Came here camping for my birthday and had a good time! We were a bit late in booking our campsite, so by the end of March, not much was open for May, but we did manage to get a campsite in the F zone from Sunday thru Tuesday. Campsite was pretty full and almost every campsite we passed had people staying. This campsite is one of the ones in northern Sedona and just due south of Pine Flats campground. Campsites all have potable drinking water available and compost toilets within walking distance. Great thing about this site is that Oak Creek runs right thru it, so you have easy access to the creek. Camp hosts were really nice and they would drive all around the different zones and offer firewood and shower tokens for sale. Campstore has many items you may have forgotten and some souvenirs to bring home (and ice cream). While staying here, campsite hosts told us about 3 blue heron nests that were close by and we spotted over 8 blue herons and many in their nests! We also got to see the resident black hawk too the day we were checking out! Cool! read more

Amazing location in the heart of Sedona. Stayed first week of August and very hot in the day as expected and pleasantly cool at night. Beware toilets are vault (pit) and not flushable which means most sites are exposed to a frequent off putting bathroom stench that passes through the campground often. Showers cost $8 and are given a token which provides an 8 minute extremely hot shower in a tiny hot box (beware you may sweat more post shower which is not fun). Overall Pros: prime location, quiet hours enforced at night, beautiful creek to explore and cool off in at mid-day peak heat, many site options, camp store provides ice on site. Cons: staff is a bit unfriendly, stinky bathrooms, no sink to wash hands (only sanitizer), unpleasant showers, no fires allowed due to high fire warning. Camping isn't the same without a camp fire but totally get the safety aspect, the Grand Canyon north rim was on fire during our stay :( read more

We had a great time at this beautiful campsite. I must say some of the camp host at front desk had horrible characters. I walked to the office bc my family left a day early with both vehicles and I asked to park my truck there since I was parked in overflow. The guy snatched my ticket with force and attitude out of my hand and threw it in the trash aggressively which caught me by surprise. The other lady came from behind and said two other ppl asked the same thing and there is no refunds and he was upset. I expl'd no excuse and he should control himself and not treat ppl like that. The campground is great and have had great memories but your service here is truly terrible. Specifically with your clerk Jaime! My family and I went in at 9am to wait for the 11am sign up and the said they NO LONGER DO THE LIST. which is fine, but now it makes everyone fight for a spot @11. Per, she told us to wait until 11. We said okay, came back in 15 minutes before 11 and asked if we could sign up. She said no, we waited by the creek and saw a man drive in and walk up @10:53am and he easily got a camping site. We got in line behind him realizing that Jaime was letting people come in early. It was 10:58am and she said that we didn't listen to HER rules of leaving and coming back so SHE wouldn't give us the camping site. I quote Jaime "It's up to ME and MY RULES not the camps". 15 minutes it took early? But 7 minutes early is just fine?? It doesn't make any sense. I think everyone should be advised that it's no longer the "camp rules" of coming in @11. IT'S UP TO JAIME AND WHETHER AND WHEN SHE WANTS TO LET YOU IN!!! This is a larger campground and the spaces are very different sizes so choose wisely. The vault toilets in the bathroom area were super sketch I felt like the floor was going to break and someone might fall through at any minute. I liked that water spouts were available close to all the sites. I heard the showers were ridiculously hot so i didn't try them myself. Overall it was decent, but I won't be booking her again. There other places nearby I would like to try instead. read more

Mama's Retreat for One/Toddler incl for 1 Day...I picked up my Escape Campervan in Phoenix and headed up to Sedona for a much needed "Weekend Escape" in nature. I got up there early and headed to a couple campgrounds to try to find an available one for me and my 3 year old...came across this one. The entrance was gorgeous with a stream running through it and friendly staff. I got my name on the Waiting List that opens up at 10am, and expressed how important it was to be in a safe place. I got a spot that morning and got settled in with my little one. We walked all over the campground, exploring barefoot, and enjoying nature. The campers were all welcoming, the site was huge, and they have firewood for sale on site (you cannot collect wood on the grounds). They have showers, restrooms, and a well kept campground. My husband picked up our little one on Day 2 and I enjoyed the area sans one. I have to give a shout out to Anna & Korey along with Sheldon & Stephanie for making my stay so beautiful and allowing us to stay in this space, while offering the comforts if needed (snacks, drinks, fresh water for dishes, firewood, and maps). Great camp ground. Well maintained. Bathrooms were clean andthe camp site was clean and raked. The camp hosts take great care and there is a little side on site with firewood and some provisions. It's $20/ night witch is a great value. There is even a small creek and swimming hole right there, which is fabulous in the summer heat. It's a bit crowded for me, with not too much privacy between the sites. The creek brings in a lot of families (which is great if you like that kind of thing) and with slide rock state park being so close it can get very busy on the weekends. It's also very fine sand/ dirt in the camp sites, so prepare to get dirty! read more

We moved to a non reservable site off the Main Street white was better for our motorhome E11 & E12 Traffic on A1/A2 was horrible but the staff was very helpful and moved us no problem. Let me start this off by saying I did not stay at this camp site. I took my family for a northern Arizona trip. We were traveling along state route 89A and we're looking for a pull off to take in the surrounding beauty and maybe take a little plunge into the Oak Creek, to cool off. We spent some time in the creek and then walked up the bank to what we found was a campground. Then we thought, there must be a a bathroom for some of the 7 of us to use... We walked the small road that weaved through the campsite, unbeknownst to us that it was closed down for construction- Mainly because the entrance was a half mile or more from where we pulled off from the 89. After checking two bathrooms that were locked, I went solo and wondered off toward a school bus and saw a woman cutting wood. Keep in mind there were no signs of the campsite or anything to tell me the I was at a campsite until we all found the bathrooms and a campsite nearby....So I yell out to this women from about 80 ft away, "Hello, I'm looking for a bathroom. Are any available?" With bad energy and a bunch of attitude, she says back to me," No! They're all closed because the campsite is closed!". I say," Ok, well we just wondered up from the creek via pull off on the side of 89." There was also this big beautiful black cat next to her, and just trying to be friendly and make small talk, I asked if it was a Norwegian forest cat. Again, with attitude, she responded, "NO, it's just a black cat. She must have been a caretaker, but she was very unprofessional and totally had a C U next Tuesday attitude. I have family that live in the region, and will be visiting a few times a year. I however will not be staying at this campsite. I don't want my family to be around or interact with anyone like her. And based on the other reviews of some of the staff, I think I'll go anywhere else but here. read more

This past weekend my family and I went camping at Cave Springs Campground. I had the worst experience with park ranger/restroom cleaner Mike that lives in a bus at the site. We unfortunately got the space next to this man and his school bus house. We got there Friday night, and we had no problems playing music with a handheld speaker till 10pm when the lights go out and that's because we found out he wasn't home or worked that day. Saturday night was a totally different story. Mike comes over about 7pm and tells us to turn the speaker down and he didn't like the music we were playing. We agreed with what he said and turned the (low power) speaker off completely. We used our phone to play music and he came over at 9pm and told us that this was the 3rd time he had come over and he was going to call the sheriff on us. We told him we would turn it off and my friend said when he was walking away "I can't believe you can hear it in that bus" and he goes all crazy on us and ask him to say it to his face and wanted to fight. He goes and tells us go back to were you came from. This was clearly racial and there was never a second time he had given us a warning. We had just started a campfire with the over price wood just to turn everything off. Not everyone is welcome there, especially if you play Latin music. Plus, this is not the 1st time this man has made it impossible for the family. He had my parents turn off the generator at 5pm when it was 98 degrees outside. He also made my parents move to another camp space after they had set up everything just to realize it was their camp in the first place with no apology. Please remove Mike as a ranger or you will be losing so much business from the LATINO community. read more

Cave Springs, what is there not to like about this campground? We enjoyed our 3 nights at the park. The hosts were very nice and knowledgeable. We booked in February to ensure the best spot (A15), but every spot is unique in its own way. We only intended on staying for 2 nights so we were not able to keep the same site. There is a whole process to get another night. But it went smoothly, we did have to cancel that day's plans to make sure we got another night. That's okay. We made other plans. I would recommend this place for camping, the $4.00 for showers at 8 minutes seemed like an eternity. The water was hot and the shower area was clean. read more

The people who work here obviously love their job, i wish i got her name but the lady who works in the little shop in the front was so friendly with my friend and i and told us all the things we needed to know and gave tips about stuff to do around the camp grounds. the camp sites are pretty close to one another and can get loud at night, but even the locals camping were nice to us to. would recommend. read more

Beautiful spot. Nice size campsites. Lots of trees and there is a trail that goes down to the creek and a decent swimming hole. The bathrooms were clean but only vault toilets. No sinks. There is drinking water but you are not allowed to fill up your rv with water there so we had to drive quite a ways to fill up our rig and no dump station either. We would stay there again now that we know these things. It would have been nice if this was posted on their website. read more

Very pretty well organized campground. The sites were clean, well organized, and very accommodating. Plenty of drinking water / restroom and trash areas that are well maintained. It was also nice that checkin time was 2:00 and checkout time was 1:00, so we had an entire day at the site. We were little disappointed at the limitations ... no climbing the mountain ... no moving the rocks ... no music (even before quiet hours). It is understandable to expect trash in and out / fire rules, but when we had to move our car due to one more rule (no listed on the sheet of them) it was a little much. read more

Beautiful campground! scouted out prefect site a year before and bought six months in advance. we had a major problem with the staff. They made it a nightmare for us. we have never been treated so bad in our 30 years of tailgating camping. The staff made us park our third car outside of the campground even though there were plenty of spaces in the CLOSED shower parking. we paid $40 to park one car there in their "overflow parking" for four days. but when our third car came with my daughter and 4 kids ( one newborn and on 2 year old), we were all treated like crap. We kept being told that it is a federal regulation that there could only be two cars on the campsite but they couldn't produce anything in writing where this federal law was written, even after asking them to provide this law, they looked and could not find any proof of this law. we were forced to park on the street about a half mile from our campsite, when they took a shortcut across the river they all fell in the river. We were expecting to use the showers but they were CLOSED. there was no notification of the showers being closed on the website or the confirmation that was sent to us before our stay. We left early because we felt so un-welcomed. When I complained to the forest service staff about this, and they were very apologetic and offered to comp us on our next trip to the area. -Any of the staff that worked at this campsite in August of 2020 have no business being in the hospitality business. Shane and Ashely should be fired and never be allowed to work as a host they are a the worst of the worst staff ever! The campground is awesome! Hopefully the staff that was there in August of 2020 has moved on! read more

Nice campground. Some sites are a little close to each other. Some are private so check google maps when booking. Stream is close. Not much noise from main hwy. Lots of trees so using solar panels for power requires manipulation during the day. Deep fire ring and picnic table at each site. Potable water throughout campground. Only a couple big rv sites. Overall nice campground. Oh yah, skunks patrol for for scraps so store food and scraps properly. Close to sedona. Good camping overall read more

Was a bit skeptical when we pulled up. Staff was perfect, very on top of this. Campground was clean, bathrooms were clean once they drained them. This place is the worst. The lot sizes are about the size of a missies sedan. The fire pits are so high flames can't breathe to cook and the creek is blocked of for "safety". I will never recommend this place. read more

Caaaaaaaaaaave Spring. Wow. What a spot. Probably one of the most beautiful camp sites I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. Our two night stay was slightly marred by the rain, but we made the most of it. The bench at the site was made of concrete, not wood like most, which I'm assuming is friendlier to the likes of children who won't be reading the carvings of "who was there" and "for a good time call...". The fire pit was not only awesomely taken care of, but functional with the grill on a swivel. Scenery is great. Surrounded by high rising rock pillars and mountains. I highly recommend this place to anyone between Flagstaff and Sedona. read more

Loved loved camping here. We get there 6-10-2020 to 6-12-2020 and it was one amazing experience. I live in California but I heard about this place having a lot to do, which it does! Every time we go we fish there in a deep stream that's near by. We jump off of rocks into deep cool water. And better yet it's close to slide rock! So far I have only been to this campground in Arizona and I actually liked it a lot! We took our kids and other family members being a total around 10 to 11 people. Staff there is actually real nice. The old dude riding around with his dog on the Kart is the s*** lol he's pretty cool. Another good thing about it is that we were told to quite down cause it was already past 10p.m and she was pretty cool with it she just told us "I'm sorry but I just had to come out and quit down the place a bit . And we were all cool and complient about it . The only thing wrong about this is that they need a bigger entrance! read more

Called a few weeks in advance to check on how busy the campground gets midweek, spoke to a young man from Florida on the phone who works at the site and he said we shouldn't have any trouble getting a site if we arrived before check in/check out midweek which is at 1 pm. So when we pull up a few weeks later at 12:58 pm, we were shocked to have an older fellow tell us that they keep a WAITING LIST on the first come-first serve sites from about 6am in the morning. We thought he was joking. #1 we were not informed about that policy whatsoever by the younger employee we spoke to on the phone and #2 it totally defeats the purpose of first come first serve. It was the most ridiculous thing I have heard of in my life and pretty sure they're not even supposed to be doing it that way, because when we went up the road to find a different campground the hosts there sounded shocked at what we had told them about the waiting list. We had no trouble finding a campsite there because they were running it fairly and let us drive through and find our site like a proper check in/check out procedure is supposed to go. Don't waste your time at this crookedly run campground unless you have reservations far in advance. read more

There is a pathway to the creek with swimming holes. Lots of shade at most of the campsites and just a mile down the 89 there is a awesome hiking trail(west fork). Our campground was fabulous, me and my husband are newlyweds and don't camp much but wanted to try something new. Make sure you bring cash for required wood logs to burn and for your camp spot. I suggest taking a picture of the available site board so you don't have to drive back and forth, as some people don't cross out the spot when they select theirs. The rangers informed us that the 2 nearby trials are long and/or difficult so we didn't attempt them. The river is VERY close to the freeway and cars frequently pull over to enjoy the water. I find this a little unfair as we had to pay to enter the campground and they give themselves access for free. The restrooms were absolutely unusable in my opinion, as they were nothing more then holes in the ground like the Middle Ages. Not much privacy the sites are pretty small, the only thing separating our tent from our camp neighbors was the driveway for their car. There were no bugs with was a big plus. We stayed here 5/29-6/1 and absolutely loved it & will come back again. The campground is shaded, which is nice during the day when it's high 90s. The campground itself was very clean, the showers weren't open but the bathrooms were clean and didn't smell. The camp hosts drove the area multiple times a day, specifically checking the bathrooms. They have quiet time 10pm to 6am and surprisingly everyone was very respectful of those hours. The best part the creek access that comes with your camp stay. Perfect activity for our two year old son. read more

Been coming here since I was a kid, of course now it seems much smaller than it did then. The spots are all descent with a small walk to the creek, showers, and bathrooms. Unfortunately there were no fires allowed this time around which kind of put a damper on the camping experience but we still made s'mores on a propane grill lol... gotta keep the kids happy. The campground was very mellow, and bathrooms were well stocked and kept up. My only complaint is the spot we had, was full of weeds, I know your outdoors and camping but being that they keep the area up it would be cool if that you was as well. But I'll continue to come out here because it's so beautiful and within walking distance. read more

I wanted to love this place. But having read through the other reviews I am sad to say I also experienced the over use of rules and unpleasant behavior from the manager on the golf cart. Additionally the smell from the restrooms permeated the entire time which was pretty off-putting. The creek is lovely. Setting is beautiful although no cellphone coverage at all. First I should say I am a lifelong camper and fully respectful of national forest, driving slow, being discrete and just being at one with nature and my kid when in the outdoors. I don't even want or need music or anything else. However despite this and not being on the site very much over our two night stay, I still came short of what was required by the 'management'. Putting it all together; As soon as you arrive you're asked to read the rules, there and then in Situ. I didn't find this very welcoming. Then, well, on the morning of departure; firstly the guy on the golf cart hovered, and stared and hovered some more around my pitch from six am in the morning (I had the right to the pitch til 1pm, let's remember). I didn't like being watched doing my morning routine whilst in my night clothes and felt very uncomfortable. As if to remind me that I had to go that day (I hadn't forgotten) they ripped off my name from the pitch at around 6am. Well sorry guys but I have it til 1pm. Why do that? Basically imagine if you're in a hotel and there's someone from 6am in the morning giving you direct and indirect signs you need to leave, although you don't have to leave yet. It's horrible. I go camping precisely to avoid this stuff. Then I leave, and whilst it's not clearly signed at all, apparently the campground 'has one lane' and I was driving at 2mph on the wrong lane to exit the site (early). Rather than just say goodbye, and put me in the right direction, this hovering, staring guy on the golf cart drove at high speed right at me, and then told me rudely I was going the wrong way. And was I checking out? It's all about how you feel when you leave a place as well as what happens when you're there. I wouldn't go back precisely for the way I was made to feel, nor would I recommend to other normal, respectful campers who just want to be peaceful. There are other sites (that don't smell) who will accommodate you, and trust that you won't somehow mess up. For all the rules, I should also add that I find it ironic that the hosts' RVs are all lit up like Christmas trees throughout the night; which is fairly at odds with peace and just being with nature. One rule for the paying customers, one rule for the staff, right!? Hmmm. Not impressed I'm afraid. I would chose another option if you have the choice. read more
