Dave is AMAZING! We were in the market for our first pool table but I had no idea what questions to ask or what to look for. Dave made the purchasing process, delivery and install super easy and stress free. The table was a surprise late Christmas gift for my kids from their grandma so we tried to be stealth communicating with Dave so my teen and tween wouldn't find out. I reached out via email and Dave's response was super fast! He was very patient and kind as I asked silly "newbie" questions and inquired about the used table. After seeing his stellar Yelp reviews I decided to get the table sight unseen! All our communication was via email. Dave delivered and assembled the table today...he said it was in excellent condition and it is perfect!!! The table is absolutely beautiful and looks like it was made for the den it now lives in. I had no idea what went into assembling and leveling a pool table but let me tell you, Dave's work is impeccable!!!! The slate on this table was 3 pieces and weighed in total about 700 pounds, Dave made it look super easy setting this big boy up. It took Dave and his helper about 3 hours from start to finish. He took his time and wasn't rushed making sure the slate was even and seamless for the felt top. It was intriguing to watch him work, he really is an artist and master at what he does. Dave has an awesome personality and is super laid back. I plan on giving him all my future business and highly recommend him. The game of billiards has destroyed my naturally sweet disposition." - Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain) I love driving down the older parts of Chapman or Tustin Ave or Beach Blvd and seeing these random shops or restaurants that one would never find in a typical S. County or Irvine Co. strip center. The older parts of OC are where the interesting stuff usually lies. I drive by this shop all the time but never really noticed it until I saw it on my way to pick up a used mini pool table I was buying from a friend for a housewarming party I was having. Serendipity surfaced and I thought "I better stop in there and buy some chalk". On my way back, I stopped in (plenty of parking in this small center) and Rory the wife part of the owner team helped me. I never really checked out the cue sticks that were part of this table set but they were terrible. DK had some used cues, plus chalk, all for $10. A steal. Turns out, we live pretty much in the same area. They moved a bit farther away but sometimes life can be random and small. We joked about the sometimes insanity and inanity of our suburban neighborhood. NextDoor will definitely tell you how loony some of your neighbors are ;-) As another reviewer stated, these are good people just running an honest business. This review is long over due. I contacted DK Billiard Service and spoke with Dave about 4 years ago. I had purchased a beautiful pool table from an estate sale and needed it moved. Dave and his crew disassemble and transported the table to my home and assembled it on my second floor. Dave's service ensured the table was level and because the felt needed to be replaced they did that for a reasonable price. Fast forward to last week we decided we no longer needed the pool table and had our contractor start remodeling our home. I called Dave and I was pleasantly surprised when he remembered me as a client. Dave gave me a price to move the table to my Aunts in about two weeks. I let Dave know we're remodeling our home and asked if there was a cancellation we would appreciate it sooner. Dave responded immediately and said we would squeeze us to move the table in two days. Talk about customer service! Dave showed up promptly Saturday afternoon and was incredibly kind in dealing with the noise and dust all around him. Dave let me know the leather on the pool table pockets were pretty dry and warned me they might crack when he disassembled the table. Dave gave me reasonable price to replace them and I gave him the ok. He also said there were a couple of white marks on the black felt which I said was fine. After Dave delivered the table to my aunt and uncles home, Dave sent me a text with a picture of my uncle enjoying the table. Dave stated that he was able to flip the felt and it looked brand new. I originally went to Dk to buy a table, their staff guided me in making a used table purchase which I was very happy with. They were very knowledgable with how to select the right table. They made themselves available to answer my questions about certain selections and what to look out for. I had Dave (owner) disassemble the 15yr old American made Brunswick I purchased and relocate it to Orange where he and his professional team helped select the correct room to place the table in and reassembled the table in a timely professionally manner. They used bees wax to melt the slates together and centered the table in the oddly shaped room so that there was enough spacing on each side. Dave was able to save the high end felt that came with the table and wrapped it so the pockets looked even better than before. Very professional, highly recommended! read more

I needed my pool table moved so I could do my flooring and upon replacing the table they put new felt down on the slate and bumpers. They also filled some imperfections in the slate and leveled the table. Dave went above and beyond by rethreading the bolts that hold the rails together to ensure the table is nice and tight now. My table is 40 years old and now looks brand new. Another important factor to the service from DK Billiard was the extra time Dave took to explain things and answer all of the detailed questions that I had. His knowledge of pool tables is well displayed by him and his crews ability to swiftly and safely dismantle and move the table. This will be a short and sweet review. I had to have a pool table broken down at the last minute. I originally set up an appointment, but had to cancel for personal reasons. I didn't think I was going to be able to have it broken down that day. David was flexible and even took time when he was off work to reschedule with me that same night. When he came over to break down the table, he was professional and explained how it all worked. Even though I did have people helping me with the loading, he helped as well. My truck bed gate broke at the last minute and we had to lift everything over the side to get it into the bed. Thank you SO much David for everything last night!
