I saw the same lamp base at Target selling for $40. They swapped the lamp shade and call it "VINTAGE"!

Believe the bad reviews when you seem em!!! I'm so disappointed in this so-called "vintage" store. They try to rip you off by selling you cheap and newly made items while tagging them as "vintage". Nothing makes me more mad than a company that LIES and deceives people! Not surprised a previous reviewer said she saw a rug from World Market at Dobbin store. Shameful!!! I visited the Greenpoint location and a table lamp with a pleated lamp shade caught my eye. When I walked up closer to it I picked it up and lo and behold a MADE IN CHINA sticker was stuck to the bottom of the lamp base. At that point I started to question the authenticity of what they said they're selling. I reviewed the store (on 39 Norman ave.) on Google. This was their response: [Just because an item has a "made in China" sticker doesn't necessarily mean it's not vintage. Overseas manufacturing overseas began in the 70's and more prominently in the 1980s so depending on the lamp you were looking at it's possible that it was vintage AND made in China."] If you're reading this look at my photo- the lamp has a US plug and oh BTW, I came across the exact same lamp base selling at Target for $40. Dobbin tried to sell this to me for $95! It's easy to swap a lamp shade to fool you. This isn't what you call "vintage" - anyone should know better.

I am very confused about the so-so reviews here, but okaaay…read more I had a series of talks with Henry (the owner/manager), and it's clear he cares more about enduring relationships and people feeling like they got a quality chair at a fair price, than just fleecing customers. There are a lot of overpriced furniture places. I found the quality of their products to be very high, and prices were not listed because they discount with volume. The showroom in NYC (Brooklyn), also, was a boon. I spoke with an on-site designer and was able to actually customize some chairs for an interior decorator client of mine. I would recommend anybody go to The Chair Market.

The Chair Factory has a large "covid 19 sale" banner out front but when I visited the salesman I talked to refused to wear a mask stating that "he had already had covid" even as cases are on the rise all over the country, unnecessarily endangering the lives of his customers. He seemed put off when I then asked we stand 6 feet apart. This behavior goes beyond inconsiderate and enters the territory of reckless and terrifying. Do not shop here if you value your life. As a reminder, we are in the middle of a pandemic, we wear masks for the safety of others not for ourselves, even if you have endured COVID it is possible to get it again. Wash your hands wear a mask and don't go to The Chair Factory.

Luis and his family are very educated, dignified and transparent in their business and interpersonal transactions. They eagerly share their vast knowledge and do not pressure or hustle you in any way, shape or form. I felt so relaxed I thought I was talking to a well reknowned art curator at the Metropolitan Museum. They realize that estate or antiques sales more often than not brings emotions to the forefront. They do not take advantage of this sentimental inclination. Their amazing comprehensive command of period design, architecture, artistinal manufacturing, contemporary and traditional art, collectibles, multicultural symbolism, recent market and taste trends is stunning. Further, Junior has a warm sincere manner when speaking to anybody in the family from children, cynical adults or otherwise vulnerable elderly members. Bedford is a classic "mom and pop" shop that has a deeply rooted human touch lacking in more grandiose, faceless commercial institutions. Such small businesses must be venerably cherished as they are protected by local and federal entities. Excellent all the way !

This included which fabrics are the most pet-claw resistant. Also, I needed a desk, and the store does not display these. But Marcelina pointed me to a perfect one on the website. And Marcelina was very efficient. With her help, we made our selections in about one-half hour. We had purchased two chairs and a couch from Joybird in April when we moved into our new home and have been delighted with them. From this visit, we added new items for two more rooms and are extremely happy with what we ordered.

So I wandered into Joybird just to get an idea of what is out there. I spoke with Eugenia over the phone before heading over and she was really sweet. Upon entering the Showroom I first noticed a stunning gold velvet couch in the front window; Mid Century Modern, with a gorgeous MCM chair across from it. I have never been a huge fan of MCM but my husband is. After chatting at length with a different Saleswoman named Jane I ended up ordering the Mid Century Modern sofa bed in gold velvet, along with the floor model MCM chair, also in a gold toned fabric. The chair fit perfectly in my car so I excitedly drove it home. The chair looks fabulous in our living room and I am actually in LOVE with Mid Century Modern now! Can't wait for our made to order Sofa Bed to arrive. Jane was really great about guiding me through the process of choosing the right pieces. I started to order a different style of couch but at the last second my instincts prompted me to go with that gorgeous MCM piece. Jane was very patient and cordial with me even though they were trying to close. Her Customer Service is excellent! I can see by reading some of the Reviews that a few people have had a regrettable experience, and that IS a bummer! But MOST of the Reviews are positive and I'm confident that my experience will remain positive. Looking forward to enjoying our beautiful pieces for many years. That's if our cat Milo behaves himself. (I did purchase the Pet Protection Plan, lol).
