This may be a good place to take your dogs. It looks nice... I guess? It takes 3 days (at least) to get through the process for them to decide if they'll take your dog overnight. I guess there is 2 days of dog daycare required first...and some type of interview? It is less work to enroll a human child in camp. I just needed someone to watch my dog for a night... but I don't have time to dedicate to their process. read more

I was so hoping this place worked out, but there cameras are conveniently off more often then not, and my friends pup not once, but twice could have died because of their ignorance, and they know this dog well, and why they would put his life in danger so horribly is beyond me, shame on all of you for what you have done to Porter. 10/10 DONT recommend. Brought my dog here for a meet and greet and he was "failed" within ten minutes. He barked at another dog while in a crate. And then I was told he cornered another dog. Cornered them to play orrrr? Because I immediately left and dropped him off at camp bow wow where he has currently been playing for idk 5 hours now? Yeah my dog was excited and nervous they didn't even give him a chance. He barked while in a crate with random people he doesn't know and a million dog smells? Had to call off of work for this trash. Oh and another dog walked in while he was being brought back out to me and the dog was growling and trying to get to him but he is in there? Yet we saw our friend doggies getting dropped off and my dog was all excited to see them. Such a joke. read more

Sadly, we were told our dog stalked and attacked another dog causing injury (resulting in a $300+ vet bill, which we paid in addition to taking our dog to the vet, as well). Further, we were told that our dog was being dismissed from this facility, going forward. No one wants to believe their dog could be involved in something like this enough to injure another dog. It happens and we don't always know why when dogs gather together. We should all be mindful of this when dropping our pups off to be cared for by others. We don't know what happened; only what we were told. In retrospect, we should have asked for the video footage of the incident (and candidly, we should have been offered to view it by the facility). It might have proven to be a teachable moment for everyone involved. read more

Up until 2 weeks ago, we were having a positive experience at Dogtopia. My fiancé works in the office, but I work from home. We wanted our dog to have some socialization and of course, work out some energy. I normally would set up my tablet so I could get some serotonin boosts by watching the cameras. There were a few times that I would catch something and not be overly thrilled with it, but I just brushed it off. It's a lot of dogs so it looks like things can get chaotic. However, 2 weeks ago, I noticed what I thought was going to be a cute moment- my dog climbing up on the outside chairs next to the Canine Coach to snuggle. But she pushed him away. Then I saw her kick another dog, so I grabbed my phone to start recording off my tablet. She proceeded to be hyper focused on her phone, and then she stood up on the chair with her arms flailing and it was obvious she was screaming at the dogs. Then she stomped off and climbed to the top of the playscape and put her head down. My dog, being the sensitive kind, walked around the playscape, looking like he wanted to console her. He ended up putting his paws on the playscape by her, and she kicked his feet out. I immediately called my fiancé to go pick him up and I told him what I saw and recorded. When he got there he asked to speak to the manager, and he said he would review the tapes and call us back. My fiancé wasn't even home yet (about a 15 min ride) and he got the call that he saw nothing inappropriate. And said something to the effect that the Canine Coach is a small girl, so she has to use more force to correct the dogs. Obviously I had recorded proof, and it wasn't until I posted it on my social media that a deeper review was started. I was told that immediate action was taken and then on that Monday (this happened on Friday) that a discussion would be had with HR on next steps. I didn't hear anything Monday, and it wasn't until I reached out Tuesday afternoon that I got any updates. Because the girl didn't hurt my dog and didn't intend to, it was basically a slap on the wrist. Oh and she never had an incident in her 3 years there. But on the latter reason, I imagine there was never a recorded incident by another dog parent so I don't trust that there wasn't a history of inappropriate treatment. If I hadn't recorded this, I would have been brushed off as a dramatic Karen, because that was what happened until I posted proof. Incidentally after posting, I had several other people say how they witnessed inappropriate treatment and they too, felt that they were being overly dramatic about what they saw. Interesting how gaslighting works. If it wasn't obvious, don't take your dogs here. read more

I do not recommend this place. We took are small 12 year old dog for a meet and greet for them to access whether or. Or she would fit in. Because of COVID a girl came out and put a rope around our dogs neck and took her in. There was no attempt to talk to our dog or get to know her. The access meant was to see if she would get along with other dogs. The girl came back no more than 15 minutes and said No, our dog was not friendly. Really? We found another place nearby and what a wonderful experience we had. And our dog loved it! read more

While this place is a bit out of the way for me, I still bring my fur baby here because she loves it!! Called ahead and set up a meet and greet where they essentially crate the dogs within the play room, bring your dog in, and slowly let one dog out at a time to acclimate the new pup into the pack. Left her there for about 3 hours and came back to her happy and tired! They watched her, assessed her interaction with the their dogs, and gave me a full report on how she did! Staff is incredibly friendly and you can tell they love and know each one of the dogs personally. If you do drop off your dog for the day, there's a live camera feed you can link to your phone so you can watch your dog play while you're on the go! They offer grooming here, but don't do the expressing of the anal glands, and they offer boarding which is a nice win win because your dog gets the open play all day on top of the boarding! A clean facility, that's well managed, organized, and reasonably priced! If you're looking for a trustworthy place to watch your pup, I would not hesitate to bring them here! read more

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. It's a little bit nerve-wracking taking your dog somewhere, dropping them off and hoping the people you've left the fur ball with know what they're doing. I'm happy to say, Dogtopia is HANDS DOWN THE BEST doggy daycare I have found. Let's start with the evaluation process. I found the process for dog evaluation to be very smart and well designed for the safely of all dogs. I like knowing that any dog allowed into Dogtopia has "passed" this process and had a behavioral assessment which gives me peace of mind. The team also was eager to show me around the facility which is impeccably clean and orderly. As for the daycare, I love all the personalized attention my dog gets. Based on her behavioral assessment, she was played in the Toy Box. She was timid at first, but after a week, she's happy to see everyone at Dogtopia! I love that I can ask any staff member how my dog is doing, and they tell me all about her day. That tells me that she is being cared for and isn't just another random dog in their company. The party days are so cute -- I love the photos we receive! I like getting her doggy report card each day to see how she's been doing and what friends she's made. Other perks include the doggy pickup directly from the car (great for freezing cold days when I don't want to get out!), the dog wash and spa services, lunch and nap time from 12 - 2 and the online cameras. It's fun to peek in and see the dogs playing. Best of all, I take home a happy and tired dog at the end of the day. I recommend Dogtopia without reservation! read more

Dogtopia was always my go to spot. Until they hired a new manager, I have been going here for a while and I would hate to write a review under My actual name because I usually love bringing my dog here but they seem to not like their job... vivien and sidney are always great to talk to and seem to love their jobs! One of the other front desk workers seems like she would rather die than be there whenever she answers the phone or talks. Mary has always been sweet and helpful and marissa was great too. They need a change of management and scenery before I reach out again.... also noticed when I have pulled up last month the Manager does not wear his mask... makes me feel gross. read more

Not a good place for every dog ... I was so excited at first with the facility thinking it would be a wonderful fit for my puppy. After buying a whole package with them and attending a handful of day care days there, I found out it was NOT the place for my dog. Not to say this place might not be right for other dogs, but the set up, structure and employees ended up negatively affecting all the hard work and training I had been doing outside of day care, with a personal dog trainer. Characteristics and behavior my dog has NEVER exhibited before at ANY other day care, boarding facility or with other dogs started to develop ... but ONLY when he was at this specific day care. That in itself is a clear indicator to me that the problem was Dogtopia itself rather than my dog. The crates are all set up in a circle in the play room along the wall, which from some dogs might be comforting but for my puppy, this caused him anxiety and really aggravated him when everyone else was playing and he was the only one in his crate getting a 'puppy break'. It doesn't seem logical to me to crate a dog in a room filled with other dogs playing, making him feel left out and jealous. Also, it became clear to me when watching the video footage from daycare on their website, that the workers in the room (which should always establish dominance and control of the room), corrected only certain bad behaviors, not ALL bad behaviors. Say for example, rather than correcting the behavior of other dogs annoying or bullying my dog, they corrected only when my dog was fed up and tried to make clear to the bigger dogs, he no longer enjoyed being stepped on and pushed around. If you know how dogs play and how they communicate with each other, its obvious this is standard dog behavior and a totally fair response from my dog. That being said, while the owner and workers at Dogtopia claimed to have tried to work with my dog who seemed to be struggling to feel comfortable and SAFE while at day care (otherwise, why would he feel the need to stand up and defend himself?), they really did not put forth much effort and did not seem like they could be bothered with a change in routine to accommodate my dog, that is still just a puppy! They suggested at one point to have my puppy on a leash while the others dogs are playing, which is absolutely absurd since they weren't even considering how this might cause leash aggression in my puppy that is still learning how to socialize. They claim to be trained and educated in this matter but both me and my personal trainer (who is well known in the whole state of Michigan for having successfully trained thousands of dogs) think this is a terrible facility for all young puppies that are learning how to socialize with other dogs, and more nervous or sensitive dogs. I work with my dog in personal training 3-4 times a week helping my sensitive rescue puppy adjust and learn how to act. I explained to the owner, that his socialization issues only started at Dogtopia because of his negative experiences their and she did not consider to give me a full refund of my day care package. Instead, one of her employees, told me the other day my dog is "not welcome back because he shows true aggression" ... Not sure where they get off calling a dog that they know nothing about 'aggressive', but I guess that's a good representation of how they run their business. They have no clue what my dog has been through and how hard both my dog and I work every single day ... yet they can go around calling other people's dogs aggressive when they don't want more work. Seems professional. My trainer and I will tell everyone looking for a daycare facility to never go here, because I can tell you for a fact there are PLENTY of other day cares that put more effort into their work and express more understanding for 'difficult' dogs that are still learning how to socialize. *** EDIT: If Dogtopia is truly concerned with the safety of their guests, they should take into consideration not having the dogs share one water bowl at Dogtopia... I just got home from the vet today and my puppy now has oral papilloma ALL over his mouth, on top of everything else. He has not been around any other dogs besides while at Dogtopia day care leading me to believe this is where he was exposed to the virus. Having a communal water bowl seems negligent and unsafe, seeing it has led to health issue for my poor dog. Good riddance Dogtopia! read more

This is the best doggie daycare I've ever found. The staff members are trustworthy, friendly and helpful, the facility is kept clean, and there are web cameras everywhere so you can see what your dog is doing throughout the day. I love being able to check on my dog and see how he is doing. He always seems happy to go there, so I know he is having fun. My *only* complaint is that a few times, I have taken my dog there and he was fresh and clean, but he came home positively reeking of urine. So, I am not sure if someone wasn't quick enough with the mop and if he laid down in urine, or if another dog was intentionally urinating on him. Other than that minor issue, I have been extremely pleased with this facility. read more

Our Marshall loves Dogtopia. He's learned so much Doggy etiquette! The best part is he comes home completely pooped from such a busy day. They are so good with keeping them active and keeping the Doggy parents engaged and enthused. The staff is incredible and they don't mind the calls I made to check on my pup a couple times. My dog knows the way there and perks up halfway there when he realizes where we are going. I do wish the prices were a little better so I can bring him more often. The packages aren't really that great of a deal so we just pay as we go for the time being. I'd love to see monthly membership packages! read more

Friendly staff. When I told the staff some fears my rescue has, and what I felt was the best way to introduce her to the other dogs, they didn't brush it off, they listened. Our puppies had a wonderful time and have gone from shy, and uncertain around new dogs, to curious and playful! We have two shiba inu pups - litter mates. They can be aloof and independent, very cat-like, but here, they are encouraged to explore and be friendly, and their inner dog is emerging! We are very happy with our experience. I liked that the facility isn't giant so that our dog is not just one out of one hundred pets in attendance that day, however it is large enough for him to socialize and meet other pets! The employees in the rooms are constantly busy and someone always has an eye on the dogs. Everyone is friendly and courteous and I love that I can use the grooming facilities for free! read more

my first experience with them was not good. I made an appointment for a bath for my small dog. I arrived 10 minutes prior to the appointment. The girl asked me if we were there for day care. I replied, no, I have an appointment for a bath. She said, Im sorry, the girl who scheduled your appointment didn't know I wouldn't have anyone in at this time to bath the dog. I would have to wait an additional half an hour. I explained that I drove a half an hour to get here. My dog was already going to spend TWO HOURS there for a simple bath and now she wants me to leave him a half an hour longer!!!! I was NOT happy and did not stay! They couldn't even be bothered to make a phone call to me to let me know they couldn't bath him .... Don't think I will be coming back:( read more

My dog Johaan has been going to stay for boarding ever since they opened. I honestly cannot day enough nice things about the staff here. They are extremely friendly and extremely attentive to Johaan's needs !! While he's never thrilled to be dropped off, I can watch him play and have an absolutely great time on the video cams. The video cams are great, very clear and allow you to see the entire room. During the summer months, they always take the dogs out to play. The dogs are separated according to size, and some larger but extremely gentle dogs are allowed with the smaller dogs and it's actually a good thing and allows Johaan to interact with larger dogs and not be afraid. They have the cutest theme parties and always take the cutest pictures !! I even got a text message and picture letting me know how Johaan was doing... and I can't tell you how much that meant to me. It showed the staff truly cares for your pet. The dogs are never left alone for a long period of time except for when they are tucked in at night. He always gets a nice bath and nail trim before coming home. I have and would recommend Dogtopia to all my friends who need a daycare and a place to board their pet. I was lucky to have a friend recommend Dogtopia to who had her sweet pup in daycare, and she told me that staff takes time out to play with the dogs which was totally true !! Well, it figures I would find this place on my way out of state. Do not go anywhere else TRUST me... this place is PERFECT. Clean, friendly staff, rates don't "change". They are accommodating and patient. My dog was happy and cared for when he came home, and we had feedback from the team that worked there after his first visit! All your "dog needs" will be met here. I love Dogtopia of Bloomfield, more importantly my dog, Bear loves it. He gets so excited and barks in the car all the way there. The staff is wonderful. They are all dog lovers too! I love the "curb service" if someone is available. They are meticulous in cleanliness, and even more so in getting to know each animals personalites, likes and quirks. Dogtopia of Bloomfield is an incredible place. I love that they know my dog and me and recognize us each time we are there. I can tell how much fun my dog has there each day because he gets excited just pulling into the parking lot. My puppy suffered from a bit of separation anxiety at first, but after a week or so at Dogtopia of Bloomfield his tail was wagging all day. The staff at Dogtopia of Bloomfield is so caring and it is so clear that they love their jobs and the dogs in their care. The details that the Dogtopia team has come up with--themed parties to make each month special, daily report cards for nervous pet parents, a system to track food consumption and other details of their day, and Facebook posts that show me just how much fun my puppy is having are just a few of the ways that Dogtopia of Bloomfield takes doggie daycare to the next level. We did quite a bit of research trying to find out what the best option for daycare was for our new 12 week old puppy "Eva." We both work and crating her every day of the week wasn't an option while we were away. So we toured Dogtopia and were amazed! The socialization Eva is getting does wonders with making her a great well rounded dog that now welcomes all dogs and people with excitement. The facility is always kept clean and provides a different scent so our housebreaking has never been effected. We're allowed to tour the facility and use it for bathing, grooming and even boarding if needed. The live streaming cameras are a huge huge plus for us so we can check in on her during the day. They're open till 7pm which is later than some other daycares and is ideal for us since we frequently work past 5pm. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable. Every time we bring her home she's tuckered out for the rest of the evening. We couldn't be happier and will continue to take Eva for as long as she needs it! We recommend Dogtopia to anyone who's in need of a great daycare for their pup. read more
