Finally I found Steve! I brought my 120 pounds of tax returns and business files to Steve's Shredding. Steve helped me bring them in from my car. I watched and chatted with Steve as he shredded them. In about 20 minutes it was all done, his price was very reasonable, and I wished I had more to shred so I could talk with him longer. I live an hour drive from Steve's place, so I scheduled another appointment in Portland the same day to make the trip worth it. No need for that, Steve is worth a special trip any time. I appreciated the friendly customer service I received each time I called them. They walked me through all of the services / options they offered (including on-site and off-site shredding) and helped me figure out what would work best for me. They even worked with me when I realized that my company had approximately twice the amount of boxes we originally thought we needed to dispose of. Everybody I called from Shred Northwest was super friendly. I really appreciated how each customer representative took the time to answer all of my questions regarding different shredding options, pricing, and the shredding process. This was my first time using any shredding company, and I had called several other companies in Portland to request quotes. Some of the other companies weren't that friendly or helpful, and others were much smaller operations that functioned out of a person's home (which didn't feel as secure to me). I definitely liked how Shred Northwest had the capacity to load 120 boxes into their truck and shred all of it at a secure location. If he's not, he's usually able to meet you within a reasonable amount of time. I have called Phil on weekends at the last minute to ask if I can bring my shredding in. He's always helpful in working with you so that you could drop off your shredding. The first couple of times I drove to Salem Shred I ended up driving around and around looking for the business. Salem Shred has an address of Lancaster Drive but the warehouse type building is located behind the Blue Willow restaurant on Lancaster Drive. If I need any shredding done in the future, I would definitely call Phil.

They put documents in a locked vault until they shred at the end of day. If you wish you can make arrangements to watch as they directly shred them. A large red recycle tote full of documents is $10. If you need to securely shred more documents than you can in a home or office shredder, but you don't have enough to justify a delivery/pickup service, you need to go here. They're always extremely nice, the service is fast, and there's rarely a line. You just drive to the loading area, park, and press the button outside the door. Bonus if you live in downtown-ish Vancouver and you don't want to haul your boxes of debris all over the place. They also have delivery/pickup services and imaging services.
