If you are looking to book in less time than this, it's a First Come, First Serve starting at 11am (you show up and put your name on the list). Lena, Sierra, and Naiyana were all very helpful during our visit! They were able to move us from one campsite to another because of some wasp-looking creatures feeding off of left over food on the ground from previous campers; don't be a slob and leave your food all over. Respect the Earth. We were even able to borrow their air pump for our mattress that we forgot! Total lifesavers! Pro Tip: Look up your campsite online prior to booking! Check YouTube for videos of it, and other avenues...some are much bigger than others, side parking only, and even side by side parking.

Traffic is heard all waking hours. If you're idea is to go camping and only hear the birds singing, the water flowing in the creek and the wind blowing through the trees, think again. We were in space 21 next to the restrooms and there is a fan that runs 24/7 blowing the air from the "pit" out a vent pipe that runs above the roof. Fortunately, 90% of the time the wind was blowing away from us but occasionally we were hit by the stench of the vault toilet perfume. The fire pits are not buried so be prepared to use more wood if you're cooking over the fire. The second part of this review is regarding the camp hosts. 1 star (there's no 0 star choice). They are militant. After we had set up camp and were starting our fire to cook dinner, the husband/wife duo came into camp, clipboard tucked in the arm of the lady. The first thing she said as they approached was "that's a lot of smoke there". Looking into the fire pit, she said, "oh, pine needles. That's why. You should use pine cones. They don't smoke as much. But you have a flat fire, not a teepee. That's good news". The husband instructed to use two buckets of water to put out the fire. And stir with a stick to make a slurry. And it's good to keep 4-6 oz of water in a small bottle nearby when cooking to help control the fire too. Really? Next the husband said let's go over the rules. No camp showers. No noise between 10pm and 8am. No generators after hours. No loud radios. Musical instruments are ok. There was more but I don't remember it all. They made rounds in their golf cart every hour or so. Camp hosts were around the entire time we were there. I'd never seen anything like it. They were rude and insulting, treating us like we were children. I've been camping for 50 years. Not my first time around the block. But this was the first time I've been insulted and bothered so much by a camp host. They said they were coming back to host next year. For that reason alone we will avoid this campground.

It's conveniently located and nicely maintained. I really appreciate the ice and wood service they provide. The camp hosts are typically super friendly and relaxed. This summer however- I did notice that one of the male camp hosts was a little bit over the top when it comes to surveillance. He seemed hyper vigilant and I felt "watched" - which is not the most comfortable feeling as a woman camping in the woods. Like the name Railside RV Ranch says it is right off the railroad so you will hear trains, however, I have not encountered any campgrounds that are right on Route 66 but do not align with the railroad. It's definitely part of the history of old Route 66. A lot of history in this town and fun things to do and just a 45 minute drive to the Grand Canyon. We had a flat tire on our camper on the morning we were scheduled to leave, and we were unable to get the lug nuts off to change the tire. Two campground employees noticed our struggle and stopped to help. They had the tools to loosen the lug nuts and then stayed to help us finish changing the tire. DO NOT STAY HERE -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I would strongly encourage anyone considering staying at this location to think twice. Our experience was extremely frustrating from the moment we arrived. Only 40 minutes before our scheduled check-in, we received a message from the host stating that we were being moved from Caboose #1 to Caboose #2. We had booked Caboose #1 two weeks in advance, had our confirmation documents, and knew that the unit we reserved was available when we booked. When we arrived at the front office at the official 3 PM check-in time, we expected the situation to be handled professionally. Instead, the host was extremely unwilling to take responsibility and immediately blamed Airbnb for the "double booking." We explained that this was not an Airbnb issue -- we had reserved a specific caboose and were being informed last minute that it was no longer available. We requested a refund because we were not receiving the accommodation we paid for. The host repeatedly stated that she "didn't know how to do refunds" and acted as though getting approval from a manager was a major obstacle. She then told us she could refund us, but if we wanted to stay we would need to pay for another cabin. We explained that this was not acceptable -- the mistake was made on their end, and it was their responsibility to make it right. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience, the host repeatedly told me I was being "rude" and that I needed to be kinder because she was "being honest" and "trying her best." Being told the truth 40 minutes before arrival does not make the situation acceptable. If we had been informed even a week earlier, we would have canceled and found another place to stay. She also claimed Caboose #1 and Caboose #2 were identical, which was simply not true. They have different scenery, different views, and the photos shown online clearly represented a different experience than what we received. After a lot of back and forth, she finally processed our refund and gave us a key to Caboose #2 for us to see if we still wanted to stay. Unfortunately, the condition of Caboose #2 confirmed our concerns: * The smell was awful * The AC did not cool the back of the caboose * The toilet barely flushed unless you held the handle down * The windows did not work * The patio was locked and unusable * The pool was closed We immediately returned the key and decided to stay elsewhere. Only then did the host finally apologize and offer for us to look at another "cozy cabin," which we declined. She then gave us a paper with a name and number and offered 50% off Caboose #1 "next time," but after this experience, we have no interest in returning. Overall, the biggest issue was not just the accommodation -- it was the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and willingness to fix the situation. We felt dismissed, blamed, and treated as though we were the problem for expecting the reservation we paid for. We have also filed a report with Airbnb. Please reconsider staying here. A last-minute change, poor communication, and lack of customer service made this an extremely disappointing experience.

The only way to be assured of keeping a spot is to pay an additional $30, which we were not told about when my husband called and booked our site. We now find ourselves NOT with our family (brother-in-law was relocated away from us a month after booking) on a site that is so tight, we can only sit on one side of our picnic table, since our slide out blocks the other side of our table's seating. The worst part is we have no trees and are so close to the road that we have to either bring our awnings in or constantly monitor the road, because if a rig goes by while our awnings are extended, they would rip our awnings right off. Just had to retract our awnings so a guy could get past. Just ridiculous. This should not even BE a site. But profits rule the world! Called the office and was told there is nothing they can do. We are stuck here. They refused to refund our money for even a portion of our 10 day stay, so we could just move on. They also would not disclose whether all the other empty sites around us had been "reserved" for the additional $30 fee. We were simply told moving to another site was not an option. The only bright spot is Chris, the campground host, who went above and beyond to get us moved after the weekend rush. But as any camper knows, we will have go through a lot of tearing down and setting up to go 100 feet. Sadly, this place has lost its charm for us. We will not be returning anytime soon! What a disappointing experience!

It's basically a 2 seater that you are strapped into that takes off backwards taking you very high above the town. You are then left sitting there for a few minutes then BAM! You're let go and head down the line fast! Reasonable prices and friendly staff. You pay at the ramp before getting on the ride. We paid for 3 riders along with the extra $6 for my daughter to go again. She ride twice so that myself and hubs could experience this ride.
