of time with me, didn't seem to skip any steps, and gave me a good leg and foot massage. 4) Quality work. The pedicurist did a very good job at applying the nail polish (color, plus sparkly top coat, plus a very intricate firework-type design with a jewel) and seemed very attentive to detail. 5) Great prices. I was worked on for about 45 minutes to 1 hour and was washed, scrubbed, de-cuticled, massaged, moisturized, and polished with the above mentioned nail details - all for $18!! WOW! I gave her a $5 tip. Normally I perform my own pedicures, but having someone else do it is so relaxing. It's very easy to justify, too, for only $18. Will definitely go back. read more

I came in to get a mani-pedi done on a rainy weekend. They were busy, but I didn't have to wait. I loved my manicure and pedicure. The lady who did it for me took her damn time and made sure she got every cuticle and that everything was perfect looking with the same length. She also gave me the longest massage every! The only bad thing about it was the damn nail polish. I don't know what was wrong with the nail polish, but I swear, I was sitting under the light for 45+ minutes trying to dry my nails. My toes were done first and they still weren't even dry after the manicure AND the drying of the manicure. So it was obvious that my manicure wouldn't even be close to done. I have no idea what went wrong, but I got so irritated and tired of waiting that I just paid and left. I didn't care at that moment, but I don't have time to be sitting in a nail salon all day for polish that should have been dried already. When I reached home, there were a few smudges on my nails, but that's not the salons fault. That was all me and I was too frustrated to care anymore. The lady did a great job overall, but I don't know if I will come back. read more

Elite Nails is located in the Sunrise Plaza in South San Jose. On the day of my wedding I needed to get my nails done asap so I dropped in and they were able to get me seated and started immediately. Elite doesn't have an overly friendly staff, the lighting in there is a bit harsh during the morning hours but gets relaxing on the sun hits midday. There are only two pedicure chairs so pedicures can be backed up. I like that they give each customer their own nail file, buffer, toe separators and paper slippers to walk around in. They will also clean and disinfect the pedicure chairs completely before the next customer sits down which is very important and prevents the spreading of bacteria. Manicures and full sets run from $10-20. Pedicures are $15. Elite also offers haircuts and waxing services. read more

I come to this nail salon almost everytime I need to get my nails done. They charge reasonably less than most salons ($23 full-set french manicure, $15 pedicure) it's clean, and the equipment is updated. The workers are professional unlike other salons, the salon manager takes care of her customers and the nail work is very good. This is a busy salon, it gets a lot of customers so if you plan on walking-in I found that the best times to go are weekdays between 12-3, but I would schedule for an appt. read more
