Complete scam of a shop. Tried to charge me $100 for them to "enter service mode" on my Tesla. For those that don't know, this takes less than 5 seconds. When I enquired about that charge they said "that's what we can get some customers in the area" Yikes-- didn't even fix the issue on my car either! Stay away and use Tesla service centers or your own manufacturers service centers. Quality will be higher and price will be lower. read more

Went to get a minor repair and pay out of pocket. Office staff inspected the needed repair, took my information and promised to get me an estimate shortly. After receiving no contact, I returned 2 weeks later and the owner examined the vehicle and made the same promises. 2 more weeks later, I called and was promised an estimate in a day or so. 2 wees later, I took my business elsewhere and the inspection, part order and repair took 48 hours. Dobbs wasted my time and jerked me around with false promises. TERRIBLE. read more

If you have insurance with State Farm and your vehicle is not a Tesla, do not go to Dobbs Auto Body Shop in Springfield under any circumstances. They have conflicts regarding the labor rate and do not have a good relationship with local adjusters. This can lead to them using up your rental car allowance without completing any work on your vehicle. Additionally, they may attempt to keep any payments that State Farm sends them. This situation can create unnecessary stress during an already difficult time and could result in a loss of funds initially sent for your repairs. You have been warned! read more

Too busy for their own good. A tree branch fell on my Range Rover sport so I took it to Dobbs. I have had many cars worked on over the years but each time with declining service. They were backed up for 3 weeks so Brad asked me to give him my quote so he could speak with insurance while I wait. When I followed up weeks later, he lost my quote and forgot about my car so we had to the start the process all over. He then claims to have submitted a proposal to rectify the labor rate. After speaking with my rep multiple times, Insurance never received it and I never heard from him until I followed up (2 phone calls and an email) to which this was his 2 sentence reply "told me several weeks ago they will not pay our labor rate. They haven't contacted you since then?". No additional details to help rectify the situation. Now I'm 6 weeks behind on getting my car repaired because of their lack of communication. Used to do great work at this shop but unfortunately would no longer recommend. read more

I recently had a car accident and my insurance company recommeded three body shops in the area. I came in contact with all of them. Dobbs Auto Body Shop in Springfield, NJ was one of the recommendations, and I spoke to the owner, Brad. I explained the damage, the fact that my car was fairly new, and I had some issues and concerns about the repairs. Brad was polite, very professional, took the time to listen and assured me that the workmanship was going to be excellent, I should not worry, and the paint would match perfectly. He made me feel at ease, and I asked him to have my car towed to his shop for the repairs. A few days later, I received a call that my car was ready. I left my rental car at Dobbs for them to make arrangements to be picked up by Enterprise. When they showed me my car, I was amazed how great it looked, just like a brand new car! Noone would suspect that it was in an accident. I am very pleased and happy with the work they did. They used new Toyota parts, which was one of my concerns, and as Brad had mentioned, the paint matched perfectly. By the way, their customer service department is very efficient and Linda prepared all the paperwork. They also did a very nice job cleaning my car inside and out, it was a pleasure driving it home. I recently brought my Porsche to Dobbs for some body repair. I choose them over many other options, including Porsche dealer body shops because I had two prior excellent experiences with this company. Brian (owner) is hands on. His staff (clearly hand selected by him) is made up of experienced craftsmen who do truly amazing work. I could not be happier with the quality of the workmanship and the timeliness of the completion of each of the three different jobs I have entrusted to them. 10 stars for Dobbs! PS: I am so crazy about my car that it in fact has never, ever been washed by anyone other than myself(including the Porsche dealer when new). The Dobbs staff understood my need to wash the car and allowed me to do it myself. I tied up a space they needed, but they patiently waited for me to do my thing. Try this at another auto body shop.
