However, the lattes and regular coffees and are excellent. The frozen coffees are like a combination of coffee and milkshakes. They taste great, but might be less healthy than a coffee that is slushy iced based. The pastries are fresh, and from a source that seems like homemade food or from a bakery. One thing that could be improved is they could add healthy options for food. Being a diabetic, I sometimes pick a different place because of this. I may have seemed more harsh than I wanted in this review, so please try it for yourself. It is definitely my favorite place in town for coffee as of this writing.

The shop itself is a decent size with both indoor and outdoor seating. Everything seemed clean with no dirty tables. The short line ( had two people ahead and one of them didn't order drinks) moved quickly, but it took almost 20 minutes to get my drink, even though it wasn't that busy and there was only one person ahead of me that ordered drinks. Turns out most of the delay was due to online orders. Call me old-fashioned, but I think customers standing right in front of you should be served first. That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming it's clear they're just following the policies set by management. Despite the unnecessary wait, my Fireside Latte was excellent. As well as the expresso scone. I guess good things come to those who wait however I don't think I wait again .. it would have been nice if they had mentioned something. I ordered a no foam chai latte and maple coffee cake. My husband got a hot Americano and maple bacon oatmeal. My chai tasted wonderful and the temp was good. However the cup was light. It was 1/3 full with foam. I brought it back to the barista and asked her if she could remove the foam. She joyfully scraped it off but then I had a cup that was 2/3 full. I expected her to top it off with hot milk but she didn't offer and pushed the cup toward me. I'll say that Starbucks started charging for no foam and I don't mind. I'd rather pay a $0.25 to have a cup full than not. The food was luke warm. The maple coffee cake was delicious. We ended up splitting it because the oatmeal was overtaken by bacon that he couldn't really taste the maple. It was a great idea in theory, Will we be back? Yes, because it's locally owned and a small business. It's conveniently located next to our dog groomer. Jax is not my first go to though. Because the owner came out and actually asked for feed back on it.
