We walked into ruff cuts and Buttercup was happily exploring and walking around while I talked to the groomer. Less than 2 hours later I get the call that she is ready and I picked her up. This is easily the best hair cut my dog has ever had and she's in a good mood to boot! The pricing is actually very reasonable. For a cavalier mix it was only $49 which is VERY competitive with the larger pet chains. Of course according to their website, grooming prices vary by breed so make sure to ask. I'll happily pay that for the quality of service we got today. We will definitely be returning for all of my dogs grooming needs!

As a result, when I moved to Manchester I was understandably concerned about finding a new groomer for him. He's only had positive experiences getting groomed and it is important to me that it stays that way, it feels like a miracle to have a dog that doesn't have anxiety about the vet, the groomer or even being boarded! Because of that I didn't want to go to the local petco because the Yelp reviews seem to indicate that a lot of the dogs who go there end up with groomer anxiety afterwards. So even though most of my neighbors go to petco I decided to look for a small local business because in my experience they tend to be more careful with their clients. I ultimately decided to go with Shampoodles LLC (1) because of the Yelp reviews and (2) because the owner has 15yrs of experience as a groomer and a dog trainer. I am so glad that I chose Shampoodles. The lobby is clean and pleasant and the groomer Samantha was ready for Blue the minute we walked in the door. I appreciate how careful they are with their scheduling, she greeted us by name without me even introducing us. Samantha took the time to gain clarity about what I wanted, and she asked lots of questions about his previous experiences being groomed and what his needs were. I felt very comfortable leaving Blue there. She told me that he would be ready in two hours and he was ready to go after an hour and 45 minutes. As another yelper mentioned they don't seem to crate the dogs who get along with other animals and I appreciated that because Blue is very social. When I picked him up not only did he look amazing (she followed my instructions to a "T"), but he smelled great and seemed incredibly happy. To top it all off, their prices are so affordable! Overall my first experience with Shampoodles was excellent and I will absolutely be going back and using Samantha again.

Amanda asked what I wanted done, then actually pulled up pictures online to confirm it was the look I was seeking for my long haired chihuahua. I'm sure we've all been there, when you ask for a trim (for yourself) and get way too much hair cut off. Well, she was making sure I knew what I was asking for for my pup as well, so that I wasn't shocked when she did what I thought I wanted and picked her up a little while later. My pup can be nervous and get anxious but Amanda was able to handle her and groom her so that she was looking amazing with her new cut, and smelling even better when I arrived to pick her up! They took my dog right away and started cuddling and loving on him, he was comfortable from the start! They are plenty of vet options around, but if your looking for a vet, I wouldn't say the Banfield vet inside the store is a bad option, and is convenient if you are already there getting other pet needs. They have a cat adoption center and on some weekend days they bring in dogs from a local shelter. As much as I like a family owners small business pet store similar to a pet supplies plus, a Petsmart has a much better selection and variety. More so than a Petco. Their selection of fish in my experience is ok, if that's was you are looking for, a store like aquatic wildlife is better. I've had good experience at Petsmart finding help if I had a question. The line at checkout can be hit or miss. Usually they try to call a manager or another representative if the line is getting too long. The store opened in 2002 and the appearance inside still looks good, but there are signs of aging.
