Very argent. Purchased an Amazon Local Coupon... they would not take an order...you get what's left. I purchased one for my niece and she had to come and get her own since I could not redeem both coupons. I asked if they would be open on Sunday and she assured me they were open every Sunday., This was the Wed before Labor Day...We both drove there from Chili Center to find that it was CLOSED!! I couldn't seem to find a page on Yelp for the Park Ave location, so I thought I would share a review on here. As a dedicated Cupcake Wars viewer, I was excited to try Dolce. The service and atmosphere was friendly. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the flavor choices. Most of them were pretty boring, typical choices. I went with the cannoli cupcake and it was good, but I really expected better. The cake wasn't that moist but the filling and frosting was good. I might have to stop by again to see if any other flavors are available at the time that catch my eye! read more

It's cute and so are the cupcakes. And they have gluten free options. But sadly the cakes are dry and the frosting is way too sugary for my taste. Plus a bit overpriced but I imagine their overhead is high. They have to compete with the likes of Wegmans, village bakery and pittsford dairy - all within about a half mile radius. Gotta be a tough gig. Worth giving them a try and forming your own opinion, though. read more

I wanted to try this place for Valentines day 2013. I called the Park Ave store and they let me know what flavors they had for the day. I told them I would like to put 2 aside and I would come in right after work. The girl on the phone took my name and my number and let me know that they would be only open until 6pm. I assured her I would be there around 5 or shortly after. I arrived at the store at 5:15 and there was a note on the door that they had closed because they "ran out" of cupcakes due to the high demand. What happened to the 2 she set aside for me? Why did they take my name and phone number and not call to let me know they were closing? What if I would not have come and picked up my cupcakes on a regular night that they did not close early? Would they have called me then? I was very upset because this was for Valentine's day. The next day I called to talk to the owner/manager and the girl on the phone told me "she is in the back"....ummkay?? I left my number and name again and received no response. I will NEVER go to this place and I will inform everyone of the poor customer service I received. read more

I can only speak to the GF cupcake varieties and they are fabulous. A couple of flavors are, also, egg-free. They are far better than most GF and egg-free products I have had in the past. The cream cheese frosting is smooth, flavorful, and not too sweet. I have served the GF cupcakes to non-GF guests and everybody has loved them. I am visiting Pittsford for the first time on a working vacation. As any good foodie worth their salt I scoured my temporary home for the best food hunts and while out walking by the Erie Canal stumbled across this gem.Tucked away in a little village type setting of shops and restaurants by the Canal in Pttsford on State St is Dolce.The best cupcake Bakery that Kicks Crumbs Bakeshop ass!...I said it...all hype....I love the PeanutButter Bliss...the cupcakes are moist and the frostings not cloying and compliment the cupcakes...a must try also is Cannolli Cream....they even top it with a few pieces of cannolli crust!....It is clean and the staff is friendly and I have only been there twice but each time was treated like a VIP and all I bought was a cupcake and coffee on the first and it was being brewed so they gave me a large for waiting and on my next visit 10/19/11 I was chatting with the owner and when I was leaving since it was closing time she gave me 4 cupcakes for free!...now that is how you run a buisness!....if ever you are in Pittsford or you live nearby go to Dolce Cupcakery! read more

I am a cupcake snob. When I go to new cities one of the first things I do is search for cupcakes. I have a cupcake tattoo. People buy me cupcake memorbilla for gifts. I really love cupcakes, and I have had many good cupcakes in my day and many bad. I must say that these are in the top 3 best. Usually when I get cupcakes either their frosting is really good or the cake is really good but not both, at Dolce they are both consistently good. I have tried the cookies and cream, vanilla, chocolate chip, and banana carmel. So far the cookies and cream wins followed by the vanilla. Their chocolate cake is a bit better than their vanilla but both are good. Their buttercream is perfect. I love this place. Their prices are reasonable ($2.75 I think) Also I forgot to mention I have never been to the Pittsford location, that this review is for the new Park Ave location. read more

I've been here a couple of times. I came several years ago with my dad (who was very impressed) and again today with my husband (who was only slightly impressed, but he's not a sweets person). I've been impressed both times I came here. I've tried peanut butter cupcakes before that just have a hint of peanut butter flavor but this one had an INSANE amount of peanut butter flavor. The frosting was so flavorful and so silky, it was amazing. The cake was fairly average chocolate cake but it was still good. The triple berry cheesecake was definitely my kind of cupcake. It had a frosting that really tasted like cheesecake only much sweeter. There were berries on top and a berry type filling though that offset that sweetness some and made it absolutely perfect. The girl that was working was insanely friendly too and tried to accommodate us in everything we needed. Overall I've really enjoyed coming here and will continue to. read more

Love their chocolate peanut butter cupcakes - the best thing around. Compared to other cupcakeries, I think Dolce is definitely the best. Not too sweet, not too dry, definitely has flavor, and the quality of the frosting job is always first rate. Packing each cupcake in its own individual box is a nice touch, too. read more

I've read great reviews for this place. I went there today and thought the cupcakes looked amazing. I bough 10 cupcakes of all different flavors. Went I tasted the cupcakes I was completely shocked. The frosting tasted like candlewax and left a waxy film in my mouth. The actual cupcake tasted worse than a box cake. What an utter disappointment! These cupcakes were disappointing. I don't have a favorite cupcake shop in the Rochester area. I've had cupcakes at Wegman's and Tops, but I was hoping for something better. I purchased two cupcakes selling for approximately $2.95 each. I tried a vanilla and the Momma Bear (Devil's Food Cake with cream cheese frosting). The vanilla cupcake was dry, the edges were crunchy, and the icing was flavorless. The Momma Bear was a basic Devil's Food Cake that could be made with any cake mix from the grocery store. There was nothing special about this cupcake. The cream cheese frosting was a little weird. I don't think I've ever experienced that particular texture before. Needless to say, I will keep looking for amazing cupcakes. read more

Not a fan. I pre-ordered a dozen cupcakes, and when I went to pick them up I was told I would have to wait, because they had run out. Ok. However, the woman behind the counter was unable to tell me even approximately when I would be able to come back to pick them up. Since it was for a baby shower that day, I left sans cupcakes. Around 5:00, I recieved a phone call from Dolce, telling me that my order was ready. When I reminded her that I had already been in - and why I had left empty-handed - the woman seemed upset and told me they were going to have to throw them away (contrary to the statement on the website that says all unsold cupcakes are donated to area shelters). The whole experience was unprofessional, and I would caution anyone planning to use them for an event. When I first tried this place several years ago, it was fantastic!! I would dream of the cupcakes. I don't know what happened!! They completely botched an advance order for my birthday which I placed a month in advance and paid for the day before. Here's part of the confusion that they need to get a better system in place for: They only have one phone number for two locations! So, you HAVE to call the Pittsford location. I needed to pick-up at the Park Avenue location. I confirmed this the day I ordered and THREE times the day before (the woman on the phone laughed at me and said "YES. I get it. Park Avenue." Well...went to pick up the order and...NO CUPCAKES. The man working had no idea what I was talking about! After many phone calls and aggravation, they said I could go to Pittsford to get them. Not an option! Finally, they agreed to deliver them to the party location (late). The person dropped them with the wait staff at the entrance to the restaurant. I'm sorry. But, you should have enough class to apologize for the mistake in person. To top everything off, the cupcake frosting tasted like LARD!! No flavor but lard and shortening. It was disgusting! AND, the cupcakes I ordered were supposed to be Gluten free because three people present have Celiac Disease. Two of the three got sick. The third person didn't have a cupcake...Could be coincidental but... $90 for 2 dozen cupcakes is a lot of money and if the product was as it used to be, it would have been worth it. Super rude customer service. I stopped in for the first time last week and was looking forward to having a treat. There were 3 or 4 cupcake choices with a sign behind them reading "$3.50 or $4.00." I didn't think much of it, picked a cupcake and went to pay. The total came to $5. I paid, then I asked for a few plastic spoons. The woman working there was clearly annoyed that I asked for 3 spoons- her body language and facial expressions were ridiculous. My sister then politely asked why it was $5 when the sign said lower prices. The worker was beyond rude when she responded. She just kept saying in an agitated, aggressive voice that they are running a special this weekend, and they do it every year, and this is a special. She was just awful. And it didn't even make sense. I wanted to say, "so the special is MORE money than normal?" So much for a fun dessert. I can't believe someone would treat customers like that. I am a cake snob! And I must say this is the best cupcakery in Rochester Area. I am a Swiss/ Italian meringue buttercream frosting fan, and this is what they have. Not many bakeries take the time and money to do this kind of frosting. I do not like the overly sweet, shortening type of frosting that a lot of other bakeries offer. Their creamcheese frosting is on point! Nice and cheesy and not too sweet. They seem to run out of cupcakes if you go towards closing, but they are all very fresh as they make them daily. Presentaion is great too! I must say the best vanilla cupcake I have ever had. You can taste the real butter and see the specs of vanilla paste, which is rare. Must vanilla cupcakes are tasteless and yellow. This is by far the best bakery and am confused by the bad reviews. Better priced than Sugar Mnt too. Will def be back. Can't wait for good weather to walk along canal and get some cupcakes! read more
