I came here with a friend on a Monday night. Very quick service and it was quiet but busy. There is seating on the inside and a few tables outside as well. I ordered a regular-sized Thai Coconut and Peanut Butter Mash, which was expensive ($8) and I would say not worth it. The Peanut Butter Mash was delicious, but the Thai Coconut genuinely had no coconut taste to it. My friend ordered it as well and she couldn't taste any coconut either. Yummy! Awesome little cafe you can step into to get a quick chai, latte, coffee, snack, or frozen treats! We popped in on a rainy day in DC to step out of the weather and were so glad we did! The options for food snacks and beverages was right up our alley! My husband got the Chai, which had amazing flavor, but wasn't too overwhelming. I opted for an old fashioned bottle of Coca-Cola. Fun fact: I grew up in the city the patent for Coke was created! I think they are way better in a bottle and sometimes hard to find! I used to work a block away from this Dolcezza location. The gelato and sorbet here are break-your-diet good. Actually, it is why-bother-having-a-diet-when-this-exists good. While indoor dining is allowed, this location was only open for mobile orders to go or to be enjoyed on the few tables outside. Ordering was simple: scan the QR code, view the toasttab menu, order and pay. They must be received instantaneously because an employee brought out our scoop no later than a minute after. Good because all patience goes out the door here. Yes, it is pricy at $6 for a small scoop, but just so worth it. The Pineapple Honey Lime sorbet is delicious - you can taste each ingredient in every spoonful. Reading their entire menu is like a wishlist of must-trys: honey tangerine, blueberry lemon thyme, lemon opal basil, and so on. Insert heart eyes emoji here. read more

How sad...the place looks beautiful, very classy, very trendy, but the employees treat you like they're doing you a favor... Certainly not kid friendly. We came to DC for vacation and I've been looking at this place since we arrived. They do not have a high chair for babies, so you can't come with kids. Espresso: I got an espresso, extremely sour! This comes from people that don't know how to properly make an espresso. Regular coffee: just a fancy cup, the coffee it self it's sour and no more than average. Ambiance: 4/5 - Cute little gelato and coffee shop located at City Center in DC and super close to Chinatown too. There are stools, tables and chairs available for dine-in. Outdoor seating are also available. Great atmosphere and super clean. Great location for a rest in DC for some treats. Price: 4/5 - The iced americano came up to be around $4. I didn't add any milk to it, but I think they offer oat, whole milk, soy, and almond milk for additional $1. I usually like my coffee black, so didn't really matter to me. I think maybe I was spoiled by Pitango, which I had just a few days before, and the flavors here were just not very strong. I ended up getting the guava pastelito which had guava jam and pastry in it as well as the black and white cookie batter. I visited this coffee shop/gelato parlor 3 times (twice for gelato towards the evening and once in the morning) while in DC for a conference recently. Their gelato options were delicious in my opinion. It seemed to me that they may rotate their flavors. Love that they give samples before deciding which flavors to choose from. It's also located near the high end stores where it's nicely decorated for pictures. My morning coffee run with a peer was not as pleasant. The server (eb....) seemed to have an annoyed attitude towards us when we inquired about the menu (not a local so we had questions on drink sizes and their drinks). The shop was not busy at all so I was kind of embarrassed for my coworker who i had invited. My coworker even made a comment about the server being rude. Regardless i would still recommend for a gelato pit stop. read more

Coffee Review: So this morning I got a nitro and I will not be getting it again for these reasons: 1. SOOOOOOO expensive $4.95 (including tax) - ouch...like seriously? 2. Bad value: 8oz cup - maybe 6oz, it's really freaking small. 3. Super sour, even after eating breakfast and brushing my teeth I can't get this sour taste out of my mouth. After having the pure black draft at La Colombe for $3.50 (including tax)(12oz?) or Compass Coffee Nitro Cold Brew for $3.85 (including tax)(largest size-16oz?). Both are super creamy and taste great with or without ice and you're getting 1,000,000x better value than Dolcezza. read more

This gelato tastes incredible! Their ordering system during covid has you order online, and they'll open the door and call your name when it's ready. You can add up to three flavors in a pint - I ordered mascarpone and berries, cookies and coffee, and pistachio in mine. The only reason I took off a star is because my pint didn't include the pistachio flavor I ordered. It was fine, because the other two flavors were amazing, but it would've been nice if that had been mentioned when I was handed my order, or asked if I wanted to switch it with another flavor if they were out. This may be considered blasphemy, but I thought their pistachio was on par with what I had in Italy. This is a pretty lively coffee gelato spot in downtown. We walked in on a Friday around dinner time and it was pretty crowded. Almost every bar spot was taken. If you are like me looking for something sweet, light and high quality, I recommend this place highly. There are not as many choices as Basking Robins would have, but each one of them made with care. Price: it is located in the highly sought after area of the capital of the nation. Expect to be higher than what you would get in your home town. Service: saw two servers in front room around 1pm on Friday. They might be having a bad day, it is odd to see no inviting smile from them.
