Xingones is exactly what the neighborhood needed. There's ample seating and good bartenders if you…read morewant to dine in, though I usually end up getting their food to go. My go-tos are the Cali-style burrito with asada and the Xingones nachos (with extra cheese). Good quality ingredients and portions that are generous enough that I almost always have leftovers. Plus, the prices are fair for what you get.

First ever visit today around 12:20pm. There were maybe three other customers dining in, already…read moreseated and eating. I ordered a California style burrito to go - no cheese, no sour cream, please. I was surprised that it took a solid 15+ minutes to prepare when the place was basically dead but I figured hey, maybe they hadn't been open that long and still were getting set up in the kitchen or whatever. So I got my lunch and rushed back to work with my burrito in just enough time for a few bites before my meeting. Took a glance at the receipt stapled to my bag and was alarmed to see that it said no sour cream but didn't say anything about no cheese. Cut the burrito open and, yep, cheese. Look, I've worked food service, I know how it is. I know it can be stressful and it's easy to make mistakes when you're busy. The restaurant was NOT BUSY. There was literally nobody else waiting ahead of me. Nobody else came in the entire time I was waiting for my burrito. There is absolutely no good reason that the person punching in my order couldn't have taken the time to read the screen and make sure that the order was punched in correctly. I'm can't eat dairy, I had to throw the burrito away. I'm not the kind of person to make frivolous complaints but this was such an unforced error, and I tipped 25% - ON A TAKEOUT ORDER - for food I can't eat. Now it's 4pm and I just got out of three hours of straight meetings and the first thing on my mind is typing up this review because this legit messed up my day. Xingones management, train your workers better. I'm in walking distance of your restaurant and I'm never coming back because I can't trust y'all to get a very simple order correct even on a slow day. Good luck.

I can not say enough good things about this spot and I am so sad to find out that the taproom is…read moreclosing. First off, it was a great space with ample indoors and outdoor seating. The people here are always extremely welcoming and patient with me as I slowly read through their beer selection. And their beer selection--absolutely amazing. As an Asian-American, I never thought I'd see Kimchi and Yuzu flavors for beer. Obviously, the first time we came here, we had to get flights to try all of their flavors. Whenever I have group events where I have to bring a pack of beer, I always try to bring a pack of dokkaebier :)

Just read Dominic B's (Yelp CM) review that you were closing your tap room, so rush over!…read more Cut and pasted from their website: "Dokkaebi (도깨비), the mysterious, shape-shifting creatures found throughout Korean folklore." Quality/Quantity - You have been on my list to visit since you opened. I drink your beers in most (if not all) the local Korean Restaurants in the Bay. And at some non Korean restaurants. Today I enjoyed your Chuseok Porter, well a few of them... This by far was my favorite of all the beers I drank and tasted here. Also tasted the following: Dokkaebi IPA - Light and refreshing. Lemongrass Witbier - I can almost taste the lemongrass, another light and refreshing beer. K-Beer - Again, another light and refreshing beer. My daughter had the Calamansi & Tea Lager - This actually had more flavor then all the beers I drank except my porter. Lastly, my daughter noticed the Hazy IPA, Hazy Seoul. But I could not/did not want to drink any more. I guess I might have to rush over again before they close. For our snacks we got: KFC, Korean Fried Chicken - Not as authentic as I would have preferred. Gimmari - Wow, a home run. It helped that I have never had this before! My daughter says we will go to K-Town next time we are in LA and she will introduce me to Korean "street food." Looking forward to it. Atmosphere - Small local brewery. They also own the "kitchen" and storage area next door, see pictures. Metered street parking, but not a problem on a Sunday. And free meter parking on a Sunday. Shared restrooms with the other businesses in the building, you need a key. See pictures. Open 4 days a week (well only for one more week..) from Thursday to Sunday. See Yelp or their website. Service - Counter service, just okay. Price - $44 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2020 and here since 2023. I am sorry to hear your tap room is closing, but I do admit it has taken me over a year to visit.... So I understand.

Been to Gus many times but this is my first time reviewing them…read more I usually get the 2 or 3 piece dark and it is delicious! It is crunchy on the outside and has a lot of meat on the inside. The beans and coleslaw are delicious as well. The beans were warm and tasty and the coleslaw were super fresh. They also provide hot sauce. If you want the honey mustard or ranch, it's an extra 50 cents each. Service has always been good. It is about a 20 minute wait for the food, but it's so worth cause it is yummy and fresh! There are a couple of tables inside to sit and eat at. Street parking.

For their prices, I was expecting something more close to soul food style mac n cheese (even a Popeyes' like version would've been okay enough). It felt like a boxed Velveeta, but dry/reheated with them hastily adding seasoning on top. 2. The fries were also a letdown. The seasoning was actually decent, but I could tell it was reheated. No crispness, but more of a limp, soft exterior. 3. Their chicken, plus the friendly service saved the review from being 1 stars. Out of everything on my platter, it was the only thing that actually tasted fresh & not reheated. The skin was crispy with a juicy interior. It had a spicy kick to it that wasn't too overbearing. Overall, I'd say their chicken is worth the price. It's the sides (from my experience) that could be better.
