Spicy Italian with Dijon Mustard and Cayenne Sauce
    Eric M.

DOG is a food truck that serves a variety of hotdogs and sausages. I had recently DOG at the Gilman Brewing Company. DOG was on Gilman's schedule and the food was a great choice after some beer. I ordered the Spicy Italian sausage and it was delicious. The casing of the sausage had the perfect snap every time I bit into it. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. The bun was a good balance of soft and flakey. The food cart was clean and fresh. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food took about 15 minutes to prepare, which is not what I was expecting for a hotdog food truck. Nevertheless, the food was worth the wait. If you're out around the Bay Area and happen to see DOG in your neighborhood, I recommend you give it a try!

Hot dog, veggie dog, side of slaw, tots and spicy ketchup

I never knew a hot dog could be THIS GOOD. Their fresh-made buns are exceptionally delicious-- warm, fluffy and lightly toasted to perfection. The dogs themselves were juicy and flavorful. We had a regular and a veggie dog and both were awesome. Their crisp, fresh slaw is so good, I'd eat it straight up. They really treat every ingredient with care. We also enjoyed the side of tots + spicy ketchup.

Two veggie dogs, tater tots, and cole slaw

Chris and Lisa are so nice, on top of the great dogs they have. The type of owners you want to support.

We had seen…read morethe cute little Dojo Dog food truck (well, food trailer) before -- and this time gave it a try. Glad we did! Rebecca was running the truck with her husband, and they were warm, friendly, and hard-working. That same care reflected in the food. Comforting flavors, big portions, and just what we needed. ---- Food ---- The hot dogs here are big, delicious, and fantastic value for the price. Wushu Dog: Loved this one. Inventive and delicious. Great texture, topped with pork sung and crispy cabbage, plus katsu sauce and Japanese mayo. Savory, crunchy, and satisfying. Sumo Dog: Japanese curry beef chili with cheese and fresh scallions. Hearty, comforting, and perfect for that chilly evening. Fried Foods: We didn't try, any but they serve fries and potstickers too. The fries seemed to be a crowd favorite at Great Notion Brewery next door (which is partnered with Dojo Dog). Definitely getting them next time. Rebecca told me she enjoys experimenting with new dishes, and the creativity shows. Looking forward to trying more! ---- Drinks ---- We didn't but drinks as we were enjoying beer at Great Notion, but Dojo Dog also offer drinks like milk tea. ---- Bonus ---- As I mentioned, they partner with Great Notion, one of our FAVORITE bars in the Bay with the best smoothie beers and stouts. You can bring your Dojo Dog inside and pair it with their awesome beers. Inventive hot dogs + beer = awesome evening ---- Vibe ---- Cute little food truck, family-run charm, friendly service, and an endearing hole-in-the-wall feel. The whole setup feels local and community-driven. In fact, it was originally created by Berkeley students. Very cool. ---- Overall ---- Amazing hot dogs, great beer next door, friendly owners, inventive sides, and a fun, low-key vibe. It will hit the spot every time. Can't wait to come back and try more from their menu!

Making drinks for a crowd takes time and the staff always does their best. The people who come here are super friendly which adds to the welcoming, cozy vibe of the place. I'll give it to them, Tallboy is a solid concept with their "tinis & weenies". However, a clever…read moreconcept can carry a place so far. Customer service is a close second to concept. Tallboy's martini menu is well-executed. While I didn't personally try one of the slushies, a friend ordered the espresso martini version and gave it a solid thumbs-up. Unfortunately, the experience falls apart when it comes to food and service. Waiting 30+ minutes for two hot dogs (after paying) is hard to justify. When I checked in with a server, she was curt and dismissive. She was quick to explain there was only one person in the kitchen, with no effort to offer a solution, timeline, or even basic courtesy. I understand staffing issues happen. However, customer service is a close second to concept. How an issue is communicated and addressed is what separates good service from bad. What's more frustrating is that these aren't customer problems to absorb. If the kitchen is understaffed, if tables aren't being cleared in a timely manner at a seat-yourself spot, those are management problems. Guests should not have to choose to leave without the food we paid for. There's a lot of competition out there, and concepts alone aren't enough to bring people back. I genuinely wanted that hot dog. That's probably the most disappointing part of the whole experience. Great drinks, solid ambiance, but the service needs serious attention.
