About six months after Impact X merged with Momentum, I asked to put my membership on hold because…read moremy husband had a massive stroke and we weren't sure if he'd make it. I really wanted to keep going, but the medical bills were piling up and I just couldn't afford it. One of the co-owners at the time told me to focus on myself during such a tough time and that she wanted me to keep working out without worrying about the monthly payments. She even checked in on me weekly to see how I was doing and to make sure I was taking care of myself. It was an incredibly hard time, and it was so comforting to know someone actually cared about my well-being. I managed to take two classes online, which felt great--it was a nice way to do something for myself and forget about everything we were going through, at least for a moment. Then I got this email from someone at Impact X I've never even met: "Hello Monique, This is Callie from Impact X. I'm writing to let you know you haven't had an active paid membership with us since February. All the classes you've attended since March 1st have been unpaid. We aren't going to charge you for the back payments, but we do ask that you stop attending to be fair. I hope you understand. In good health, Callie" As far as I'm concerned, whoever the other co-owner is clearly didn't care about my situation and didn't even bother to ask why I had to pause my membership. All they cared about was getting my monthly payment. It feels like health and fitness aren't their top priority at all; they just care about getting people through the door and signed up.
