This is such a beautiful campsite. It's located north of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon in the Coconino National Forest. Just the drive itself on the 89A is gorgeous. Tall trees and Sedona's red rock cliffs make the drive so pretty and scenic. Pine Flat Campground has around 45 campsites. Half of them can be reserved online ahead of time. This campground is great for both families and animals. Oak Creek is right next to it and is usually stocked with trout. One of things I love about this place is waking up in the mornings to the huge canyon slopes that surround the campsite and the sound of flowing water from the creek. Pine Flat Campground has outhouses, fire rings, cement tables, and running water. The camp hosts have always been great and accommodating when I have camped here. If you are looking for activities, popular West Fork Trail is just a few miles away for hiking. You can drive a little bit more south and find Slide Rock State Park. It is one of the nation's best swimming holes. There are also a few convenience stores nearby if you are in need of supplies. I would say the only bad thing is the campground is located right off the 89A. The noise from the cars driving by can be a little annoying at night.

This place was amazing! I went 10/30/21-10/31/21, last night they were open. The camp caretaker was an absolute angel to us . We had been looking for a camp site and unable to book online anywhere. I saw the sight from the road and just wanted to explore for a future reservation. The caretaker drove in a cart over to our car, we explained that we wanted to stay only one night and she told us that she had a site available for us, what a lifesaver! This camp site is the most scenic camp site Ive ever been to and I cant wait to come back next season.

Soooo clean! The dirt around the fire pit and tent spot literally had rake marks. The bathrooms were spotless- by far the cleanest pit toilets I've ever seen. So beautiful with all the trees and views of the red rocks. The road was close but it didn't bother us. Would definitely go back!

Spring water next to campground. Cars continually stopping to fill containers full.

Great campground. Some sites RIGHT next to highway, but traffic is almost non-existent at night. We stayed a week, and had a great stay. Spring water next to campground. Campground host very nice. Very quiet, no radios or amplified sound allowed. We stayed until almost the end of season, mid-November. Campground almost empty when we left, but bet it fills completely all summer. You can reserve some sites online. Only downers were the smelly bathrooms and location next to highway. Truly, highway traffic did not bother us, and we were upwind of bathrooms. Would stay here again.

    Great camping spot.

Best spots are available if you reserve ahead of time. We were not able to reserve ahead but we're able to get a good spot (walk in) over the weekend. Absolutely clean and quiet. Also great if you plan on hiking trails near by. We were able to leave early in the morning and missed all the crowds and parking fiasco. We definitely recommend this. Come prepared, relax, drink a beer and lay on your hamic after a long hike. Nothing beats nature.

Site #26. Our camp set up :)

Camped here this weekend for 1 night (about 5 minutes away from Slide Rock SP which was our destination). We reserved Site #26, and was very pleased: Nice layout and really good tent pad, flat and no rocks, and easy to stake down. We had a seperate grill and a fire pit with grill, but it rained this weekend to sadly we just could not get a campfire started, nor did our neighbors. Our site was a 'waterfront' location, but really its just a little creek, and too steep for my little kids to climb down too. We were disappointed that fishing was not really possible there, the website boast fishing, but in fact the water access is not easily accessible :( The bathrooms were okay, it not the flushable ones, and I sure was not used to having the air vent gushing at my bottom as I was using the toilet! Didnt like that at all! lol). Overall, the backdrop of the campsite is awesome, beautiful mountains and tall trees. The highway is close, but was not bothersome at all. The camping atmosphere was nice, our neighbors were like us, family with little kids, so we felt 'safe' and comfortable!... and that was the main thing :)

We originally tried to go to Manzanita, yet they were full. I'm so happy it was so we could find this fabulous site! Camp Host Lt. Dan and Fidget made our stay perfect! Super clean lots of trails plenty of trails to hike. Best time to come is during the week. We were by ourselves most of the week! Can't wait to return next month to see Dan and Gidget!

Went up to Sedona for memorial weekend and hoping to find a spot. Stumbled upon this campground and it's the best thing that could have happened during the trip! The camp host, Mary and Larry were absolutely amazing and honestly the reason why this trip was able to be made. The area was clean and sanitized before we were able to unload which was a plus. Definitely the spot now! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience.

Can get crowded. But higher for better temps. He spring is a bonus. Not for the hard core campers. But a fun lazy car camping trip instead.

My girlfriend…read moreand I came here the week after the November 2020 elections to get away from everything, on a week that could only be described as "unseasonably cold." It's a beautiful little campground just about 15 minutes away from Uptown Sedona and alongside Oak Creek. We started out with two nights at the site furthest to the right upon entrance, and that backs up to a little pool and cliff. We had some fairly rowdy neighbors who were constantly breaking the rules and seem to have been ejected early, which was greatly appreciated, because rules are important, especially when they are mainly instated to enforce common courtesy to everyone else. The site has only 19 spots, with the majority of them hugging the creek. The others are sort of in the middle of the loop-street and lack views, immediate water-access, and privacy, as they're right out in the middle and cars drive around them. Our last two nights we moved to Site 19, which was perfect. The campsite is small enough so that proximity to the camp host/firewood, and the bathrooms is not an issue, and our spot was furthest from the entrance, and therefore was the most private/secluded. Each spot has a pretty flat spot, usually with partial shade for the tent, a firepit, and a heavy duty picnic table. There are trout in the river, and I hooked one up behind our first spot where there is a wonderfully clear and deep pool, as well as a little cliff that's fun to climb up and around. Dennis, one of the camp hosts, pointed out that there were 6-8 visible trout in the small pool behind Site 10 and so we rushed over there, and he watched us attempt unsuccessfully to lure out the fish, and then came over with a chunk of Velveeta cheese, which he said he always had luck with. We would return to this spot for the next few days and eventually hooked up a few trout, which was great. Everything about this site is great, and I'm just the slightest bit hesitant about raving too highly lest it becomes more difficult to reserve in the future. Great location, great hosts, an extremely clean vault bathroom that smells of Febreeze, a creek full of fish, firewood for sale, and camp hosts that keep the place in amazing condition. 5/5. Would recommend. Would like to return soon.

Be sure to fully understand the cancelation policy. Numerous reviews about the nightmare. Upon arrival, there was a slight misunderstanding, but it was quickly resolved. The location is picturesque, featuring tall trees, a serene pond, and a running creek, along with amenities not typically found at other campgrounds, such as a swimming pool, laundry facilities, showers, and a playground for children. The creek was the highlight of our trip. However, let's not overlook the reality we faced: with the hefty price tag for this slice of paradise, a few upgrades wouldn't go amiss. Our cabin's air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a jet engine preparing for takeoff, making family conversations feel more like a yelling match. There are some spider webs in the cabin. I don't mind them, but they might freak someone else out! We rented the small cabin which had a toilet which was an absolute plus. The cabin bed/mat's could use an upgrade. We just brought our air mats. They worked fine. The loft bed was comfortable according to my teen. So, the only WiFi was by the clubhouse, which I was totally fine with. Every now and then, I'd get a text coming through while inside the cabin. Very spotty. We brought our pups along and made sure they were on their best behavior since the rules said no warnings for noisy dogs--if they barked too much, guests would be asked to leave. Oddly alot of dogs barked, which is ok in my book. There's also a cute little store on-site for all the essentials and some snacks! Great location, just about 30min to nearby Sedona or Cottonwood. In summary, a beautiful escapade with a few quirks, just enough to keep us entertained and on our toes! I've read multiple reviews of the staff. We're fortunate not to have a bad experience.

The first night, I was in my head laying in bed wondering if I will be able to sleep and or stay for our reservation time. I finally fell asleep and I was fine for the remainder of our trip, it was just that first night. Steps are steep and takes a few times to figure out best way to get up and down. The steps are not in middle of peak of roof so you need to maneuver over to get to bed. You could scrape or shin or knee but we had no issues. I find Renew to be most private of the 4 options w/o residential neighbor near and hot tub off to side, not on deck. I don't know if there were any pots or anything to cook with, we ate out but did use the coffee press. Without a heater, we slept warmly upstairs, except for night it snowed, as I had window open. I wonder how well AC works in summer time when sleeping so close to roof. If you are not organized with your belongings, you will be frustrated with lack of space and your clothes. We had not issues but I could see where someone might. Renew pros -storage in the steps up to bed -mini split (was not working when we were there but did not need-never reported it) -spa more private than the other units -outdoor chairs & fire unit -coffee -blue tooth speaker (cord provided was not correct charging cord-but ours worked) -most private location as no one to one side and one unit on other-away from residents -Darin communicative cons -not enough hooks and only one that is above waist level -no curtains on front window -had 3 towels and not 4 (need one for shower & one for hot tub)
