I tried to cancel an order after a few hours after I placed the order realizing that I could not store the pool chemicals safely in my home or built-in garage. That Chlorine starts to weaken in 95 plus degrees. I live in Arizona where its already over a hundred degrees. I called a few hours after I placed the order however they were closed already on a Saturday. I sent texts, emails and tried to call numerous times. The next day again I tried to call a SUNDAY. Customer service won't replace my defective ($1600) pump because they indicate that even though it's been less than a year since purchase, I have to deal directly with Pentair for the warranty. Stay far away from Doheny's. They do not care about customer satisfaction at all. We have purchased numerous pool supplies over the years through them, but when we needed to replace our filter, we should have gone elsewhere. Our filter has never worked it vibrate so loud that we can't run it because the neighbors would complain. We have been on the phone with them for over a year about this and they do not want to do anything about it. They're only solution is for us to send it in and for them to send us a new one so we would be without a filter for two weeks and we can't do that in June or our pool will be Green a filter should last longer than 12 months and they should back up their products if you're going to make a major purchase for your pool do not make it at this company. read more

Horrible experience. Placed an order for a product i needed stat due to a chemical reaction. Website said one day delivery, place order, get confirmation and it says 4 days delivery and has some random address on it for delivery that isn't mine. The address is in a city two hours away from me. I contact them and they said they can't update the address but if I pay $20 they can TRY. No refund, nothing. I purchased a pump basket for $33 and it arrived today. The dimensions are almost identical, except my situation calls for a little ledge on one-side. When I reached out to return it, they said they do not accepts returns on this item because it is shipped 3rd party. There is nothing mentioned on the item page, and you can not tell the basket is different by the single picture. We have had our pool for about 7 years, and used Dohenys almost every year for parts and accesories. I will not be purchasing from them again. read more

They do not stand behind their products.. I purchased the 50lbs tablets. Started using them as soon as they opened my pool... Kept testing the water no Chlorine showed, I used the whole 50lbs with no results of chlorine.... I took my water to my local pool place & they also didn t show it had any. So I bought theirs & it started testing with chlorine.. My pool place opens & closed my pool every year so they put all the chemicals that its needs as soon as it opens.. but i had bought the tables because Doheny's had them on sale.... I called Doheny's they said to sena the test results to them & that would see what they could do. Well they say my pool was unstable & they would not give me a refund.... Now my pool when they tested the water what ever that pool needed besides chlorine I bought. So Doheny's is just making excuses to not refund.. I will never purchase from them again.. I received a 25lb bucket of chlorine tablets, more 50% of the tablets were broken and some completely destroyed (powder). I agree with a previous comment that Doheny doesn't care about the product shipping and makes no effort to protect it during shipping. Ordered a pool cover, 18x36. It came 18x35. We went back and forth with Doheneys. Finally after sending them a video showing the problem, they sent me a second cover. I bought a 50lb container of chlorine tabs and over 3/4 of the container had broken tabs. I contacted customer service and was told I could be refunded minus the tabs I used and had to FED EX the container back in order to receive the refund. Serious? I'm supposed to take a 50lb remaining bucket of broken tabs to FED EX after I package? I already jumped through their hoops providing pictures and description? I conclude that Doheny doesn't care how their product arrives at a customers home. Under these circumstance, reduced pricing is less important to me. Spent extra money to buy a solar cover for my above ground pool. stated it was an 8 year warranty. bought it 2 years ago and it has fallen apart. Very bad material..shredded. so.. don't pay the extra for the warranty because it only covers stuff like the seams. I purchased a solid pool cover with a warranty of 3 yrs 100% and 10 yrs limited in Sep of 2023. This cover proved to be inferior and didn't withstand one season without failing. There were numerous holes, stretch breaks and tares throughout the cover. I contacted Doheny customer service and complied with there instructions to furnish a few pictures of the problem areas to their DEI section for a resolution. After waiting till December with no reply I contacted them again and was told the pictures were inadequate. I resubmitted the same pictures with an additional two of the full pool. I was then told the pictures showed no signs of manufacturer defect. They went on to state "misuse of cover and acts of Mother Nature, including weather damage, improper installation are not covered under the manufacture warranty." Funny how they can discern this without inspection and from the very same photos originally submitted. I've been covering pools for over 40 yrs without incident, for them to insinuate "misuse" is totally insulting to a long time customer and to state "weather damage" what do they thing they are selling. It's a solid cover to protect the pool during the off season to say the least it should have stood up for at least 1 of 10 years. The only thing worse than this obvious inferior product was the unprofessional response and lack of accountability for there product. I would rate it no stars if I could. Worst customer service I've ever had. I ordered Zeron paint for a pool, they sent me the wrong item. Fine, people make mistakes, I get it. I called their customer service and had it corrected and immediately shipped back the item they sent me in error instead of the paint. They didn't ship my paint. I called 2 days later and couldn't get an answer. 3 days later I find they hadn't shipped the right item yet. No urgency about getting me what I need, no compensation, would not overnight to correct the mistake. Even as I write this I'm still not sure they shipped it. Keep in mind this isn't normal paint, this is 144 dollar per gallon paint. Use any other company besides this. They will take your money but they don't care about getting you what you need. read more

Doheny's has the worst customer service of all pool stores. They require the customer to have the knowledge and ask all the right questions. I purchased a pool pump after asking the rep if the pump would be the model to replace my old one. Because I didn't know I had to ask if it had a side release. Even after I told him the exact model I was using and suspected they would know something like that. He sold me on the Doheny brand pump. Except it doesn't fit my current filter like he lead me to believe. As he stated it's the exact same pump basically. I contacted them for a return which I thought was processed smoothly. Until I received another pump that I never asked for in the mail which is the same model and again doesn't fit. I was told I was returning the pump. It would take 1-3 days to process. Then I can order a new one. I contact them to now return this one to finally get the pump that fits my system. Even though the first return was processed without a fee. The manager Jasmine tells me I now have to pay the shipping and a 20% stocking fee. To return a pump I never should 've received. She says she read the chat and because she determined the agent only thought I was asking about the specs of the pump and not if it fit my system. She refused to waive the fees. So, just know the Doheny's customer service will interrogate you and examine every word said in a chat to justify charging you to return items. They do not exchange items so that's not an option. If dealing with them just know customer service isn't a high priority for them. Along with attitude from the management Jasmine who acted as if a request to waive that fee was so out of this world. I would give zero stars if possible. On top of it all they only give credit to use with them. So, no real reason for them to be nice once you've purchased from them. They've already got your money. You apparently drop ship a solar reel strap kit from a vendor so I am unable to return the product because it is under $40 so I have to take the loss. You advertise about #1 in Quality and Service and say Quality guaranteed yet your return policies are outdated and serve to take my money for a product I don't want. This is the WORST return policy I've ever seen. They simply are taking your money with now guarantee of Customer Service whatsoever. This is a ridiculous policy that takes money from customers and doesn't accept returns because they don't want to deal with their own suppliers. They hide behind the statement that they can't return to their vendor. They told me, after voicing my concerns, quite loudly, that they would give me a one time exception but would need to wait for an email in the next several days with return instructions. Wisconsin company uses foreign call center obviously to exploit cheap labor rather than employ Americans. All CSR did was apologize constantly and keep telling me it was my fault. TERRIBLE customer service and awful product quality. They were 4 months late delivering pool tablets that I ordered in the summer. Then when they arrived, the entire 50 pound bucket of tablets was busted. most of the tablets were totally disintegrated into poweder that spilled out of the busted bags as soon as you removed them from the bucket. I purchased a SR Smith Tru-Tread replacement diving board. The price was fair as well as the shipping but the board is not to my liking. It is WAY stiffer than the board that I replaced. I called customer service to ask how I could rectify this and they told me I had to call the manufacturer.... Of course when I called the manufacturer they told me I had to deal with the distributor (Doheny's). Then the second time I called Doheny's they told me that the return window was closed and offered no other assistance. I purchased a multport valve for my sand filter last year. Within a few months, it began leaking water out of the waste water port while running in filter mode. I called Doheny's and asked if there was a repair procedure. They said that it needed to be replaced. I received the replacement multiport valve and installed it. Within a few months it was leaking from the waste water port again. I called Doheny's customer care and again asked if there was a repair procedure or if I would have to replace it again under warranty. I was told that policy is that parts will only be replaced under warranty once. I then asked again if there is a repair procedure. The guy on the phone said that I would need to speak with "technical support". I politely asked to be transferred to "technical support". I was told that they don't have Technical Support. WTF? I politely told the guy that he has been no help and the next time I need pool equipment I would not be buying them from Doheny's. Needed a pool pump ASAP. They said they would send it FedEx and I would get it in one or two days. Their call center is apparently out of country. I placed my order and was told I would get a confirmation email. Email never came and credit card was not charged. I called next day and was told no order was placed. After 15 minutes they found the order which was "sent for review by their computer" because I was a new customer. Then I was told that since I was in CA, order wouldn't arrive for 5-7 days. No one in the organization seemed knowledgeable. Everyone I spoke to had a different answer to almost every question asked. No promises kept. Terrible service. Avoid the frustration. I have used dohenys in the past and they used to be good. I ordered an above ground cover in early August. I got emails a week or two later saying the item was backordered with a promised delivery date. Date came and went, no delivery. More emails, more promises. Well over a month after another missed delivery date, I called dohenys. Finally, a really rude operator named taeshia tells me the item is no longer available. Weeks after I should have closed the pool I had to call them to find out. Terrible customer service. Unreliable company. The item is STILL listed in the new catalog I just received. I ordered a solar cover for a 20 x 40 in-ground pool. When I installed it, it was at least 6 inches short. A call to customer service resulted in them asking for photos, I sent them, and they replied to smooth out the cover. I worked for 45 minutes trying to stretch the cover to fit with no results. The certainly have not complied with their 100% satisfaction promise. I asked to have proper size cover sent out to no avail. I will let the credit card company recover my money. read more

It didn't work that great, so I decided to take advantage of what was advertised as a 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED return policy. Well... It is true, I could get a full refund. But only after I paid nearly $50 to ship the item back. So essentially I'm out $50 for a product I don't like and that doesn't work that well. This review is for Doheny's Pool Supplies in general. I purchased a 16' x 32' solar pool cover on 6/2 6/2018. This cover had a 7 year warranty with the first and second year full free replacement. Second year would end on 6/26/2020. The cover is just disintegrating. Can't take it out of the pool without it tearing. Tried to contact D.E.I which is the contact for the warranty. No answer on the phone in 3 tries with over 1 hour on hold. Tried to contact Doheny's by phone, same lack of results. Sent an e-mail on 6/10/2020. No response. Sent another on 6/16/2020 still no response. Spent another hour on the phone to both D.E.I. and Doheny's on 6/23. Full warranty ends in 3 days. This company is a fraud. The pool cover is adequate (although I have had others that usually last 3 to 5 years. The customer service is LESS than a joke. I would NOT recommend purchasing ANYTHING from Doheny's. Period. It never shipped and now, after posting on line a rating of 1 Star, am told "oh they are on back order and won't ship until July 1. So much for telling the truth! I tried contacting them and even was put in a customer service que when I called, was in position '94'! Honesty is the best policy and would have sent a message that they value their customers. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I went to the Kenosha store on Green Bay Rd to look for hot tubs. I purchased a smaller one as it was my first one. When it was delivered it was damaged. They took it back and I ended up purchasing a larger tub. It started leaking not a month after I received it. They sent a repair guy twice. He just could not figure out what it was.
