We first mosied towards the quiet bar but located a table on the way; next to us, Jill, friendly as any hostess, was creating an artsy Halloween backdrop to enhance her area. Andater, she even shared a warm slice of the day's special, a cheesy chicken-broccoli flatbread pizza. (So good, after we ordered one for home!) Her bartender-server colleague Melissa also stood out; fielding questions, taking our order, and even crafting a unique Hot Toddy and Gin-Lime Martini. Then the dishes started: first, a steaming bowl of really decent chowder; then Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens for hot sides; with a chilled mixed greens side salad drenched in a light champagne vinegarette - and ample enough to satisfy a small family!
