During that visit, he made unprompted remarks about my personal life that had nothing to do with the inspection. When I told him that his behavior felt intimidating, he responded that he had researched me on the "deep dark web." We then asked that our interactions remain strictly professional and limited to inspection-related matters, but he declined to agree to that boundary. The encounter left us feeling unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. We have since filed a formal complaint with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) regarding this incident. It is our personal recommendation to stay very far from this company. Homeowners deserve respect, professionalism, and basic privacy when inviting someone into their home.

I had a situation occur recently where our house filled with smoke from a faulty appliance and the smoke detector never went off. The builder stated the smoke detector was never installed but upon further inspection, it was installed as a 2-in-1 carbon monoxide/smoke detector, but it never activated. Either way, I explained to this person that I was trying to get down to the bottom of what happened and how this inspector (who I won't name) missed something so critical as a working or missing smoke detector. This person immediately gets defensive and said, "Ma'am, we do not do code inspections! We do visual inspections! And it seems like you're just looking for someone to blame!" He then went on to tell me to read the contract that I signed and that they are not obligated to look for a smoke detector in the house. WHAT????!!!! So, I paid your company to do a complete inspection of the house which includes electrical, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, foundation, etc and you tell me "We are not obligated to look for smoke detectors!" Your own website says: "As an InterNACHI Certified Professional, our Inspectors have the knowledge and expertise to provide you with a comprehensive and competent visual inspection of your home, from roof to foundation. So your tech conducts a "comprehensive and competent" visual inspection but you turn around and tell me "We're not obligated to look for smoke detectors!" Are you obligated to test the ones that are there? FIRE THE IDIOT YOU HAVE CALLING CUSTOMERS BACK!!!! He just cost you all this review and a complaint with TREC. Good job!

He worked with us to find the right placement for the equipment , and the company even incurred some added expenses for some additional testing. Nothing was done until we were satisfied with all decisions. Now, our Radon readings are between .48 and 1.5 down from 6.5. did I mention they were less expensive than the others. Upshot was mold damage at my home, in addition to everything else. M.J. Parrish was wonderfully courteous and sympathetic on taking my call and scheduling my appointment (for the next day). Michael Mitchell came out and went above and beyond to perform a very well-thought-out and thorough inspection and testing. He was careful all along the way to (i) make sure he understood all of my concerns, (ii) explain just what he was doing and why, (iii) answer my questions, and (iv) explain the process that would follow. The inspection report and lab test results I received (VERY PROMPTLY, just as promised) were detailed, thorough, easy to understand, and very informative. The included recommended mold remediation protocol was also easy to understand, and very detailed and specific, down to specifying exactly which products/ supplies, etc. should be used and what processes should be applied., with good instructions. Texas Mold Inspection Services was a TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE - particularly as compared to my experience just a year ago with hiring a mold inspection/ testing service in Boulder, CO, where my son had fallen horribly ill from a mold exposure in a nasty apartment complex. The report I received from that CO company (for the same charge as TMIS - $600) was minimal; it consisted of only a computer software generated generic form, with just a few blanks filled in, mold lab results also very skimpy and generic, a very vague conclusion, other than recommendation for a lot more testing (i.e., running up a lot more fees), and no remediation protocol. In stark contrast to that crummy CO company, in my experience with TEXAS MOLD INSPECTION SERVICES they demonstrated themselves to be a FIRST CLASS OPERATION ALL THE WAY. I am now working with a remediation company to have the corrective work performed, and these guys also think highly of TMIS. Bravo to a terrific company!

Two things impressed me the most: 1) Quality if the containment--I went in after the after the air clearance test passed, and EVERYTHING was covered, neatly taped, protective layer and plastic over the floor. 2) Cleanliness when done--the 50 year old framing looked like new boards!!
