The canopies were very low, lots of broken and dead limbs, and we had a few trees that were so overgrown that they were against the house and roof. The initial walkthrough was with Chase Hartman, a Certified Arborist. We looked at every tree on my property and discussed what could be done to it to raise the canopy, thin it out, check for damage and disease, and make sure it's healthy and will continue to flourish. At the end of the walk, they were going to limb up and thin out six huge trees in my front yard, take down a pine and oak that had grown together and were way too close to my home, take down six dead Leyland Cyprus and two huge pine trees that if they fell, would crush my home. A week later, the crew arrived with two trucks, a bobcat loader, a chipper, and eight very experienced crew. They sized up the access to the property, spoke with my neighbors to ask to use their driveways to get to my backyard, and went to work. It was incredible to watch professionals practice their craft! They systematically worked on the two large pines in the backyard by climbing the tree and cutting limbs as they went up. Piling up the limbs to be pulled away by the bobcat to the chipped. Within two hours, both large pines were gone, and work started on the cypress, which they made quick work of. They arrived at eight AM and left at one-thirty PM. Professional from start to finish. They protected my yard, my neighbors' yards, and systematically, cleanly dropped ten trees and cleaned/limbed up six trees. From the first walkthrough to the final stump grinding a week after the tree work, excellent communications, great service, extremely professional and friendly. Beyond that, they cleaned up after themselves and had our property looking immaculate afterwards. The crew cleaned up after the work was completed so that there was no dust or wood chips on our roof (and our neighbor's roof since they had to access the neighbor's property to fully take down the tree). Anyone visiting us the next day would've never known that we just had a giant tree cut down. There was some oil spillage on our paved alley/driveway from a chainsaw that broke while cutting down the tree, and Northside provided us with a free power wash to take care of the problem. July, 2017. The guys from Gomez Tree Service in Atlanta did an excellent job! The owner came out a…read moreweek in advance to give an estimate for removing 2 hickory trees (the tree limbs were growing dangerously close to the deck/house and the squirrels were jumping onto the roof from the trees). The owner was knowledgeable and recommended that if I took out the 2 hickories, I should also remove the 35 foot tall poplar tree that was growing directly behind it, since the poplar had no limbs and was a weaker tree and would not withstand high storm winds once the limbs from the 2 hickories were no longer there to protect it. He also pointed out another poplar on my property that was dead and growing on an embankment and threatening to fall over. He quoted a fair/reasonable price. I got other estimates - one company said the job was too small, one company said they don't cut down trees taller than 30 feet tall that are within 10 feet of the house, one company quoted a price triple Gomez' price. While there were some hiccups with scheduling--he rescheduled on me twice, he called with enough notice that it did not impact my plans. On the day they arrived (3 days after the first scheduled date), they showed up bright and early, and the owner and his crew worked efficiently.
