Not for me. Super pricey, the cheapest thing I saw here was a $25 t-shirt with a hole in it. A lot of things were priced at $45, like sweaters and dresses. Some things were real vintage and some felt like new vintage inspired pieces because there would be ten of the same thing on a rack. I'd say the best section was the shoes, lots of Doc Martins, vans, and converse. This place is packed with stuff which makes it hard to move around and look through the racks. It was very busy so I guess other people like it but I don't consider this to be real thrifting. This is a curated vintage store and you pay the price for it. read more

Well it looks like I've found my new favorite vintage spot. Incredible and curated selection, well organized, and every piece I saw was in perfect or close to perfect condition. Pricing was honestly very reasonable and I ended up leaving with a ton of great finds. The staff was super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, and the space was larger than I initially thought it would be - there's a whole back room with even more great stuff. The only piece that got away was a beautiful 50's jacket that fit perfectly but I had already spent far more than I had originally intended. Having come back time and time again, this is probably my favorite vintage clothing store of all time! I usually go into vintage and thrift stores with specific styles and pieces in mind, and I can generally find what I want or something similar here because the selection is so extensive! The prices here are very fair too, compared to other stores in the area. Plus, the staff here are very relaxed and kind! I recently came in with my friend who has diabetes so she keeps a pack of candy on her in case her blood sugar gets low. Although food or drink isn't allowed in the store, we explained her condition to the worker at bag check-in and they were very accommodating and allowed her to keep the candy on her. read more

I'm not a huge vintage shopper by any means but even to the untrained eye I can tell the inventory is impressive. They have a small rack of dead stock items from the 70s and a decent assortment of straw hats ranging from $20-$35. I found some leather European wedge shoes ($25) that - while not vintage - their gold leather straps would lend itself nicely to the clothes here! read more

Give yourself plenty of time to browse this store as it is packed full of finds. Lots of dead stock items from the 70s I think, with plenty of shoes all over including an impressive amount of converse shoes under some clothing racks. The changing rooms are open which is helpful when thrifting. Plenty of mirrors too. The back section seems to be all men's clothes and the front section women's. The clothing racks are also mostly ordered by size compared to most places where all sizes are mixed together. Lots of jeans, shirts, slip dresses, and shoes. Walked into the wrong store(must've been that NYC humidity/heat getting to me) and I was sorely disappointed because I'd thought it was 10 Ft Single By Stella Dallas. I would've missed this place if not for my dad pointing it out next door. At first sight, there's a lot to sift through, but a lot of the items were duplicates. I enjoy how there were pairs of shoes strewn throughout the store along with the clothes so I didn't have to stay in one section and be around other shoppers for too long. Only thing is the employees didn't approach me to ask if I needed help. I think they thought I was going to try to steal something too because when I tried some jackets on, they'd circle around my area multiple times until I was done. Despite that, I ended up getting 2 jackets that came out to $125. Good place to check out if you enjoy vintage finds, but as a thrift shop is way too overpriced!! read more

Beware of some of their dates on clothes. Saw a leather flight jacket in their back room dated to 1940's US Navy, yet it was an Avirex jacket, a brand founded in the 70's. Definitely do your own research on some of their pieces, this store can be quite deceptive, don't fall for it... read more

About a month ago I went to Stella Dallas in search for a trench coat. I took two or three to the fitting room with me. I tried on one after the other. The third one as I through it over my shoulders, I screeched in pain. I felt like i was stabbed. A three inch long safety pin was protruding through the shoulder of the jacket putting a gash into my shoulder blade. I threw the coat off and ran out of the store. I was in shock and for some reason embarrassed. Luckily the techno music was so loud they couldn't hear me scream. I hid my tears and left the store. I reached out to them via Instagram explaining that I don't want anything, I just want them to be more careful with their clothing. They didn't reply. I called them and asked the person at the cashier, "do you have access to the Stella Dallas Instagram?" The man replied "yes I do, how may I help you?" At that point I replied "check your DMs" they said "sure". Two months later the issue has not been addressed. I look in the mirror and see this scar. It really upsets me and no one should have to go through this because of ones carelessness. read more

This review is about management not the clothes. I went to the store because my best friend refuses to wear any non vintage clothes so we are always on the hunt for casual wear. I went to the store and the staff followed me around the entire store. Not sure how they thought I was going to stuff anything in a micro purse and cut off shorts but ok... It was a very uncomfortable experience. They have done this to me on more than 1 occasion. I noticed the one time they didn't follow me is when I was with my husband who is white. Charm's worn off. Rarely do I find something worthwhile and when I do there's something wrong with it. Some of the old shoes are great but they're nearly all 9' and 8's. Or they're clown size, little in the me range. There was a huge tear at the bottom of a button down shirt i liked and thought, hey, I'm a kind of wild guy, i'll take this off their hands! "Hi, excuse me, can you cut something off the price for this tear?" I asked the vacant broad at the register. She looked at me like i was some strung out loser. "No." then she added simply, "Price." "Yeah price, 25 bucks for this fine used shirt, but there's a huge rip in the bottom here." I lifted it up and showed her. Then I showed the silent guy standing next to her who was steaming some old dead guys suit. "Damaged," I pointed. Then I raised my voice over the steam machine, "huge rip!" A cloud of vapor belched forth and engulfed the guy so that I could no longer see him, and the girl just stared at me, holding a scissors defensively. Overall a great shop. My favorite vintage store at the moment. Got a great pair of Spanish leather shoes last time I went. My one big gripe is that it seems that they have a set price for each type of clothing article (e.g. 35$ for dresses) but will price the "cute" stuff higher (e.g. $75), even if it has flaws. In looking for a dress, I realized everything I liked was marked up but also had a stain or tear when I took a bundle to the fitting room. The lighting in the store is mostly dim, so do a thorough look over of anything you intend to buy. That being said, even with the mark ups the pricing here is much more reasonable than some other vintage shops, and the selection much larger yet still very well curated. However, stock moves really slow here. I visited the store the other day after not having been there in two weeks and there wasn't much of anything new. Finally, shopping can be a pain when the store is busy. There are some narrow but long aisles so you'll have to do a lot of squeezing past people or walking down and around the other end. read more

Went there for the first time today and there was a little bit of a wait (it was also a Saturday so of course a wait) but soooo worth it!! This is definitely my new favorite thrift store. The people working there were super nice. I found some great unique pieces. Sometimes when I go to the cheaper places there's not much because everything is picked over but I am willing to spend a little bit more for something unique and handled with care. I've been a big fan of 10 Ft Single in the past (been coming here for years), but I bought a silk shirt and a pair of vintage sandals here on Friday - the shirt and sandals were $25 each and $50 for two items is not exactly cheap - and both are already broken! I put the shirt on this morning and 3 buttons fell off, and the sandals literally fell apart by the time I got to work this morning.... Really disappointed. read more

I told myself before my trip that I couldn't leave NY without visiting at least one of their vintage/consignment shops. I love digging for buried treasures and finding hard to find clothing and knick knacks. If I got lucky, I'd just be happy to find one thing to take home with me as memorable souvenir. I was spending the day in Brooklyn and decided to stop here since it was nearby. It looked like construction was taking place outside the storefront, so I'm glad there was a sign with an arrow directing customers inside. It was already dark by the time I got here, so I probably would have by-passed the entrance had I not seen it. Don't expect this place to be a typical dusty, old-smelling, outrageously priced vintage clothing store. This shop is jam packed with a wide variety of vintage pieces carefully curated by the staff and neatly kept in its proper place. The general atmosphere carries a nostalgic old-time western, 70's/80's feel that somehow sucked me in and kept me staying here longer than I planned. They have no shortage of vintage tees, leather jackets, dresses, and boots in gently used condition. Don't forget to check out the back room of this place for deadstock military garments, letterman jackets, fur coats, and more! I was on the prowl for some vintage NY jacket/t-shirts and luckily found a sweater that looked like it came from a middle-school child from the 80's. I LOVE it! 10 Ft. Single is definitely a spot to check out and one to add to your list of go-to vintage shops in the New York area. This location wasn't super busy and had a lot of breathing room to look around. The huge selection (including a 40's & 50's room in the back) almost made me want to become one of those people that wear this stuff everyday. This place is awesome if you like unique vintage dresses and don't mind if they aren't in pristine condition. I always find at least one dress or skirt every time that fits me perfectly. Last visit I nabbed a totally adorable prairie dress for 35 bucks that fits like it was tailor made for me. The pricing is very simple: basically everything in the front room is $20-35. (Dresses and sweaters are all $35 not sure about men's pants or shirts though). The back room has higher end stuff (I guess) and dresses are $75. I guess these are designer, or "more vintage" I don't know. They have some beautiful vintage ball gowns I would take in a heartbeat if I had an occasion to wear them. Sometimes this place is just weird and random though. I saw a really cute "vintage" onesie in the back that had someone's full name written in across the chest in permanent marker. Now, I am the kind of person that might actually consider wearing something like this... but for $75? HA. No. Maybe for $10... I do love this place but you have to be careful. Be sure to double check for stains (pit stains!), tears, ring around the collar, or missing buttons because they do not accept returns. They have some great pieces at very reasonable prices though if you have the patience to really hunt for them. It's part of the fun! read more

My favorite second-hand shop in NYC. Year after year, this place is unchanged (thank goodness) and they always have the best selection of purses, shoes and clothes at affordable prices. I've purchased many cute leather purses for under $40, some of which are vintage coach! My husband and I always find great shoes here, wingtips, boots, even classic converse. This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite vintage stores in NY. I recently spent time in Japan and the vibes here remind me of the thrift stores in Kyoto. They have an amazing selection of items for both men and women that is both high quality and priced fairly. Offerings run the full gamut from old rock t-shirts, to army/navy/hunting jackets, flannel, boots, etc, also at a range of prices, which is nice. I love 10 Ft Single. I always find something here that's exciting and unique. However, it is a little overpriced. I shop mainly in the back room, and many of the items there have minor flaws or stains that aren't always visible in the dim lighting. If you pay $75 for a unique vintage dress elsewhere, you're usually getting something that's been dry cleaned and maintained a little better. If you don't mind doing a little surgery at home, most of these issues are relatively easily fixed. But I'd recommend that you really scrutinize things before you purchase them (especially as there's no price negotiations or returns/exchanges). read more

Cool place out in the middle-of-nowhere-Williamsburg. There is a large selection of both men's and women's clothes, shoes and accessories. I had a great time just browsing through the goods. I found a few vintage skirts/dresses that were pretty but just didn't work on me. The dressing rooms do not have mirrors,because they are just for changing into clothes. You've got to brave it (the scrutiny of other customers and the employees at the desk) and go show yourself right outside the stall in order to see yourself in the full-length mirror. I seriously felt like I floated back in time into some dream/fantasy closet when I walked through one of the small side entrances(on the right, in the back of the store) Trippy! and I am drug-free. When I went they were playing old Western/country music (and yes! i was humming/singing along...and totally weirding out my friend) and some sixties music, which I guess goes with the Stella Dallas theme. Prices hovered around 15 to 60 dollars for the stuff i was looking at, but the selection is interesting and in good condition. Some things were notably quite costume-y (for example, 2 or 3 fully sequined purple/pink/green/gold shirts that I dubbed "magician shirts") but I def. would go again. read more
