Service here is pretty good and prices are cheap ($10 for mani, $25 for pedi). The manicurists here are pretty friendly but a bit of a hard seller. They focus too much on getting you to try their spa pedicure menu and gel manicure. I guess to increase business, it's fine in their perspective, but I don't like to be bugged about how regular manicure would chip in 2-3 days. I've been getting my nails done and doing them myself. Generally my nail polish don't start chipping until 5-7 days. Polish selection is quite limited if you're going for mainly OPI. They have a lot of these knockoffs where the bottle look extremely similar but it's a different brand. The colors of those non-OPI brands are cute, but I want something from a brand I trust. They don't carry much of Essie's either. I was late for my appointment by 20 minutes, glad that they still took me in. Nonetheless, I felt like my entire mani/pedi was quite rushed. My manicurist, Susan, was really good at shaping nails. My nails were all about the same length after, she made sure to clip off the parts where it's breaking. I wasn't too fond of her short and soft massage. I wasn't paying extra for extra massage, so whatever, I'll take the default package. I'm a bit iffy about their towels being sanitary though. Generally the nail salons I've been to, the person would bring a new/clean warm towel to wipe off the lotion from the massage. The towel I got was dried, rough, cold, don't recall her pulling it out from a sanitizing cabinet. That feeling wasn't what I was looking for when I wanna get pampered. The polish application was definitely rushed. Generally, my nail person would paint the tip after painting the nail to avoid chipping so quickly. I feel like they ladies here want to make sure the polish won't last pass the 3 days mark, they skip that step. My polish started to chip in such an ugly manner. It's ridiculous. I could paint a better job than this. My pedi usually last even longer up 2 weeks before I finally change colors or even a month if I'm extremely lazy. My nails have been long due for some TLC, and so today on a recommendation I tried out Elite Nails for the first time. Ann was my manicurist, and she paid meticulous attention to detail. I prefer my nail extensions rounded, and I've never had anyone else stop to ask if they were trimmed at the exact angle I wanted before continuing...which I really appreciated. I brought a friend to hang out with, wrongly assuming that it would be like my usual experience at salons, which involves being bored to death listening to chit-chat in another language between the nail techs. She was polite enough to instead focus very closely on what she was doing (also somewhat new to me, I'm used to my manicures being interrupted by phone calls, etc.). Ann seemed extremely nice, and from the words we did exchange I'm willing to bet she would have been a pleasant conversationalist if I came alone. $32 DIP + $3 to remove previous DIP. Walk ins welcome if they have openings. Not clean. Desk is messy. Station was dusty. Shelves behind her station had a layer of dust and was messy and Disorganized. I saw a Christmas ornament hiding behind a frame on the front desk. They were pretty busy when I arrived at 12:15pm. She asked I return in 30min. I came back in 15 and asked if I could get a pedi since she was still busy, she said no one was avail. It was pretty busy. She asked me to come sit so she can start. The woman was full of insults and even raised her voice in one of her responses. Over the phone I asked for Dip pricing. She said $32. When she saw I was replacing my current set, she said $35 to take off (?!) Made no mention of that on the phone. She examined my current set and asked who did them, before I could answer, she said they're too thick. She said she likes to put a final coat of clear Gel for shine. I told her I didn't want Gel at all, and she explained (as her voice slowly got louder) why she uses Gel. I found her to be flustered and frustrated with my questions. Then she said the product she uses is more expensive than the product that was used previously on my nails. Because she pays more for hers it's better (?!) That was stupid. Here is the list of her insulting comments and actions: 1. The person who did them last made them too thick. She flashed her nails and made a comparison saying Dip should be as thin as those. 2. She shook her head in frustration when she removed the foil tips and started mumbling that they're to thick she never has this problem. I told her the remover should've stayed longer she said,"no too thick" 3. She said her customers don't like the electric file to remove the excess. So what does she do! She grabbed her electric file and started to grind down what was left (??!) 4. She said she/they don't like doing DIP it takes to long, it's a lot of work to remove and it's not worth it. (I couldn't believe she just said that) 5. She asked me if I injured my thumb. I said no. She said, the nail bed is lumpy. (whaaat?!) Half way thru she asked which do I want: clear Gel top coat or regular clear top coat. I told her I didn't want Gel and she started up again with her reasoning. I then said I would leave it up to her. She used the Gel. Oh! Remember I asked for a Pedi? She got 3 walk ins for Pedi's and was delighted to offer them all chairs right now. I don't think I'll be rushing back there any time soon when there are so many better salons with kinder people. I've been coming here for a while now and I've had some great nails and I've had some lousy nails and if it was just that I wouldn't waste my time with a petty review but I recently had a really disturbing experience that should be made public. I only came in for nails but one of the new girls talked me into doing my eyebrows of with she did a hatchet job but as she was finishing up she said, "You could look so good, but you need to work on your acne and that unibrow. You come back to me and I make you pretty!" I almost laughed right there. I'm a 40+-year-old Asian woman, the last time I had acne Reagan was in the White House. I'm an adult that knows her flaws. Chubby? Sure. Drinks too much sometimes? You got it. But acne and a unibrow? Are you high, lady? Then it occurred to me. There are a lot of high school kids around here and some that I see in the salon. I can only imagine this person praying on their insecurities by saying such things just to get a repeat customer. So normally I wouldn't even bother writing a review, but i think after being a customer of Elite Nails for 8 years with hit or miss service on a regular basis and finally the WORST SERVICE EVER actually merits an explanation and detailed account. Who doesn't love getting their nails done?? I know I do, or at least I used to, I need to find a new spot after 8 years of loyal business. I've finally surrendered to the fact that Kim the owner seriously lacks the fundamental customer service skills it takes to run a business, I knew it before but today was the final straw, I quit!! I took my 4 year old daughter in, my mother, my best friend, and her 4 year old daughter in, yeah, we didn't have appointments, but it's never been a problem in the past. Sure Kim pisses and moans about it, but honestly, I've had to wait nearly every time I've had an appointment anyway, so it really makes no difference other than proper complaining rights this time on Kim's part which she verbally exercised. So of course we have to wait, we all expected that. My friend wanted a pedi, she went first, my mom, a regular mani, and a quick hair cut by Rosie. The babies got a quickie polish, and me, well, i'm still waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for a pedi and a gel mani. You'd think they do me first, since I have the more difficult finger nail task, soaking and scrapping off gel polish, nope. I'm not upset that I didn't go first, however it might have made more sense in a practical manner. I finally get a pedi, however it was cut short and left unfinished because an appointment customer walked in, really?? Really?? You've got to be kidding!! The promise of finishing my toes was made, but it never happened. Then I am sat down for a mani, by Susan, not my favorite, but hey, I didn't have an appointment, beggars can't be choosers. (Britney is my usual, but she was unavailable.) So Susan begins, by this time my entire group is done, but hey it can't take that long, right? Wrong! Seemingly impossible to communicate with Susan, I wanted a really short cut, I also don't like sharp square edges, again, seemingly impossible to communicate these easy wishes, she actually had me cut my own freaking finger nails, wow!! Color, no, sorry not available! We don't have sparkles like that, uuummm, really, I know you do, I've been coming here for YEARS!!! So of course at this point the surlier comments are dispatched by Susan, "you need to hurry, I have other customers, you take too long." At this point I'm done, my entire party wants to leave and so do I. I stand up and say "I have to go, this isn't working out, let me pay, let me go" I have no polish on my nails, they are not properly manicured, my toes are not done and we have been in the store for 2.5 hrs!!! "What the problem" asks Kim, I tell her, she says "you come back Monday, we finish, you didn't have appointment, what you expect?" How about some freaking common courtesy Kim? Kindness? Compassion? How about some professionalism?? Over the years there have been many other incidents, all of course with surlier, rude comments, but I just brushed them by the wayside, I really like my nail girl, she was worth enduring the nonsense of Kim the owner. Even when their credit card machine went on the blink and charged my bank card 3 times for one transaction($150 vs $50) which happened on 2 separate occasions I stuck by them, it eventually got resolved, but today I've had it. Oh, and the woman who service my best friend launched several rude comments at her directly, as well as at here 4 year old daughter, directly! So uncalled for, so unprofessional I can't even begin to understand. If you say yes to walk-ins, don't berate and bereave them for coming in and bringing you business, especially if they are long time customers. I'm done, I'm NEVER going back, EVER!! read more

A few weeks back i made appointments for myself and some friends to be seen at 9:30am. We were seated immediately upon opening and didnt have to wait for them to set up. Now that i think of it, its pretty crazy how packed it got for being before 10am on a Wednesday, but they accommodated everyone with smiles! As the other reviews said, the staff was SUPER friendly and did a great job. I love to get a good pain free pedicure topped off with a massage that is NOT timed. :) The best part of my visit was the price! Mani & Pedi for $25 bucks? That's crazy good considering some other salons try to charge $35 for each! I love this place and am going back tomorrow for another visit. :) read more

I went here the other day and have to say that they went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied and given high quality service. I called to make an appointment but was running late and they said just to come as early as possible. When I got there an hour before closing they did not turn me away. I had the nail stylist Kim. She was very friendly. I believe she was the owner. She paid attention to detail and granted my requests when I wanted my nails to be a certain length. She made them look beautiful. She had no problem with me reading a magazine (one place I went to in So Cal didn't let me). I paid $25 for a mani/pedi with a nice leg and hand massage. The lotion they used smelled great (another salon I went to had lotion that smelled like plastic). Since I did not get shellac, she put on an extra top coat to ensure that my manicure would last a bit longer. My nails were a work of art by the time I left. All done in about 1.25 hours. Oh Elite Nails. You give me such cheap solutions to my hand/foot disasters and I couldn't love you more. FEET: As I'm sure many of these reviewers did, I went here after reading all the 4- and 5-star reviews on Yelp. I initially went here for a cheap pedicure. I can't remember the name of the girl, but she seemed a little upset that evening and didn't do as good of a job as I'd hoped. No matter. I recently came back for another pedicure and was booked with the same girl, although she was much friendlier this time and she did an excellent job... my poor, sad toes are all sparkly and gorgeous now! And when you pay only $15, you can afford such an indulgence a few times a month! HANDS: A while back, I had been craving some fake nails in my life and eventually decided I'd take the plunge and get them done. Kim, the owner, was who I'd asked to be scheduled with, and they booked an appt for me within a few hours. She was a little rough with the filing - my nails are really sensitive :( - but she did a wonderful job otherwise. And although I've since ripped the things off, the few other times I went back to get them filled, Kim ALWAYS accomplished something unique, whether it was Halloween theme or whatever, and tons of people complimented me on my nail designs, even guys! I came here with a friend on a Monday. They were busy, even in the afternoon. Crazy?! We had to come back in 45 minutes to get a pedicure. Does it live up the hype? Well, the staff was friendly and it seemed like that woman that was working on my pedicure had lots of experience working on nails. I got the pedicure with a hot stone massage and hot oil. First, the hot oil, is like the chinese oil to rub and sooth muscle aches. I still enjoyed the hot stones and the massage as well. It was relaxing. As I continue my search for a new nail salon closer to my new place of residence, I am beginning to think the longer drive to my old place may be worth it. This place was just OK, but definitely not 5-star. I think some of the past reviews were a little too generous in their scores. Eyebrows- This was good, and only $8. No complaints. Toes- The first let down. I wanted a french pedicure, but the white lines are thinner, too rounded, and not entirely even (especially on my big toes). I tend to suffer from ingrown toenails, but she didnt even try to trim them or remove the extra skin inside my toes. The massage chair felt good though, one of the best I've been in. NOTE: The woman took the used toenail clippers and other utensils that she used on me, stuck them into my foot bath for 2 second, and then put them back into the plastic case labeled CLEAN. I think this is a violation of health code. Acrylic nails- First off, they charge $10 to remove old nails. This is the highest of any salon I have been to (its usually 3 or 5). The process hurt ore than normal. When she put the nails on the acrylic is a little thin, which is causing my nails to currently look pretty flat, instead of rounded. She also spread the acrylic too far over the sides so it stuck all over my finger edges. It hurt pretty badly as she tried to pick off the excess. Bathrooms- Eww. There was mold and mildew growing all over the seams of the sink, and around the sink base and toilet base. Random- There was an older white gentleman getting his toes and nails done. He seemed to be flirting with the nail ladies in an over-the-top way, and all available nail women flocked around him. They all pulled up chairs, started giggling, etc.. I left unhappy with a pedicure (scrub was way too short, no massage, nail polish wasn't properly applied) and I felt bad for feeling so since the lady was extremely nice, but less than a week later my judgement stood correct. My nail polish from my pedicure chipped on three of my toes within a week. I've gotten pedicures from other places where the nail polish lasted for over a month and a half. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. However, I liked my manicure and both ladies were super nice and the price is pretty cheap compared to other places. They are Cheap, Professional, and Meticulous My roommate and I just moved in around this section of San Jose, and were in DIRE need of a PEdi/mani. First of all, we had no appointment and they took us right away, no problem. They worked quickly, and were super friendly. I feel like I must say because I am a dancer most ladies cringe at the atrocity that is my feet. Always Callused, and sad with ugly nails, I sometimes feel they are judging me. Not here. They worked away with a smile the whole time... and made my feet sparkle. My manicure was just as good! she did exactly what I wanted and tried to sell me on the silver lining (see previous reviews, I suppose they do that a lot) and I decided to let her go for it. It is a little much for my taste as I think my fingernails are to short (my fault, not theirs) but I must admit, the silver on the tips is growing on me :) AND All that was done for UNDER $30 AND I was out in about an hour (a little over) Totally worth it! Yelp brought me here and the things I like about this Saloon are: - Ability to communicate in English - All the nail technicians here can speak in English but they do not bore you with too much talking or talking between themselves - Pedicure packages - their pedicure spa packages are worth their price points as they invest time and effort on your feet. The lady doing my pedicure took more than an hour and massaged my feet well - Full set - I got a french manicure acrylic full set and I am very impressed with the quality of the service. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with no appointment and was able to get a manicure after waiting for only 10 mins or so. They did seem pretty busy and walk-ins after me was told to come back later, but it was the weekend before Valentines day so they might have been busier than usual. The french tip manicure is only $13. They finished pretty quick and the manicure lasted a decent amount of time. There was somewhat of a hand massage, but not for long. When I arrived there, all four spa chairs were being used, so I asked if I could get my eyebrows waxed while I was waiting. Yvon (who I guess is the only hair stylist?) led me to her station across from the spa chairs and I was pleased by the fact that she first showed me how much she would be taking off (and silly me, I assumed she would just be taking off from the bottom), and checked if I would be okay with it. She then took what looked like a moustache comb and took her time measuring the length and snipping off the unruly top ends, kind of like one would do when cutting hair, little by little. The actual waxing part was quick and relatively painless, but afterwards, she was also very painstaking about shaping and plucking all the little stray hairs. When I finally saw the end result, I was a little surprised because I wasn't used to seeing my eyebrows so finely manicured (and admittedly, a tad thinner than I am accustomed to wearing them), but I thought she did a very good job overall. In fact, I am curious to check out her styling prowess, so I made an appointment to get my hair colored and cut on Monday. A girl named Kim did my pedicure and she was pleasant enough, but I wish she'd dug a little deeper when cleaning the crevices around my big toenails (sorry if TMI, folks), I like it to feel super-clean. I had picked a neon pink color for my toenails and she did an okay job, but she definitely sold me on the "design." For an extra $3, she painted clear silver glitter over the pink (which gave it a nice glimmery sheen) and white flowers on the big toenails. Interestingly enough, I felt like she did a way better job on the design (which, if you think about it, takes a little more detail-orientedness) than she did with the actual toenail painting, but oh well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place -- it is cleaner and more spruced up than my old stand-by Vietnamese salons, the wait time is not bad at all, the prices are reasonable (especially for the spa pedicure and design -- only $18 total, not including tip) the manicurists/stylists are friendly, and their familiarity with their customers is reminiscent of Norm from Cheers. read more

It wasn't very busy since it was the middle of the day, so I was seated right away. the girl that worked on my hands was soooo nice! she was clearly genuine and talked to me about school, my culture, and different Korean dramas she liked to watch (: she even taught me how to make a vietnamese dish that I LOVE. all while doing my nails~ I asked if it was possible to get glitter tips but she said my nails were short, and suggested to just get gel nails. but I like natural nails so I politely declined. after she painted white tips, she offered to paint over it with a slight shimmer, since I couldn't get glitter tips (: so nice. it's a really good place to go for a quick manicure. the ladies are nice and they have a lot of different things you can do with your nails! minus a star for one lady shaving her dry feet straight onto the floor.. that's kinda gross. read more

I was so happy to find this place so close to home. I love that I can walk in and they do their best to fit me in. Kim and Julie are great. Unlike some of the other Asian owned nail places I've been to, where they never speak to you in English... Here they remember my name, and always ask about my daughter if she is not with me and ask me how my business is doing. These ladies are personable and service oriented. As a massage therapist, I really appreciate a good foot and leg massage. I work bare foot and never wear shoes around the house; my feet always need work. I've been getting my nails and eyebrows done here for about 6 years now and I love it! Even if you come in without an appointment, they somehow manage to get you in and out without any fuss. The quality of work is excellent and cleaner than most Vietnamese nail salons I've been to. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Yvonne is the only one who does eyebrows and hair. She is very meticulous and detailed. The waxing time is short and relatively painless, and she takes her time plucking those tiny hairs left over that are so hard to get! If there is a wait for a manicure/pedicure she has no problem waxing you while you wait. As far as nails go, I've gotten manicures/pedicures done by all the ladies there and have never complained once. They take their time and don't rush through the cleaning. I like that they always remember my personal requests for my french manicure so I never leave the salon hating my nails. Pricing is not bad, and I can get a manicure/pedicure and eyebrows for about $50! I love this place! I have to agree with Natasha O. I love and adore Britney and have been going to her for years but Kim and the girl that sits in the front left of the shop are just rude. After years of coming in, Kim never says hello and, trust me, she knows my name by now. The other girl actually started to say "Hi, how may I help you?" the other day when I came in but once she realized that it was me, she stopped mid sentence and said "Oh" and looked away. Also, as a black woman, I'm not a fan of Kim laughing with her customers and saying that Barack Obama looks like a dog because of his dark (not even really dark) skin. Me and my friend decided to go get manicures in time for our New Years celebration so she asked me to pick a place. I only get manicures every once in a while so I only knew of a few selected spots that did a good job. We tested our luck at EZ Nails and found that it went out of business so i quickly searched yelp and found Elite Nails which was a 2 miles down. Upon entering the nail salon, we found it had a really strong chlorine smell which was not well ventilated like a lot of the other nail shops i've been to. (-1 star for that) It was a little busy with one person waiting ahead of us so they told us to give them 20-30 minutes. Every so often the lady (KIM?) would come by and reassure us that she'd see us soon and apologize for the wait. We were finally seated after about 25 minutes of waiting. I had a cute lady named Ann doing my nails while my friend had Kim do hers. They were extremely nice ladies that was able to keep a conversation going the entire time. Since we waited a long time, they both gave us a free OPI gel base layer that was suppose to maintain the nail polish from chipping. Ann did a good job with my manicure where i didnt feel rushed and she didnt hurt me when cutting my cuticles. $10 for a manicure and $3 for my nails to be painted with french tips so my total came out to be $13. My friend doesn't get her nails professionally done too often and is pretty iffy about Vietnamese nail shops so i was a little scared we might get a bad experience but she left saying she'd 'definitely come back' and was very satisfied with the work they did. I was just looking around for a quick pedicure this weekend and went with what other fellow Yelper's reviewed on. Now I know why people are giving this place 4 stars or what not. I think the neighborhood around blossom Hill says it all. I will admit that I give them a two thumbs up on their prices. -$15 for pedicure, Manicure at most places are $10, what's another $5 for your toes? I give this place a two star because the place had a "whole in the wall" type of feel to it. The place isn't as tidy as it should be and you can definitely smell someone's lunch being reheated. Aside from the small place, only infomercial being played on one TV and possibly being schooled on Vietnamese 101; I did have a good service on my pedicure, my pedicurist took about an hour on my french pedicure with design. She did a detail job and made heart petals on my flower rather than just a white dot and add some gem to it and call it a flower. I would like for my pedicurist to at least follow up with me and let me know when it's okay to leave though. I was just sitting there until another pedicurist said it was okay to leave. read more

I took my daughter here for a wax. It was her first time getting a wax. The lady that does the waxes was very unprofessional and made my daughter feel ashamed. I was very surprised this happened because I have gone to her for myself in the past! Trust me nor I or my daughter will be returning! On top of that she also ruined my daughters jeans for she spilt wax on them and the wax will not wash out! Beware! read more

I have been getting my gel sets here for the past 2 months and I always leave the salon satisfied. I highly recommend Ann. I don't really get pedicures here (I usually go to Strawberry nails for the delux) but their customer service is great! I absolutely hate the fake nails I have right now. They're square, but too square. And they're too thick. They're also CROOKED. I told the lady doing them (Kim) that I thought they were a bit crooked and she looked at me all sad-like, pretending like she didn't know what I was talking about. She asked me to show her where- UH, RIGHT THERE. That corner is HIGHER than the other corner... my fingers are not THAT crooked. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy having fake nails, and it's been so long since I last had them done, but I feel extremely cheated now. I HATE paying for things that I'm not happy with. I speak up whenever that happens... but this was the first time in YEARS that I went to get my nails done so I decided to just give in, assuming the lady knew what she was doing. WRONG-O. I've gotten my nails done AT LEAST 10 times before. Not ONCE did they ever look like this. The only things I like are the color and the length. both things that I had total control over- the color was MY OPI from home and the length was my choice. Although, actually, she didn't even make all my nails the same length. The nails on my left hand are all about 1 or 2 centimeters longer than my right hand! WTF. WTF. WTF. I don't know if I'll be going back. The only real pro to this place is their customer service. All the ladies were really nice and welcoming. And thinking about the other places I've been to in the past and how THEY treated their customers, I probably will go back. I'll just make an appointment to see someone with better personal reviews =) Oh, also- I'm a white girl, but the whole time I was there, not ONCE did I feel like they were talking about me. I was referred by a good friend of mine to come here. I met her there for her 10am appointment. Since I didn't make an appointment, I knew I'd need to wait. My friend let me know that her manicurist has been late a few times in the past. I was being seated and Susan was working on my nails. My friend kept waiting and at 10:10 she asked Julie if she knew where she was and how long she'd be. Julie FLIPPED OUT and was yelling at my girlfriend. In front of other clients. Saying she was rude for asking and she doesn't know where she is. My friend went to sit down and Julie began (loudly) exclaiming to her clients that they were so easy to work with unlike other customers and she greatly appreciated them. I couldn't believe my ears! Lastly, Susan did probably the worst job at painting my shellac. It literally looks like I did it, she went over my cuticles onto my skin. WTF. You had 1 job. Otherwise, I would've done it myself! I'll never go back. Drive a mile down the street and go to Dash Nails. Better in every way. read more

This is my go to place for manicures and pedicures-- It's cheap, efficient and clean. On the occasion that I want fancy products and pampering, I go somewhere else and pay three times as much. The staff is professional and more than competent. Even my "worst" experience there is much, much better than what you would expect from a strip mall, inexpensive nail salon. read more
