Addressed it with the manager early on and she said it would be fixed. Was never fixed! The food was terrible and I almost damaged my teeth on a giant bone in the steak served. Addressed it with the manager again and all she could say was, "there do be bones in meat". Told her that if they had a more thorough process that all of this could have been avoided. On top of that another guest found a giant piece of plastic in their mashed potatoes. The managers response was that the potatoes come in a plastic bag and that's why it was found in the food. She took zero responsibility and also had no customer service skills. She could have apologized for the bone in my steak or the plastic bag cutting in the mashed potatoes but she made a choice to be combative rather than show any sort of remorse. @the Olana - the manager on duty during this event was the Latina with short bleach blonde fried hair w split ends. Music is a big deal for my wife and I and we had a 4hr dance floor, so we were extremely picky when selecting a DJ. We turned down all three DJ's we met at our wedding venue vendor day, but when we met Kaivan we immediately knew he'd be the perfect fit for us on the biggest day of our life. Kaivan has an unbelievably in-depth music knowledge. He's incredibly talented at mixing old beloved genres with current music and he has a an impeccable feel for the dance floor and for timing what to play next. He also allows his clients to truly share their musical tastes with him, so he's consistently playing what you want. Kaivan creates joint Spotify and SoundCloud (if preferred) playlists so you can continuously add songs and show Kaivan the style of music you truly love. But above all else, Kaivan is just the nicest and most genuine guy. For us, it was extremely important to have someone we felt comfortable with and trusted to run our entire operation. It was our wedding, so he actually MC'd the entire thing, as well as provided the equipment for the ceremony, speeches, etc.. but regardless of the event Kaivan overcommunicates with you and will make sure you are feeling taken care of. While it feels like I'm gushing, you'll feel the same way after working with him. If he's available, I'd book right away.

The venue is a little out of the way, even if you live in Denton county, but totally worth the trek. A stately manor out in the country is an idyllic place for a dream wedding. Of course all that space means there's plenty of parking too. Rain was headed our way just as the event started so we got to experience a partially outdoor, but mostly indoor ceremony. Either way would have been nice, although I did prefer sitting inside where we didn't have to contend with the wind and heat. Appetizers and cocktails followed which allowed the guests to mingle while the wedding party had their photos taken. They also had a photo booth set up with props available for guests to contribute their own playful pics. The point that it stopped being a 5 star experience was at dinner. They served Cajun cuisine buffet style, and I have to say that the food looked and sounded better than it tasted. If I had to rate the meal alone I'd give it 3 stars. It was also served late which caused all subsequent activities to be behind schedule. The DJ was lively and kept everyone entertained throughout the evening. Not only did he play good, danceable music, he hosted a couple of fun games involving the happy couple and all the guests. I would definitely recommend Milestone Mansion for anyone's upcoming nuptials. Overall, it was an enjoyable, memorable occasion in a beautiful setting.

The staff were attentive and kind throughout my time there. This venue is a beautiful choice for a wedding and reception.

Last night was one of the most disappointing live music experiences I can remember paying for…read more I came to Revel in Frisco specifically to see Emerald City--a band that has been known in Dallas for years for excellence: strong vocals, tight musicianship, and some of the best horn players around. That reputation is the only reason my group drove from Dallas to Frisco and paid $50 per person for a VIP table of seven ($350 total). Unfortunately, what we experienced was embarrassing--both for the venue and for a band that once set a very high standard. To start, the venue experience itself was misleading. I had never been to Revel before and wrongly assumed that a $350 VIP table meant an upscale music venue. It is not. Revel is essentially a large, crowded bar with TVs everywhere, wooden floors and tables, and a packed layout that made it difficult to even move once seated. Think Road House--minus the cage. Despite calling ahead and explaining that we had dinner reservations and were coming only for Emerald City (not the dueling pianos that started at 5:30), we were met with confusion about start times and warnings that our table might not be held. To their credit, the staff did hold the table until 8:30 as promised, but we arrived to a tightly packed VIP section with little room and no clear service. The dueling pianos played until around 8:45 and were, frankly, unimpressive. My guests were already questioning why we had driven all this way--but I reassured them that Emerald City would make it worth it. They did not. Emerald City didn't begin playing until after 9:30, and from the very first song it was clear something was seriously wrong. The sound mix was atrocious. The bass and drums were so loud they drowned out everything else. The horn section--arguably one of Emerald City's strongest calling cards--was almost completely inaudible. The singers were forced to scream just to be heard, and even then the vocals were strained, off, and painful to listen to. This wasn't a "bad night" or a minor technical issue. This was a full set that never recovered. I kept expecting them to adjust, recalibrate, or find their footing--but it never happened. Service only added to the frustration. We could not find our server most of the night and had to track down another staff member just to order and eventually close out our tab. Ultimately, we left during Emerald City's set because we simply couldn't justify staying any longer. As we stood outside regrouping and laughing in disbelief at how bad the experience was, a large number of people poured out of the venue--shaking their heads, visibly frustrated, clearly leaving early as well. We weren't alone. I haven't seen Emerald City perform in a few years, but based on last night, I would not intentionally go see them again. Whatever made them great in the past was not present here--whether due to sound management, venue limitations, or the performance itself. This was a complete waste of time, money, and expectations--for me and my guests. I truly hope both the venue and the band take this feedback seriously, because what happened last night should never happen at this level of pricing or reputation.

A moment of serendipity had us check out The Country Abbey for our father's funeral. We wanted the…read morefuneral in Justin and the church next door could not accommodate us on the date we needed. So we walked over to The Country Abbey on a Sunday afternoon. The door was unlocked and we walked in and met Naomi. We talked to her for a moment and immediately booked the venue for the following Friday. This was our first funeral but not our first event to plan, and I have to say Naomi was quite possibly the most accommodating vendor with which I have had the pleasure to work. As an Interior Designer, I asked to rearrange some furniture and she made it happen. We asked for extension cords, items to help with the AV equipment, late meetings at the Abbey the night before to drop off cases of beverages and additional items we needed for the funeral service, and Naomi could not have been nicer. She never said "no". Who meets you at 10 p.m. to unlock the doors so your event the next morning will go smoothly? Naomi! Regarding the space, the "chapel" is just the right size - not too small and not so cavernous that it would look empty if the head-count was low. The backdrop is clean and uncluttered with no religious imagery or symbolism. The reception space was completely set up with the items we requested when we arrived 2 hours early for our event. Everything was clean and we lacked for nothing. Saying goodbye to our father was hard enough and we didn't need any more stress preparing for his funeral. There are dozens of things that have to be done that you might not think of, and Naomi made it virtually stress-free. Any time I need a venue in Justin, it will be The Country Abbey because it was such a positive experience.

Sarah (the coordinator) contacted me and worked with me to reschedule our wedding date for Oct/2020. It was such a stressful time for me but Sarah made it so much easier. Any time I had a question, concern or anxiety, I could always email, call or pop in for a visit to the Abbey and she always eased my fears. She offered so many ideas when I was unsure of how to do things and she and her team decorated the Abbey so beautifully for our wedding. I wanted a simple, clean and rustic look and she put it together perfectly! Our ceremony went off without a hitch because Sarah made sure everyone knew what they were supposed to do and say. I couldn't have pulled off this wedding without Sarah and her amazing abilities. She treated me like I was her only client even during the pandemic and when there were many other brides dealing with the same thing I was. Also the price for the venue was extremely reasonable and the cheapest I found anywhere! I highly recommend the country Abbey for your wedding, it was everything I had hoped for and more! Granted, our photographer was amazing, the all white backdrop added to the charm! They also have couches and other back drops if anyone needs it. Lumen Room Denton I recently had a photo shoot for my…read moredaughter's senior/graduation photos. We hired an independent photographer and she set up the studio and she chose The Lumen Room in Denton. We were in the 'White' area. I did not get a chance to see the 'Lifestyle' area but it did look slightly smaller. I personally have extensive experience shooting video but, in this case, I happy to let my wife and daughter control this photo shoot. I was really blown away with the uniqueness of the space. The Lumen Room Denton, is housed in a former 4 bay mechanic shop/gas station. Frankly, super unique in my opinion. Obviously, the space has been completely renovated to be an open space that can accommodate photo shoots or almost anything you might need it for like a meeting or even a birthday party. For this example, the photographer needs light, space and a few backgrounds choices and The Lumen Room provided almost everything a good photo studio needs. First, the amount of space the studio has was fairly expansive for a single person photo shoot like 25x 25. And, the space even provides a few different styles of chairs and sofas to use as props or for client lounging. Second, background choices really facilitate a photographer's job to provide some variety of images. The Lumen Room provides several roll around 8x8 flat wall backdrops. White, black and colored flats can give some flexibility in shooting and I was impressed to see these as a standard included with the space. The photographer used the natural light that was available coming through frosted glass garage doors on one side and high north facing sky lights on the other. I stood by and watched the photographer work. I was impressed with the overall experience because my wife and I were able to sit and watch everything happen in air conditioned comfort. I thought about the possibilities of using this space to shoot interviews or for professional sound recordings but with the proximity to a busy street, I can only recommend The Lumen Room in Denton as photo studio or perhaps a video insert studio. Check it out and you might find that The Lumen Room could work perfectly for corporate or freelance photographers in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton area. I work in Denton and I am really glad I was introduced to this space. The photographer told me there are a few in Fort Worth and in Dallas. Happy shooting!

And the only reason I didn't use them was another venue unexpectedly donated their venue to us at no charge... (Good to have connections!) Hard to beat a free venue... Kim was professional, personable, flexible, and extremely helpful in trying to meet my every need. We're a 501(c)3 and every dollar counts in our effort to fund local scholarships, and Kim took that guidance to the bank. She matched what I needed for per-meal price (beyond what any other venue could do), the price for the venue was VERY reasonable, and she was very timely in getting back to me after working out our deal with her manager. I called a lot of venues and talked to a lot of people. I'd looked into almost 30 venues for this event. Most venues are not flexible and didn't seem to care if they can't accommodate you. That's too expensive for you? Aw, sorry, good luck! *click* Others never even called me back. Not the case with Kim and Buffalo Valley. She really went the extra mile to make it work. It was a breath of fresh air working with her. I truly can't say enough good things about my experience. I highly recommend Buffalo Valley for your event.
