The food was fast and fresh! The wings are some of the best we've had, and the service was so great! The waitress had a new refill waiting before I even realized I needed one. 5/5!

    The "CLB"
    R L.

Affectionately known to the locals as the "CLB", this vacation property community bar is worth incorporating into your northern Michigan travel plans. Clean and friendly environment with beer and food options to accommodate everyone, while still maintaining its rustic bar roots. The smoked brisket nachos and pretzel cheese bites with a side of CLB Copper Ale are all must-tries! More healthy are keto pizza and a traverse city salad, and then everything in between. Relaxing place with friendly staff that is welcoming to both newcomers and long timers. And they now take Apple Pay!

So that is my reason for only 4 stars. We went there in January of this year for breakfast. My wife had a bacon and cheese omelette, I had a sausage and cheese omelette, both come with toast and hash browns. I also had a side of sausage gravy. I had coffee, my wife had a soda. The bill was $42, we left a $7 tip which brought our total to $49 for breakfast. They charge a 3% fee for debit or credit cards, that takes you to $50 for breakfast. I understand that food prices have been going up, along with the egg shortage due to the bird flu. However, the egg shortage is over, but the prices at Mac's haven't come down. During the shortage, eggs were $6 - $8 a dozen or more depending where you shopped. Today I can buy a case of 60 gage free large eggs at Wal Mart for $9.56, that's about $.016 per egg. The omelettes at Mac's are made with 3 eggs. So that's $0.48 for a 3 egg omelette plus the sausage and cheese. For $9.56, I can make 20-3 egg omelettes. Also, I'm sure restaurants pay less as they are buying their supplies in bulk.

Now to the Wisconsin bbq chicken sandwich. in my opinion, dunking a chicken breast in bbq sauce, and calling it a day to me is lazy, I think that if your gonna make a bbq chicken sandwich I rather wish it be smoked and the lightly using bbq sauce not over saturating it. The fries were crunchy and delicious and right amount of salt. The cheese curds were nice and delicious with the marinara. Plus on this sandwich I'd like lettuce, tomato, pickles and instead of provolone give me Swiss. Overall I liked my meal I just make these improvements to the sandwich and it be a solid 10/10 but this over all is like a 7/10 or in this yelp reviews case a 3 out of 5.

We made a reservation for 13 on a Saturday and they were ready and waiting for us. The table was prepared and two servers greeted us. The restaurant, located inside of the Springbrook Inn, is a bit difficult to describe. Comfortable with some kitsch, a bit of an upscale family restaurant with a reasonable wine list (also reasonable pricing). The menu is not extensive but hits all of the main American items: steak, seafood, pasta, soup and salad. All of the mains were served with mixed vegetables (zucchini, onion, pepper or sans pepper for me as requested) and a potato (which included rice in the category). We did have two vegetarians in the group and the grill was not very vegetarian friendly. They did offer a stuffed red pepper, which luckily both ordered and enjoyed. The rest of the group had a large variety: cajun pasta, steaks, shrimp, perch and my order of ribs. The cajun pasta had a good flavor and was not at all spicy (this could be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences). The only complaint was that only a lone shrimp was found in the dish (the menu did say shrimp, which while suggesting a plural, was not). Overall everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the ribs as was a bit disappointed. The meat was tender but severely over sauced. I also found the sauce to be average. I did really like the sauteed veggies. I would not agree with the other reviews that the food is outstanding. I felt it was good to above average, depending on the item. The service was five stars. Both servers were friendly and engaging, refilling promptly and were responsive in their check ins. My four stars are based on an overall good experience and the service certainly orchestrated this.

The day came when we finally gave this place a shot, and let me tell you what... The joke was on us... The initial dining experience was typical of a local dive bar, however it wasn't until our food arrived that my Hanes X-temp, low cut ankle socks were blown right off. It was like when you first discover the Nickelback and Creed songs that never got radio play... You think to yourself "Holy cow how is everyone hating on these bands?" That was the exact feeling I got at Coco Cabana's in West Branch Michigan. "Maybe we've always poked fun at this joint because deep down we knew we would end up liking it..." Anyway, I got the All American club grinder which was top notch. The 6-1/2" sandwich was a generous portion. Honestly I could've done without the fries, but I'm glad I got them because they were fried to perfection. The house made bread was excellent. I read a review some clown left about the grinder having "too much bread." Hey buddy if you're reading this, go eat an Uncrustable. It's a friggen submarine sandwich, it comes on a loaf of bread... That's like ordering tomato soup and complaining about it tasting like tomatoes. Overall, I was very pleased with our dining experience and will definitely be returning soon.
