Wish we had found out about this place sooner. It's a great concept since all the recent studies show that "socialization window" for puppies closes at ~16 weeks. It's also crucial to start earlier on to train acquired bite inhibition (ABI). However, we have that conundrum where most people won't get their pups until 7-8 weeks then you've got the limited window between the multiple rounds of vaccinations before you can start bringing them meet other dogs. On top of that, this year we have the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally when my SO called this place I think they had an automated voicemail that they weren't accepting any new puppies back in June/July. Then when I called again in mid August they only had specific dates in the middle of the week to start on the "first day". It makes sense they want to help the dogs succeed and gain confidence by not overwhelming them with the full class. They also recommend that you pick up the puppy earlier at around 2 or 3pm instead of the full session. The price is affordable at $35 per day and there's a slight discount if you purchase a pack of 5 classes for $150. Their hours are a bit shorter than the big dog full daycare at 8am - 6pm. What's nice is that they also have dedicated nap times here so it's not active time the whole day. They also will feed the class during lunch so you don't need to worry about sending food with the pups. I wonder whether my dog reinforced the preference of eating kibble off the ground rather than from her bowl. They have a fairly small facility especially with the tight front parking shared with other neighboring businesses. As this was my first "daycare" experience I wasn't sure how the updates and photos/videos would be shared with my dog. The actual daycare facility was fine, however the communication between Jody (the owner) and one of the other staff that responded or relayed messages to me or my SO was confusing. I didn't realize that all of the updates were shared throughout the day via their Instagram story... instead of through the Gingr website through a "report card" so we missed the first day. What if the pet parents aren't on social media...? The subsequent days we sent her I was able to capture one of her stories. In addition, we received notice on the first day that she probably would not be a good fit... but no formal message via email or call just relayed in passing to my SO who dropped the dog off. Then less than 1 week later we receive a canned email message talking about "Graduating" the dog soon after starting. Even though most of the dogs in the classes don't graduate until 6-9 months... We learned that she was "too fast, athletic, smart" -- all positive adjectives/euphemisms I imagine to push our puppy out to make room for better pups. Of course this message completely confused me so I responded immediately seeking clarification. It caused me panic trying to find a new daycare so I scrambled to reach out to The Dog Retreat. Thankfully we were able to switch her over and used up the rest of the 5 pack we purchased at the Dog Therapy. Also one day when I picked up Juneau over the summer from the daycare I was waiting for one lady who was bantering endlessly with the owner before I could enter the area. They seemed like great friends and a better client profile fit so after waiting for about 5 minutes they finally wrapped up their conversation giving me an annoyed look as if I was interrupting their conversation. The owner barely even acknowledged me as I picked up the dog with and scant feedback about the puppy's demeanor throughout the day (probably knowing that we soon would no longer be their problem). One other strange issue were "allergens" in the facility. After 3 classes, she started sneezing uncontrollably non-stop... they sent out an email about potential ragweed also warnings for pet parents to keep their dogs home in case of contagious kennel cough. We wanted to be extra cautious as first time pet parents so we took her to the Vet unnecessarily -- it cleared up on its own and disqualified us for future claims with our Trupanion insurance (not directly their fault but still leaves a bad impression) when Kindness Animal Hospital unnecessarily prescribed cough pills now deemed as a "pre-existing condition". Anyway, I could see how this could be a great option if timing works out for you that they accept your puppy early on. Unfortunately we enrolled our dog on the later end of the age spectrum and it felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of her to make room for more Instagram worthy dogs with pet parents that have time to manage their dogs' social media accounts... read more

This is absolutely the best place to take your puppy. They only take puppies, so you dont have to worry about your new furry friend getting hurt by bigger dogs, or exhausted (puppies need more sleep than older dogs). They also help potty train, work on socialization, sharing, and inside noises. I work full-time and could not have raised a well-adjusted dog without Dog Therapy. My friend got a new puppy a few months before i did, and brought him to a typical doggie daycare. The difference between our dogs is night and day - hes stll not potty trained, doesnt like most other dogs, and is afraid of kids. I think this is almost entirely due to my dog going to Dog Therapy and hers not. Lastly, Jody and her team are great about communicating, and i always feel calm when i drop my dog off - which is saying a lot when youre walking into a building full of excited puppies :) take your dog here, its one of the best decisions you can make!! read more

As I dropped off my beloved Alfie this morning, I couldn't help but be so thankful for Dog Therapy. Our 6 month puppy was absolutely THRILLED to be dropped off for a day of fun with his other furry friends. When I first started looking for a doggie daycare for our energetic puppy to join, I visited several spots. All were nice, but FILLED with dogs. Sometimes up to 30-40 at a time with just a few people friends to watch over them. It made me nervous that our sweet, sometimes shy and awkward puppy would be overwhelmed. While worrying about this at the dog park a fellow neurotic dog mom let me know about Dog Therapy and Jody. When I walked in I wanted to cry with joy. The space is small, but sweet and PERFECT for puppies. Jody accepts only about 10 dogs a day. This gives her plenty of time to not only provide the dogs a safe space to play, but to also work on basic puppy manners. This includes potty training, recall, sharing, inside voices (no barking), and socialization. Plus, you can just see how much Jody enjoys her work and the dogs. When we drop Alfie off in the morning, he doesn't look back once at us. When we pick him up, he is wiped out. In addition, we get to see all kinds of fun updates on the Dog Therapy facebook page! I wish i could give this place 10 stars. What a genius idea, a puppy only daycare. 8-12 weeks is the key socialization window for puppies and is the time to expose them to everything - dogs, cats, children, all kinds of people, loud sounds, etc. ..But so many people are afraid to take their pups out before they are fully vaccinated and so many of us don't want to put them in the care of just any random joe shmoe out there.. one bad experience with an inexperienced dog walker or poorly run daycare can traumatize a puppy. We got a Great Dane baby a month ago and I was obsessive about making sure he would grow up to be well adjusted and to set him up for success, especially since he is going to be a giant very soon. Dog Therapy is the solution to all of this. It's puppies only so no need to worry about unvaccinated or sickly dogs. Since they're all so young they're more receptive to learning how to play appropriately with each other, instead of bullying and intimidating. And since it is not as crowded as a regular doggy daycare, there's a good staff to pup ratio and you can be sure your puppies are being supervised well. They make sure to teach puppies that the world around them isn't scary, how to play nice and be gentle, to potty outside, to share toys and food. Jody and Emma are so in tune and awesome with all of them. They know every puppy's name and habits and they post photos and tell you stories about what your puppy did that day. Jody taught me how to teach our puppy to lie down, and also recommended a great private trainer. She is always sharing knowledge with me and answering all the questions i have, which is a lot because this is my first dog ever! I love coming to drop off or pick up my puppy; it's so great to see him somewhere safe and happy and it's also awesome meeting everyone else's adorable babies. I wish i had afternoons free so I could come by during their human visiting hours. Thinking about our puppy one day having to graduate to doggy daycare or a dog walker already makes me sad.... read more

I'm very happy i found this place and live so close by. The whole idea of having a daycare specifically for puppies is brilliant. I'm sure i'm not the only one who gets nervous when a full size dog tries to play with your tiny precious puppy -- so this place is the solution to your worries! My puppy is beyond excited when he realizes he's going to the daycare, and immediately forgets about my existence once he gets inside (this is where i get sad). He always looks clean and smells fresh when i pick him up - I'm honestly not sure how Jody makes it happen with all the action going on there for the whole day. We've been going here almost every day for about a month now, and i feel that my pup is safe there and definitely having a blast with his friends. Jody knows all pups by name, very sweet in a way she talks to them, always personally greets them in a morning and says goodbye at the end of the day. She also knows who your pup is friends with in a group, can tell you a highlight of your dog's day and doesn't forget to give your pup a medicine if he needs to. I mean - who else would you trust your puppy with? I very much like that visitors are allowed at certain hours to come in to hang out with the dogs, so they could socialize with kids and adults. Dog Therapy is a one-of-a-kind business model and I feel lucky to live so near by! Jody and Emma are fabulous and have such a gentle affinity towards puppies. For a first-time dog owner like myself, they model the perfect parenting skills. Most importantly though, my 5mo cockapoo puppy Arlo loves going and I feel confident that he is safe and having fun. He has already developed fantastic social skills with other dogs and I receive many compliments on how well socialized he is. They have been so comforting and helpful to my nervous-new mother soul. We brought our somewhat shy rescue pup to Dog Therapy shortly after rescuing him to ensure he was socialized appropriately. Ever since that first day we have been obsessed. Jody and her staff care for each dog like their own and ensure that your dog has a fun and safe time. We had been to other daycares before Dog Therapy and I was always somewhat uneasy leaving my puppy there, but not at Dog Therapy. My dog is thrilled every time we pull up to the building and can't get in the gates fast enough. He comes home exhausted every time from all of the playing and socializing. My puppy Seamus was shy before we came to dog therapy . He had suffered a bad bite to his face on a walk when he had just turned 4 months old . He was scared of snarky dog play sounds and would bolt if he heard them . We came to Dog Therapy on the advice of our trainer to find a small well supervised play space for puppies to help him understand normal dog play and enjoy all the fun without fear . It has worked like a charm ! By his second visit he made good friends with every dog there including dogs who make all sorts of growly sounds . They play fight and chase and tug toys and he has no shyness about anything . He is a giant breed and is super gentle with all the smaller puppies as well as happy to wrestle and play the older dogs who are his size . Jody has been absolutely great ! Seamus loves her and all the puppies , and actually cries to get in the door each morning . He goes for half days and when I bring him home he is so relaxed , and calm and needs a giant nap . We are so fortunate to have found Dog Therapy and to live only about 5 minutes away. We started sending our goldendoodle (Cider!) when she was 3 months old. Jody is the best with dogs. We first met her during puppy school at Petco and we're thrilled that she has her own place now. We left our dog there for the first time last weekend. He was so happy to see the place with tons of toys and pillows. Jody is great at socializing dogs together and works in training at every opportunity. Our puppy is all tuckered out after a great weekend. We've already signed him up for a bunch of other weekends over the summer and we love knowing we won't have to worry about our dog while we're on vacation.
