Kim was professional, personable, flexible, and extremely helpful in trying to meet my every need. We're a 501(c)3 and every dollar counts in our effort to fund local scholarships, and Kim took that guidance to the bank. She matched what I needed for per-meal price (beyond what any other venue could do), the price for the venue was VERY reasonable, and she was very timely in getting back to me after working out our deal with her manager. I called a lot of venues and talked to a lot of people. I'd looked into almost 30 venues for this event. Most venues are not flexible and didn't seem to care if they can't accommodate you. That's too expensive for you? Aw, sorry, good luck! *click* Others never even called me back. Not the case with Kim and Buffalo Valley. She really went the extra mile to make it work. It was a breath of fresh air working with her. I truly can't say enough good things about my experience. I highly recommend Buffalo Valley for your event. I toured the place and learned of it's history, which is pretty interesting. The place was built during the Great Depression as part of the National Youth Administration. Over 300 TWU students participated in its building and creation, even making the stained glass windows that adorn this architectural piece. It was named one of Texas' most outstanding architectural achievements. Ironically it was even designed by a Denton resident who is also a nationally recognized architect, O'Neil Ford. Now you ready for the coolest face? This place was dedicated and opened on November 1, 1939 by none other than First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, right here in Denton, Texas!

We chose the vendor package, which included the in-house photographer, and DJ among other things. While the convenience was appealing, several issues occurred throughout the day. To start, our centerpieces only covered 8 of the 10 tables. This may have been an oversight on my part, so I'm not placing blame on the venue for that. The ceremony itself was beautiful, but there was an issue with the music for my entrance. I chose the same song for both my bridesmaids and myself because there was a specific part of the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to. I had previously asked the wedding planner if the music could be looped if timing ran long, and she assured me it could. However, while waiting in the bridal suite with my dad, I heard the part of the song I was supposed to walk into come and go. I was later told that my niece and nephews took longer walking down the aisle. I completely understand that kids will be kids, but this was something we had discussed beforehand to prevent exactly this situation. Our photographer did a good job overall, though we are still waiting on the final photos. However, he forgot about the "first touch" moment I had planned with my husband until one of my bridesmaids reminded him. At the reception, there were multiple issues with the DJ. He switched the entrance songs for my husband, myself, and the bridal party. We used the provided app to carefully create our playlist, but it seemed like it was not followed closely. He also did not fade out the songs for our first dance or for my father-daughter dance as requested. Once open dancing started, he began playing songs that were not on our playlist and that many of our guests did not recognize. Overall, he seemed unprepared. As for the wedding planner, she was helpful during the planning process but did not seem organized on the actual wedding day. We had arranged for a coffee cart during cocktail hour. When the barista finished for the evening, he prepared a bag with coffee items for my husband and me for the next day and said he would give it to the wedding planner. However, the wedding planner left once dancing began. When we were leaving, we remembered the coffee and asked my mom to retrieve it, but she couldn't find the coordinator to ask about it. If one or two small things had gone wrong, it would have been easier to overlook. But the number of mistakes throughout the day left a very disappointing impression for both my husband and me. If you are looking strictly for a beautiful venue, Aristide is stunning. However, based on our experience, I would not recommend purchasing the vendor package, as we did not feel that our plans were executed with the attention to detail we expected.

It was also served late which caused the subsequent activities to be behind schedule. The DJ was lively and kept everyone entertained throughout the evening. Not only did he play good, danceable music, he hosted a couple of fun games involving the happy couple and all the guests. I would definitely recommend Milestone Mansion for anyone's upcoming nuptials. Overall, it was an enjoyable, memorable occasion in a beautiful setting.

Please review below: I contacted Caroline on August 29 at 10:58 to gain access to the lodging. She informed me of the entry gate code and told me to refer to the document details for the house code. The groundskeepers were still working at the rear of the house as well as at the venue. I was unable to access or utilize the garage space for storing event supplies, necessitating the transport of supplies into the house. The maintenance crew indicated that all of their supplies were present but could not be utilized. I sent Caroline photographs depicting the damage in the basement refrigerator and the old items that had been left behind. There was no toilet paper available in the restrooms. At 5 PM, I texted Caroline to inform her that the showers in the two restrooms were not functioning. Our guests were informed by your maintenance crew that the lodging had not been booked or used for some time. This situation caused an inconvenience that delayed our rehearsal by 30 minutes, as we had only 1.5 hours to rehearse and unpack the ceremony supplies. On August 30, as I was preparing food, I noticed that the kitchen sink was draining slowly and that the ceiling light above the sink was leaking because of the rain. Additionally, the garbage disposal was not functioning. As I was loading my car with supplies to leave the lodging, I found that the gate was stuck. I called Caroline to notify her of the issue. Ultimately, I had to climb over the gate to gain access at the entryway and walk back to my car in the rain. I was informed that you were upset about the grass before what was an extremely stressful day before the wedding ceremony. There was a lack of empathy in waiting until the event concluded or having a side discussion about it. During our conversation 30 days prior, I inquired whether we could bring the golf cart. I was assured that we could, and no guidance or policy was provided. Furthermore, I have never heard of a golf cart damaging grass. The venue's ceiling was leaking at what we refer to as the altar. Considering all of these factors, it is reasonable to conclude that you did not adequately check the lodging to ensure it met the standards necessary for guests to experience and enjoy quality family time. We were also advised that we could check in at midnight on August 29, while we had guests sleeping in their rentals and spread throughout the home. Caroline is a kind person who genuinely tries her best. However, I would not recommend Red Barn to anyone. Lodging should never be offered if it has not been properly prepared and thoroughly checked before guests arrive. Furthermore, I am requesting the complete reimbursement of my deposits for the venue and accommodation, as well as a reduction in the cost of this experience. Thank you
