I tried their gelato at the Seed Food and Wine Festival, and it darn near ranks best gelato in my books. The gelato is flavorful, and being organic and sugar free makes it even better. Most of the options are vegan too, except for a few, such as banana peanut butter which has milk in it. Best of all, the ladies serving the gelato are so sweet. I went back in line to try different flavors, and they were like, sure, try all the flavors you want. Umm, I hope you guys didn't regret saying that... This is probably the best ice cream in the world! Amazing flavors, with alternatives for dairy allergies. Every year we start school with an ice cream celebration and my house was full of hungry for ice cream teenagers! We had chocolate, mango, key lime pie and lychee. Dolci Peccati is the self-proclaimed "sweetest truck on the road." This is true not only because of their amazing gelato, but also the family that runs it (and yes, the entire family is on board and in color-coordinated outfits!). I discovered this barely one-week-old truck yesterday at the LaunchArte market on 121 NE 36th Street, semi-across from the Shops at Midtown Miami. It's run by identical twins Natalie and Stefanie, who are as nice as can be, and has fresh gelato in flavors that include Mango, Vanilla, Chocolate (Semi Dark), Key Lime Pie, Almond, Pistachio, Cookies & Cream, Limone, Coconut Grove, Strawberry, Pineapple, Coconut, Dulce De Leche, Expresso, Rum Raisin, Mint Chocolate, Nocciola, and Stracciatela. I had a cone of the Nocciola and, even though I usually find sweets of any kind far too cloying, I ate the entire thing (interspersed with a few dixie cups of the complimentary water they offer). The texture was perfectly creamy and dense, yet surprisingly light. All in all, it rivaled the gelato I ate in several places in Italy. I also spent the whole time it took me to eat the cone chatting with the girls and their family; they're all so very kind and warm...really nice people I am glad to give my business to. I will definitely be back to the LaunchArte market to enjoy their amazing offerings and try new flavors! The ladies also mentioned they join the Miami Food Truck Court at 65th & Bird Road on Tuesdays and Thursdays from around 7 to 10 PM. Sampled at the "GFTA" gathering near the Falls, for me this was the surprise of the night. A gelato truck. To say I wasn't expecting much would be putting it mildly. It is a sweet-looking little truck, though, in its two-tone purple. It's one of the more aesthetically pleasing trucks, probably second only to GastroPod. Yes, there are attractive identical twins running and working this truck. I could just award 5 stars right now with no further explanation ;) Gelato? Who needs gelato? Oh wait, I forgot, I'm supposed to be a tough rater. I don't want to give a 2-star rating, but if all I get on the palate is a cloying, creamy mess of cold goo, that's what it's gonna be. I chose a small cup of Key Lime. I am a vicious critic when it comes to Key Lime anything, so I figured this would be a good tough test. From the first mini-spoon, I could tell that this gelato was superior to any I'd tried previously. To even call it "gelato" is to sell it short. It was true Old Town Key West-style Key Lime Pie, condensed into a frozen dessert and packed into a cup. It was tart, very tart - as any dessert purporting to use actual Key limes should be. Creaminess was there, but played a minor role, only serving as an accent, which is perfect. There were also bits of graham cracker crust throughout; the people behind this truck really did their homework. With this kind of quality, this truck should be around a while. read more

When I was about ready to call it a day and leave the BTTR - I spotted Dolci Peccati's food truck and decided to grab one last item. It was hard to decide between all the tasty options and after a debate, I decided to order the Red Velvet Cake Shake which I didn't regret one bit. It was delicious and a powerful sugar rush. Everyone in the family had a little sip and they were all wishing they had ordered one as well - but alas the line was now quite long and we decided to call it a night. Tried it during the Dealin Wheelin Food truck festival. I was very full from everything else but managed to save a space for their gelato. One of the best gelato I have tried. It actually tastes like the flavor that is supposed to be. Many times I run into places that says the flavor is hazelnut or pistachio but all you can taste is sweet, milky and creamy and not the actual flavor but this place is totally different. They do know how to make some good gelatos. I wish I tried all of their flavors cuz they were so good but I felt bad asking for so many flavors when I was just planning to get the small cup ($3.50). I tried the pistachio, milo, mango (one of my favorites), stracciatela (what I ended up getting). They also have have condensed milk, balsamic syrup (for mango, strawberry) to top your gelato with. I really wanted to try the balsamic syrup but didn't. I'll save it for next time. I can't wait to go back and try coconut, strawberry, chocolate, and the dulce de leche. Not only the sweetest but the cutest truck on the road. Very nice people on board. I just wish I lived closer so I can get some right now. read more

Whenever we pass this truck, my brother always yells out, "The twins"!!! It's a cute truck, and that's what initially brought us to them, even though it was a cold night. We tried the cookies & cream, and despite the cold weather, it still hit the spot. The gelato is smooth and creamy, and I like the sizes that they offer. I love the variety of flavors, the friendly service, and that you can buy larger quantities to take home. I have a feeling that this will be one of of my favorite trucks in the summer. read more

I have tried many flavors and i am always very impressed. The flavors are very unique and rich. They come up with crazy combinations that somehow they work ! Nati is a very nice girl and always very sweet. You can tell for her smile and the way she interacts with the customers that she loves what she does. a couple of weeks ago i order some gelato on a stick (popsicle) and they DELIVER !!! i was super excited to know that. So the fiance and I were at the Fairchild Botanical Gardens today when we saw a woman walk by holding two of the most amazing looking waffle cones. The cones were huge and stuffed with two very color flavors of melty, delicious looking gelato. The fiance and I just looked at each other and with that we made our way over to the Dolci Peccati truck. The gelato was delicious, but the creative flavors are what got to me. I got the lemon ginger mint, it was unusual, slightly spicy and overall awesome. It also had no dairy, but was SO creamy. The fiance got the red velvet, also awesome. Unlike other places lame attempts to make red velvet icecream/ frozen yogurt Dolci Peccati's actually tasted like the cake and not chocolate. That's probably because it had real pieces of red velvet cake mixed in! It was like eating a slice of cake in dairy form. Very, very cool and very yummy. read more

I don't know why, but not that many gelato places are making stracciatella, and it's one of my favorite flavors.The coffee gelato is excellent, too. I'm surprised (and saddened) that they don't have more reviews. Very authentic tasting gelato! We tried the Nocciola and Bacio gelatos and they were super refreshing and very tasty! I was curious about the balsamic glaze they offer, but it's supposed to be used for the more fruity/citric flavors. After dodging the truck only two nights before as my 1 year old wailed "He-la-DOOOOO!!!" (ice cream in Spanish), thinking that $4.50 for a cup might be too much since there were 5 of us, we decided to give it a try since the chalk board menu taunted us with Dulce de Leche Cookies and cream.....what?! All in one you ask....YES! All in one! Hook, line and sinker! It was a definite winner. I had been leaning towards the coconut since its my gelato go-to flavor and the lovely lady at the window offered the perfect soltuon, you can do half scoops. Perfect! So we ordered up a large coconut and cookies and cream dulce de leche at $4.50 with a few spoons. The serving was big enough for us to share with our youngest (the other two had picked another truck to sample sweets from) so a large for almost three of us worked out just fine. The texture was smooth and creamy and blended perfectly together even though at first it felt like it would be way too much. The cookies and cream had large chunks of oreos and a swirl of dulce de leche cutting through it all with a nice big ball on the bottom to give an extra kick of sweetness when needed. The coconut tasted fresh and not grainy which made me happy for my choice. Looking forward to whatever other flavors might pop up at this truly sweet truckers treat. read more
