Dohenys Pool store has very reasonable prices, along with great customer service. They are very knowledgable about a customers needs and explain everything in an understandable language. I was able to get my pool up and running with their directions in no time. Very very helpful staff. I will be going back here next Summer for all my needs. read more

I purchased the Doheny's 18' x 36' Solid Winter Pool Cover advertised with a 10-year warranty. When my pool maintenance company arrived to close my pool, they discovered that the cover was ripped and could not be used. As a result, they could not complete the closing, I was charged an additional fee for them to return, and I had to purchase another pool cover directly from them so my pool could be closed. When I contacted Doheny's, I was initially told to email customer service and provide photos. When I explained that I no longer needed a replacement because I had already been forced to purchase another cover, I requested a refund instead. I was then told that in order to receive a refund, I would need to cut an 8" x 10" section out of the cover and send it to Doheny's. I understand that a company may want proof that a defective product has been destroyed, but requiring a customer to cut up and mail a section of an already visibly damaged cover seems unnecessarily burdensome, especially when photos clearly document the damage. I also asked to speak with a supervisor and was told to send an email instead. I have been a loyal Doheny's customer for more than 15 years, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. A product sold with a 10-year warranty should not result in the customer paying additional pool-service fees, purchasing another cover out of necessity, and then going through an inconvenient process just to request a refund. At this point, I am not asking for another cover. I am asking Doheny's to stand behind the product and provide a refund. Very disappointed in both the product and the way this issue has been handled. read more

Wish I could leave a ZERO. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I tried to cancel an order after a few hours after I placed the order realizing that I could not store the pool chemicals safely in my home or built-in garage. That Chlorine starts to weaken in 95 plus degrees. I live in Arizona where its already over a hundred degrees. I called a few hours after I placed the order however they were closed already on a Saturday. I sent texts, emails and tried to call numerous times. The next day again I tried to call a SUNDAY. They refused to cancel my order and said that I had to pay for shipping yet it had NOT BEEN SHIPPED YET. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVER HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES . RIP OFF RIP OFF RIP OFF read more

I ordered a solar pool cover. It arrived six months ago. I put it on the pool four months ago. And now I've had to take it off the pool and throw it away because the bubbles are all coming unattached from the cover and floating around my pool, clogging my filter. If you order these covers, be sure you look at the warranty... It's almost like nothing is warranted, including bubble issues. They told me it might be my chemicals, but I have a technician who comes in every week and so I do believe my chemicals are perfect. Only four months old and I'm having to throw it away. I am absolutely giving this zero stars, but I have to give it a one star in order to have the rating show. read more

Customer service won't replace my defective ($1600) pump because they indicate that even though it's been less than a year since purchase, I have to deal directly with Pentair for the warranty. Pentair won't do anything because I bought it from Doheny's. They do not stand by the products that they sell. Buyer beware! read more

Stay far away from Doheny's. They do not care about customer satisfaction at all. We have purchased numerous pool supplies over the years through them, but when we needed to replace our filter, we should have gone elsewhere. Our filter has never worked it vibrate so loud that we can't run it because the neighbors would complain. We have been on the phone with them for over a year about this and they do not want to do anything about it. They're only solution is for us to send it in and for them to send us a new one so we would be without a filter for two weeks and we can't do that in June or our pool will be Green a filter should last longer than 12 months and they should back up their products if you're going to make a major purchase for your pool do not make it at this company. read more

Very bad business !! Purchased from this place and the day the item supposedly was delivered to my address, it was no where to be found. Horrible experience. Placed an order for a product i needed stat due to a chemical reaction. Website said one day delivery, place order, get confirmation and it says 4 days delivery and has some random address on it for delivery that isn't mine. The address is in a city two hours away from me. I contact them and they said they can't update the address but if I pay $20 they can TRY. No refund, nothing. This product will be delivered to some random house two hours away and I'm simply out the money. Zero customer service just don't purchase from them. I wish I had read reviews FIRST. read more

I purchased a pump basket for $33 and it arrived today. The dimensions are almost identical, except my situation calls for a little ledge on one-side. When I reached out to return it, they said they do not accepts returns on this item because it is shipped 3rd party. There is nothing mentioned on the item page, and you can not tell the basket is different by the single picture. We have had our pool for about 7 years, and used Dohenys almost every year for parts and accesories. I will not be purchasing from them again. read more

I received a 25lb bucket of chlorine tablets, more 50% of the tablets were broken and some completely destroyed (powder). I agree with a previous comment that Doheny doesn't care about the product shipping and makes no effort to protect it during shipping. I will likely look to get tablet somewhere else going forward. read more

Ordered a pool cover, 18x36. It came 18x35. We went back and forth with Doheneys. Finally after sending them a video showing the problem, they sent me a second cover. This one was 18x34.5, shorter than the original. Don't buy a pool cover from Doheney's! it will be too short. Two experiences! read more

They do not stand behind their products.. I purchased the 50lbs tablets. Started using them as soon as they opened my pool... Kept testing the water no Chlorine showed, I used the whole 50lbs with no results of chlorine.... I took my water to my local pool place & they also didn t show it had any. So I bought theirs & it started testing with chlorine.. My pool place opens & closed my pool every year so they put all the chemicals that its needs as soon as it opens.. but i had bought the tables because Doheny's had them on sale.... I called Doheny's they said to sena the test results to them & that would see what they could do. Well they say my pool was unstable & they would not give me a refund.... Now my pool when they tested the water what ever that pool needed besides chlorine I bought. So Doheny's is just making excuses to not refund.. I will never purchase from them again.. I'm paying a lot more for my tablets but a sale isnt worth it if they don't work.. very poor customer service .. read more

I bought a 50lb container of chlorine tabs and over 3/4 of the container had broken tabs. I contacted customer service and was told I could be refunded minus the tabs I used and had to FED EX the container back in order to receive the refund. Serious? I would stay away from this terrible customer service. read more

I purchased a 25 lb container 3" chlorine tabs. 90% of the individually wrapped tabs were broken into several (and usually many) pieces. This has happened before. I conclude that Doheny doesn't care how their product arrives at a customers home. Under these circumstance, reduced pricing is less important to me. I doubt that I will order chlorine tabs from Doheny again. read more

Spent extra money to buy a solar cover for my above ground pool. stated it was an 8 year warranty. bought it 2 years ago and it has fallen apart. I would buy the cheapest one since it will probably only last a couple years anyway. my warranty claim was denied. read more

I would rate it no stars if I could. Worst customer service I've ever had. I ordered Zeron paint for a pool, they sent me the wrong item. Fine, people make mistakes, I get it. I called their customer service and had it corrected and immediately shipped back the item they sent me in error instead of the paint. They didn't ship my paint. I called 2 days later and couldn't get an answer. 3 days later I find they hadn't shipped the right item yet. No urgency about getting me what I need, no compensation, would not overnight to correct the mistake. Even as I write this I'm still not sure they shipped it. Keep in mind this isn't normal paint, this is 144 dollar per gallon paint. Use any other company besides this. They will take your money but they don't care about getting you what you need. read more

I purchased a solid pool cover with a warranty of 3 yrs 100% and 10 yrs limited in Sep of 2023. This cover proved to be inferior and didn't withstand one season without failing. There were numerous holes, stretch breaks and tares throughout the cover. I contacted Doheny customer service and complied with there instructions to furnish a few pictures of the problem areas to their DEI section for a resolution. After waiting till December with no reply I contacted them again and was told the pictures were inadequate. I resubmitted the same pictures with an additional two of the full pool. I was then told the pictures showed no signs of manufacturer defect. They went on to state "misuse of cover and acts of Mother Nature, including weather damage, improper installation are not covered under the manufacture warranty." Funny how they can discern this without inspection and from the very same photos originally submitted. I've been covering pools for over 40 yrs without incident, for them to insinuate "misuse" is totally insulting to a long time customer and to state "weather damage" what do they thing they are selling. It's a solid cover to protect the pool during the off season to say the least it should have stood up for at least 1 of 10 years. The only thing worse than this obvious inferior product was the unprofessional response and lack of accountability for there product. Do not buy this junk and think twice about Doheny Pool Supplies! read more

Doheny's has the worst customer service of all pool stores. They require the customer to have the knowledge and ask all the right questions. I purchased a pool pump after asking the rep if the pump would be the model to replace my old one. Because I didn't know I had to ask if it had a side release. Even after I told him the exact model I was using and suspected they would know something like that. He sold me on the Doheny brand pump. Except it doesn't fit my current filter like he lead me to believe. As he stated it's the exact same pump basically. I contacted them for a return which I thought was processed smoothly. Until I received another pump that I never asked for in the mail which is the same model and again doesn't fit. I was told I was returning the pump. It would take 1-3 days to process. Then I can order a new one. I contact them to now return this one to finally get the pump that fits my system. Even though the first return was processed without a fee. The manager Jasmine tells me I now have to pay the shipping and a 20% stocking fee. To return a pump I never should 've received. She says she read the chat and because she determined the agent only thought I was asking about the specs of the pump and not if it fit my system. She refused to waive the fees. So, just know the Doheny's customer service will interrogate you and examine every word said in a chat to justify charging you to return items. They do not exchange items so that's not an option. If dealing with them just know customer service isn't a high priority for them. Along with attitude from the management Jasmine who acted as if a request to waive that fee was so out of this world. I would give zero stars if possible. On top of it all they only give credit to use with them. So, no real reason for them to be nice once you've purchased from them. They've already got your money. I just recommend none of my loved ones do business with them. It's not because they were mean. It's the interrogating a customer and examining every word said in the chat that put me off. When all I was going to do is spend more money with you read more

You apparently drop ship a solar reel strap kit from a vendor so I am unable to return the product because it is under $40 so I have to take the loss. You advertise about #1 in Quality and Service and say Quality guaranteed yet your return policies are outdated and serve to take my money for a product I don't want. This is the WORST return policy I've ever seen. They simply are taking your money with now guarantee of Customer Service whatsoever. This is a ridiculous policy that takes money from customers and doesn't accept returns because they don't want to deal with their own suppliers. They hide behind the statement that they can't return to their vendor. They told me, after voicing my concerns, quite loudly, that they would give me a one time exception but would need to wait for an email in the next several days with return instructions. I will never order from Doheny's again. They are penny-wise and pound -foolish as I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars their over the years. Good bye Doheny - won't belong and Amazon and Costco, with easy and convenient return policies will take your business. read more

The first order was great. The second order was duplicated! Customer service was the worst I have encountered in many years. Wisconsin company uses foreign call center obviously to exploit cheap labor rather than employ Americans. All CSR did was apologize constantly and keep telling me it was my fault. Of course when I called the manufacturer they told me I had to deal with the distributor (Doheny's). Most helpful pool supplier in the area. Their competition does not compare. They are very helpful and knowledgeable compared to Hansen's.

I purchased a multport valve for my sand filter last year. Within a few months, it began leaking water out of the waste water port while running in filter mode. I called Doheny's and asked if there was a repair procedure. They said that it needed to be replaced. I received the replacement multiport valve and installed it. Within a few months it was leaking from the waste water port again. I called Doheny's customer care and again asked if there was a repair procedure or if I would have to replace it again under warranty. I was told that policy is that parts will only be replaced under warranty once. I then asked again if there is a repair procedure. The guy on the phone said that I would need to speak with "technical support". I politely asked to be transferred to "technical support". I was told that they don't have Technical Support. WTF? I politely told the guy that he has been no help and the next time I need pool equipment I would not be buying them from Doheny's. BEWARE!!! ENDLESS SPAM and junk snail-mail! So I ordered a bucket of chlorine tabs (Luckily, before the prices went totally insane), and they arrived in a timely manner and were great. Good, right? What's the problem, you ask? The problem is that since ordering that one item almost a year ago, they have not ceased spamming me with snail-mail catalogs [Almost every. single. week!] and junk emails several times a week! No matter how many times I "unsubscribe" [I was very careful to uncheck all of the right boxes when ordering, so as to never have subscribed in the first place] a week or two later the spam starts yet again! After 15 minutes they found the order which was "sent for review by their computer" because I was a new customer. Then I was told that since I was in CA, order wouldn't arrive for 5-7 days. I have used dohenys in the past and they used to be good. I ordered an above ground cover in early August. I got emails a week or two later saying the item was backordered with a promised delivery date. Date came and went, no delivery. More emails, more promises. Well over a month after another missed delivery date, I called dohenys. Finally, a really rude operator named taeshia tells me the item is no longer available. Weeks after I should have closed the pool I had to call them to find out. Terrible customer service. Unreliable company. The item is STILL listed in the new catalog I just received. Horrible behind the times return policy... In a world where with worry free returns everywhere, Doheny's doesn't hold up. I bought a pool vacuum for $170. It didn't work that great, so I decided to take advantage of what was advertised as a 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED return policy. Well... It is true, I could get a full refund. This review is for Doheny's Pool Supplies in general. I purchased a 16' x 32' solar pool cover on 6/2 6/2018. This cover had a 7 year warranty with the first and second year full free replacement. Second year would end on 6/26/2020. The cover is just disintegrating. Can't take it out of the pool without it tearing. Tried to contact D.E.I which is the contact for the warranty. No answer on the phone in 3 tries with over 1 hour on hold. Tried to contact Doheny's by phone, same lack of results. Sent an e-mail on 6/10/2020. No response. Sent another on 6/16/2020 still no response. Spent another hour on the phone to both D.E.I. and Doheny's on 6/23. Full warranty ends in 3 days. This company is a fraud.
