    Cocoa Dog and an IPA
    Juliana Z.

Walking in was like stepping into a train cabin. The details and stained window above entry were beautiful. It felt like walking into a speakeasy. The back corner had a cast iron fireplace/stove. It was cozy corner with wooden benches to sit around with a big group. I ordered Cocoa Dog, creamy and sweet. I was able to taste the banana. It was well balanced. Bf got the rotating IPA from ghost town brewing. We will definitely be coming back.

Cool and cozy little pub in a quaint corner of Dogpatch. No frills. There's a bar, a few booths, and some tables. Fits maybe 50ish people max. Staff was friendly, drinks were solid, I had a good time. Had the Waco Kid. Sweet and spicy cocktail consisting of mezcal, apricot liqueur, habanero & orange bitters, lemon juice and a twist for garnish. Grapefruit Radler is a nice fruity beer if you're looking for something weak (2%) and citrusy. All around chill place. Would come back. 4/5

Icelandic vodka served in a chilling mug or is it a Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina mug?

We stumbled here while walking in the neighborhood at night. Right away the place felt rustic and saloon-y. There were a lot of people here and the place was full. Many seem like they are locals of the neighborhood. The interior is cozy and there is also a fireplace corner to get cozier. I got the Icelandic vodka drink served in a mug and I felt like I was at a Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina. You have to trade in a valid I.D. to rent the mug. I definitely recommend getting the Icelandic vodka and rent the Star Wars-esque chunky tin mug. I hope this bar continues to serve this drink. Overall, this place felt cozy and service was great.

This place is a 5 minute walk from my apartment yet this past Tuesday was the first time I've stepped inside to check it out on the way back from Spark Social. The bar seating was packed for a Tuesday night. Looks to be a neighborhood favorite. My friend and I ended up sitting at one of the lower tables on the perimeter. She got a whiskey snap and I got a vodka mule that came in a neat mug (strangely the menu you asks to leave your id as collateral if you get the drink with the mug). I also front loaded with a shot of vodka that was generously sized to say the least. The cocktails were $11 which for a SF bar is a pretty good deal. The mule tasted standard. Hard to mess up. Her review of the snap: "really good but had too many rocks" Would come back again for a nearby drink and vibes.

9-22-2019...3p.m...first time here A San Francisco landmark it's been here forever...Being a Frisco native I've taken this place for granted and passed it by countless times...so today after visiting my cake designer I glanced over while parking and noticed the game was on... I walked in, grabbed a seat at the bar and felt right at home...kool vibe, the game was on, and some groovy tunes was playing throughout the place... Dog friendly...hence the name Signature drinks... Kool vibes... I'll be back

For my references: Dig the ambiance. Was walking towards an event, but made an impromptu walk-in at this joint (my friend spotted someone through the window and obviously had a shy fan-girl moment). There's only one cider here and it's on tap.

Whiskey Snap ($10), Dogpatch Saloon ($10), The Last Frontier ($10)

My group of three wanted another drink after having brunch nearby. Since Dogpatch Saloon was across the street, we decided to stop by on Saturday, March 4th around 3:45pm. Basically all the tables and bar seats were taken, but we managed to find a free table in the back past the bar. *Dogpatch Sazerac: cognac, absinthe rinse, peychauds bitters, angostura bitters, down, lemon twist ($10) *The Last Frontier: bourbon, solerno blood orange liqueur, amaro averna, orange bitters, up, orange twist ($10) *Whiskey Snap: bourbon, ginger-honey liqueur, lemon juice, barrel-aged bitters, rocks, cherries ($10) I think I got The Last Frontier. (Or the Whiskey Snap, but judging from the description and pictures, I think it was The Last Frontier.) I actually liked my drink the best. It resembled a manhattan. I found both The Whiskey Snap and the Dogpatch Sazerac to be too sweet. Especially the Whiskey Snap with the ginger honey liqueur. All drinks were good for sipping for the hour or so we were there. The bar itself was very chill during the day. And very bright. The windows let in a lot of natural light. I didn't order our round of drinks, but I did go up to the bar to get a glass of water. The bartender was sweet, but it did take a bit of time to get her attention even though it was a slow afternoon. The bar did have a couple of TVs on on both ends of the actual bar area, but we couldn't see them from the table we were sitting at. Convenient for a drink if you're having brunch across the street. It was a good stop for just one drink.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

It takes a lot for me to consider a return visit to a cocktail bar. Most of the time, I just begrudgingly go along with my friends to a mediocre bar, but Blind Pig is a place I would enthusiastically return to again and again. I first got the namesake cocktail: Blind Pig. It was incredibly well-balanced, and the flame presentation upon arrival was an epic mini show. Later during last call, I decided to risk it all and roll the dice to order from the secret menu. I rolled a 5, which got me a wine & Japanese beer concoction with Sichuan peppercorn. Totally feel like this cocktail was made for me, as I rep the 川渝 region. The drink was strong, but that made it all the better. Can't wait to come again and explore more of the menu behind the password-protected iykyk entrance.

I'm personally over (and too old) dealing with sloppy drunks spilling drinks on you, getting pushed around in a crowd or end up in a middle of a brawl Blind Pig is that perfect spot, well at least on a weeknight: chill, low-key, and moody. And, most importantly comfy seating AND solid AZN inspired craft cocktails ($18-$19). Cocktails with black sesame, taro, pandan, mapo tofu, tea, and hot pot flavors? YAS! D R I N K S * Hot & Sour: Tanqueray Gin w/ Iichiko shochu, aloe, rose, hot pot paste, basil, citrus, peychaud's ($18 x2) The sichuan hot pot inspired cocktail was silky smooth from the milk-washed gin, nicely balanced - sweet (but not too sweet) and sour with a subtle málà numbing spice. Stiff yet easy to drink. The manager/bartender, Leo was awesome with great hospitality. Background lounge-y music is not too loud so you can yap and catch-up with friends. Overall, Blind Pig is a great place to unwind after work or start the night off. If it's too tamed for you, you can always go next door to XEX to make bad decisions - no judgement cuz we've all been there! ;) O T H E R I N F O * Walk-in only. Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service. Overall, highly highly recommend checking this place out for a fun night out or post-dinner treat! Glad we made the decision to stop in!

The space has such a strong first impression--polished, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, with the feel of a boutique hotel café tucked into the city. The front counter makes it easy to order quickly, and even though the place has a lot of energy, the service was fast, friendly, and very well organized. Our drinks were ready in about five minutes, and every single one was excellent. You can tell Shoji puts real intention into the drink program--the flavors were balanced, the presentation was beautiful, and everything felt elevated without being overdone. It is the kind of place where even a simple coffee or matcha feels special. I also loved that there are different areas to enjoy depending on your mood. The back patio is bright, open, and beautifully lit, making it a great spot to sit and relax. Inside, the darker, more intimate seating area has a cozy, quiet, almost hidden-gem feeling that would be perfect for a date or a slower morning coffee. The contrast between the quick-service front and the more atmospheric seating areas makes the whole place feel very well thought out. Shoji is easily one of the best coffee experiences I've had in San Francisco. I'm honestly surprised there isn't already more than one location, because this concept could be a huge hit throughout the city. Great service, beautiful design, fast execution, and truly exceptional drinks. We will absolutely be back.
