I didn't order food--I could do just as well eating something off the sidewalk, I thought. Inspired by the good reviews here, I went back this week. What a change! New wood paneling on the walls, a very clean atmosphere overall with lots of natural light. And good craft beers. I ordered the chicken-bacon-ranch salad and was impressed. Lettuce was fresh and finely cut, meat was tender and generously portioned, with enough bacon to provide an accent but not dominate the salad. Salads at small bar-and-grill operations are sometimes a dicey bet, but Mio Saloon nailed it. Don't get me wrong--this place hasn't been yuppified. It's still a down to earth small town bar catering to a biker clientele. It also seems to be a spot where locals just meet to have lunch and chat, dragging the kids along. The vibe might be different at night. I get up to Mio a few times a year, and I plan to find out next time I do.

We had the waiter take our order and someone else brought condiments which are dirty and the onion in the dish looked old and taken off a sandwich. There are several workers here or visitors not sure but they are around. I ordered a philly sandwich which was very salty it did have the green peppers with it but no onions. I ate the toppings with half the grits and left the rest. My husband ordered the hoagie sandwich with hash browns. His comment was "a lot of bread and minimal filling" with "luke warm" hash browns that were more spongy than crispy. It's hard to go wrong with breakfast, but somehow Lazy Toaster has missed the mark. The concept is fun, the menu is great, yet the recipes and preparation could use some major improvements. The tab ($41 for two) was not bad, but was high for the quality. We liked the decor yet felt the cleanliness was lacking (sticky floors and no paper towels in the bathroom).
