I walked-in at 9:15 am to a busy waiting room. I was told that there would be an approx. 3 hour wait. Since my situation was not a true emergency and the facility was busy, 3 hrs. did not seem like an extraordinary wait time. I was told that I could go home and expect a phone call at approx. 12:15, at which time I would return to the facility to be seen. At approx. 9:30, I received a text message from the facility, stating that I would now be seen at 4:45, which is 7 1/2 hours (not 3 hours) after walking-in. I then called the facility for clarification and the young woman told me that it may be 4:45 or it could be sooner or perhaps even later, before I would be seen. Later? They close at 7 pm, so maybe I would not be seen at all today? I'm also supposed to wait by the phone the entire day for ......? EPIC FAIL Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and Doctors On-Duty! Always busy, doctors suck. I went in knowing I had strep before because my partner had been diagnosed with it a couple days prior and they look at you like you're an alien from mars when you tell them what's wrong. Also.. they ONLY have Spanish good rx cards, no English ones to be found. Like idc if you have French and Japanese up there along side them. But Spanish is not the common language, I expect the English ones to be on display as well. read more

I had an ankle sprain that wasn't healing after two weeks but I was dreading sitting in a walk-in urgent care center for hours. I finally gave in and went to Doctors on Duty on South Main Street in Salinas. After the sign in stuff, I was called in ten minutes. Dr. Bill came in and set up getting an x-ray in maybe 15 minutes. Broken ankle was the diagnosis! Had a Velcro boot and was out the door a little over an hour total! Bill was very personable, as was Yasmile during my intake interview. I showed up as a walk-in patient. I waited 4 1/2 hours. I checked in with the two "busy" ladies at least 4 times before being told the computer sign in had apparently dropped my name. But they'd checked the screen and said it would be only a little while. I tried several times to make an appointment at home and in the office. The system is convoluted and frustrating so I decided to try walking in. In office, they said the next appointment for urgent care was a month away. Please look up the definition of the word "urgent". People with COVID symptoms are being sent away to a testing site. It would make sense to refer people out for COVID tests if they have COVID symptoms before they've sat in the waiting room for hours. I've been waiting with at least 5 COVID spreaders so far this am. I'll be pretty unhappy if I catch COVID while waiting here. I came in for something un related. I left and returned when they said and have now been waiting for half an hour. read more

4-year update: Primecare no longer runs this place, and after the facility was shuttered for a while, they are back in operation under a different entity and the Doctors and staff are great. Dr. Lake was especially impressive. They are kind, considerate, sensitive to very personal issues, and have gone the extra mile. To me it's like night and day, although the staff out front was always fine in the past. I wanted to draw a distinction between my experience 4-years ago with one or two Doctors there, and the current environment. I'm glad they are back in business and near my home in Harden Ranch. read more

The ladies who check you in are always very friendly and cheerful. I had my second shot today with Jackie who also gave me my first shot. She is extremely friendly, has a great bedside manner and makes you feel very welcome. She remembers where I work and my family. Even after not coming in for almost a year. Now that is customer service! I hope to return the gratitude if she comes into my job next door!! Patients PLEASE READ... One star for having to wait 3 hours to be seen, No Doctor but a Physician's Assistant (PA), I will say Denise, the PA is good, but she is still learning the ropes. If you are on workers comp... ya get what you get. Miscommunication between PA and staff and having to call the manager to get paperwork corrected because the PA at this facility wants me to jump back to work even in pain, give me meds and therapy without actually knowing what the problem is. Two trips to ER and this place ignores what the emergency room doctor advised, rest, stay home, get an MRI and go from there. So after all this and going to the pharmacy... I learned that some incompetent receptionist incorrectly entered my info... Urgent care is closed, I'm out of pain medication and I have to wait till Monday to try and get my information corrected again and hope I do not have to drive to Salinas (60 miles) to get correct info on prescription. I came in expecting the usual, receptionist w shit attitudes. Instead I got super friendly, warm, and caring attention. Same with triage, Jackie and (I hope her name was): Angie, super friendly, caring, and warm. My provider that day was Denise Doronila, same thing, super friendly, warm and caring. Either the office manager for this location runs an extremely tight ship, or everyone working here is just amazing, or both, but this is the kind of place you want to go to when you're sick, or injured, because they show compassion. Now I know some providers move around from Urgent cares to Urgent cares bc they're affiliates, so I did almost have a run-in with a provider who happened to be here from S. Salinas Doctors on Duty the day I came into HUC. I asked to not be seen by her bc she just doesn't give a shit about people or maybe certain people... idk. But she does give off a holier than thou vibe. But anyway, I recommend being seen by Denise Doronila, she's AMAZING. read more

Poor customer service, staff at reception was rude. Went in to Urgent Care since my physician was unavailable and per her recommendation. Was told that staff wouldn't be able to see me and that I needed to go to the ER. Called Urgent care on S Main with my exact symptoms and they were able to see me as a walk in. Staff at S Main Urgent care were surprised that I was told by N Main urgent staff to go to ER. read more

This place is so clutch! So it's new years day, and I need some care (urgently ha ha). I called a lot of urgent care places around santa cruz, and most places were closed or charging $150-$300 for a visit. So this being a weekend and a holiday, i thought i would be forced to fork up the big bucks. Instead, I headed to Harden Urgent care which only cost my copay for insurance. This place has the friendliest staff (front desk, nurse, doctor). The wait wasn't that bad considering all of the conditions. The doctor, Alfred Sadler, was beyond helpful and informational. I was unable to find my prior review.. technical difficulties. On march 22, 2017 I went into this facility with a serious sprain to my right ankle. And a very bad Sinus infection. I was treated by Dr. Lake. She provided more than beyond my expectations, as did all the staff. The front desk.. On duty xray tech and office Manager Leslie were very caring and concerned. I am happy to have found a facility nearby to fill in when my Doctors are not available or I am unable to make a trip to carmel vally or pacific grove to see my regular Doctors. By far the worst experience ever. I twisted by ankle at work. Since it was late afternoon, i called ahead. Receptionist told me that as long as i show up 30 minutes before closing, i would still be seen. Rushed over and made it on time. Waiting room is empty. Luck me? Not really. Doc is dressed in street closing and on her way out. I tell her that its 30 before closing and I'm hurt. She tells me that she doesnt have time for me to fill out my forms and that i should find another urgent care. Unbelievable! read more

After posting this review I received several phone calls from the urgent care addressing my issues and concerns. Insurance questions get deferred to a billing office and staff was mildly friendly with a little attitude. A return phone call for a patient not feeling well who was seen days ago takes 24 hrs or if you need faster attention you can walk in wait, pay your copay and have your insurance billed all over again. I do not recommend this place at all! The office manager, Leslie, was very unprofessional! Apparently my previous visit there was denied. She told me if I didnt pay half I couldnt be seen. I had insurance and it shouldnt have been denied. I was so sick i could not go any where else. I went to my car to calm down and called my insurance company. They did not have record of the claim. I gave my phone to the office manager and needless to say the issue was fixed! If i had the strength to go anywhere else I would have done so immediately! No compassion or no customer service! LONG wait then to top it off the prescription was faxed to the pharmacy WITHOUT a doctor signature so they could not fill it. They were already closed when the pharmacy called (put a sign outside saying they were closing 3 1/2 hours early that day) so I had to wait til the next day. When I called the office to tell em what happen in the morning, it was business as usual an they didn't even attempt to apologize for the doctor's mistake. Only leads me to believe that this happens often. That's not all, my pharmacy calls me to verify the prescription because they received one from Urgent Care but the birthdate was wrong!! Came here with some tightness in my back. I had been dealing with the pain for about two weeks. I was greeted by the receptionist and checked in. I was there around 9 and was taken into the room around 930. The nurse practitioner/student came in and explained she would talk to me about what my issue was and then Dr. Lake would come in. She was VERY efficient and thorough. So impressed. Dr. Lake was awesome as well. Truly an awesome experience with a Doctor and nurse practitioner in a very long time. I am a nurse case manager and travel to a lot of Occ Medical clinics and specialist office. I have been extremely impressed with Harden Urgent Care. The place feels clean and has an area where you can sit apart from the main waiting room should you want to stay away from contagious people in the winter time. I am extremely impressed with Vivianna and Rosa . They are very professional and greet me with a smile. When I am at the office or when I call the office these three ladies have always been kind, courteous and helpful to me. I can trust they will fax me or give me the information I need in the office in order to assist in coordination of medical treatment for my work comp claimants. Harden Urgent Care is one of my favorite places to go to for my job. read more

My son cut his finger on a fence at school. It was bleeding badly at school, but had stopped when I got to him. I took him to the urgent care at Harden in case he needed stitches, and they got us in before I could even finish the paperwork. They were not only fast and efficient, but also very friendly and helpful. He got four stitches and is healing nicely. He was very scared when we went in, but was eager to tell all his friends about his wound by the time we left. They talked him through the whole process. read more

I really enjoy coming here. They make you feel at home. Dr. Grey is fantastic he really does his research and will show you his research about whatever condition you have. Just ask for him if he is present there for that day. Overall the wait time to go in a room is ok. Wish it could be faster. You would probably be waiting for 30 mins or more to enter a room.
