I've been at a regular in this salon now. But the last two times my nail tech was Bella. She is rough doing my nails. She yanks on my hands when she needs them and pushes them away when she's done. I noticed that she works fast and not in a good way but like she's in a hurry. She is impatient and doesn't acknowledge what my inspo pic was. I was looking thru the nail colors and she just stood right to my face. I didn't even care to acknowledge she was right next to me. She also left my middle finger nail slanted. Horrible service and she left some kind of nail polish or something on the other nail
Called and made an appointment for a pedicure and manicure (both gel) Walked in 10 minutes later and got a fantastic pedicure, with massage and a manicure with gel for $109 including ($15 tip) Nice clean salon, a ton of polishes, they are fast and effective. Did a beautiful job! Would definitely return.
I've given this location two chances in the past week, and both times left disappointed. I came in for a simple manicure, only to be told they "didn't have time" and asked me to return at 6pm--even though the salon was far from busy. When I asked about making an appointment for 6pm to avoid this problem, I was told they don't take appointments and only accept walk-ins. Translation: walk in, get turned away, and try again later like it's some kind of nail salon lottery. You're expected to keep coming back at their convenience, with no guarantee you'll actually be helped. The lack of organization and courtesy is frustrating, especially when there are plenty of other nail salons that respect their customers' time. If you enjoy wasting your afternoon and testing your patience, this is the place for you. If you prefer actual customer service, maybe go somewhere that actually wants customers.
I found DJ Nails on Yelp. I made an appointment for Gel-X with Katie. Katie is amazing. She is talented, honest, and knowledgeable about nails which I appreciate. This is my second appointment with Katie. She is super friendly, and her vibe is really welcoming. She must be the manager because she knew everyone (from clients and staff) and she answered the phone while doing my nails. She never got distracted and got me in & out within 1 hour. She is a multitasker with a great memory. You get 5% off if you pay in cash so that's what I did. I'll be back again, Katie. Thank you!
Ive been coming here for the past 4 years or even more and recommend this place to everyone. Katie is the best and always does my nails perfectly I love her first off the environment and customer service are the best and I always feel super welcome the music choice is also a plus I love it here! Another thing my nails always last me so long when I come here like a month and more definitely will continue to keep coming here.
I walked into this nail salon and immediately felt unwelcome. As soon as I walked in, the woman who appeared to be the manager was on the phone. I said hello, and she completely ignored me and even rolled her eyes without acknowledging me or greeting me back. When she got off the phone, she told me there would be a long wait, but she said it with a rude attitude. I politely asked how long the wait would be, and she said about an hour. I told her that was fine and started to sit down. Before I could even sit, she came up to me in a very rude tone and repeated that there was a long wait and that they had appointments ahead of me. She also told me she didn't want me asking why it was taking so long since she already told me other customers were ahead of me. I reassured her that it was okay. She continued repeating herself in a rude manner, which made me uncomfortable. I finally asked if she wanted me to wait or leave because I was confused. She responded by saying it was up to me and that she was only telling me so I wouldn't complain later. The entire interaction felt very unprofessional and unwelcoming. I understand businesses get busy, but there is no reason to treat customers this way. Customer service and basic courtesy go a long way, and unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing.
A friend who was visiting from out of town needed her nails done and went here, she spoke so highly of it that I had to try it for myself. So I made an appointment and saw the same person she did. I had an appointment with Kiera and she did an amazing job! I was impressed with her skills for creating designs and getting my almond shape just right without cutting my finger with the nail file like some people do. She was on time and took her time with my nails even though walk-ins were starting to fill the front of the salon as it was the weekend before Valentine's Day. I'd highly recommend her, she won't disappoint.
$110 dollars later. They gave me a 5% discount for using cash so it ended up being $105. Do I think she did a great job? YES!!! Was it worth the money, NO. They charge $5 for each design. In this economy this pricing is ridiculous. Besides the pricing, the workers were super nice and they have parking in the back. I was okay with the price because she had already put the nails on before telling me the price and I really wanted the design ! These are also Gel X!
Very rude manicurist, who audibly made fun of me. I made the manager/ receptionist aware but she said they were just talking with each other- the pedicurist and manicurist, however, were not talking. I paid and tipped 20 percent on a bad manicure and a rude technician. So rude, she didn't even come up to get her tip - I had to Venmo it in a separate payment to the woman who did my pedicure. Will not come back here, as there are much better places in the neighborhood who are nice and provide better nail service and have a cleaner environment!

This is my go to nail place. I've tried others and they don't compare to this one. All of the techs are experienced and do a great job. They recently remodeled and have fresh wallpaper, more colors, and free drinks. Their nail art is sub par and their pedicures are excellent. Come in on a Sunday or during the week for less people. The parking does suck! Park on the street. read more

I have been coming here for Gel-pedicure and Gel-X nails for a couple of years every 2-3 weeks and never had a problem other than spending way too much money. In June I noticed something on my toe and asked the pedicurist what she thought it was and she said oh you probably bumped it looks like a bruise. 3 weeks later I went back for another pedicure this time it was bigger. I told the pedicurist that it looked like fungus. She said no you probably bumped yourself. I took a photo of it and sent it to my dr. and sure enough I had fungus on my toe. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH FUNGUS!!! I immediately took off my Gel pedicure and Gel-X nails that I paid $130 not including tip and started to research how to treat my nails plus my Dr. prescribed a medication. Here I am a month and 1/2 later and it's just now looking a tiny bit better. So gross and disgusting. With the prices you charge I would expect that the instruments would be cleaned and sanitized after every customer. I will never be coming back here again. I recently moved from seattle and lost my nail tech. I love Halloween and have always done my nails for Halloween. I had an appointment at 5 and I called to check with me. Surprisingly, on Thursday they were really busy and even though they were running late they still kept tabs on me. I got gel x and I never gotten them before. The lady who put them on was very meticulous and made sure they were the length and shape I wanted. I got a design on each nail and a majority of it was hand painted. The girl who drew the designed tried her best to imitate the photos and took her time. Although some of the line work could be neater they did a pretty good job. The total overall was $102, a little pricy for me so that's why I took off one star. But overall I had a great service and walked away with cute Halloween nails. read more

Update: 2nd time getting my nails done at DJ Nails! I went on December 22, 2023 to get gel extensions with a custom design. I have a back injury that requires a walker at times which they let me bring inside but I left it in the waiting area with my boyfriend. I was greeted by who I assume is the manager, asked for my appointment information then directed too a spa chair close by. They offered me help to get into the spa chair, put on a liner and started the water, asked if the temp was just right 2x, given a pillow to place my hand and both ladies got too work. They were efficient and I didn't make conversation this time since I was enjoying the massage chair and foot spa. They're always very careful with my nail shape and cuticles, I never have any issues with them being too rough or nicking my skin. After the pedi/mani was done I was asked which nail service I would like, I asked for gel extension and showed them the photos of I wanted, they gave me the price and then proceeded too bring a box of gel nails to show me the shape asking if it was too my liking then she started fitting them too my nails, asked if they looked like the right size/shape for each nail/hand. The lady doing my pedicure was finishing up with a lotion massage, asked if I wanted the same or different polish/design. I always choose a custom design and they always do a great job matching my custom designs from pictures. read more

All the flowers deserve to be given to Katie. I am very particular with my gel x manicure. I love gel x for the thinness of it and the fact that I feel my nails don't get as damaged. I had come to DJ before and this was the case. the thinness of the gel x glue was just right. I didnt feel as if I had fake nails they felt like my own. However on my visit prior to Katie, my gel x was not the same as my previous experiences. I was disappointed. However, DJ nails rectified the situation and reached out to me to provide a more satisfying experience. Katie took her time with me. She made sure that the thickness and length of my short gel x was to my liking. She made sure all the nails were the same size with each other and the same size as the other hand. I appreciate the service she provided and that the salon provided to meet my expectation. I really do like this salon and I am glad I discovered it. I can't wait to try different nail art as now I know the thickness and shape is to my liking. I hope to come back and be able to provide more reviews of the work that is done. read more

This was my first time going here. I had checked out the pictures on Yelp and checked there IG page and loved their work. Every picture I saw the nails looked great. I got a new acrylic set and pedicure done. I loved my nails and my toes! They looked great! I woke up this morning and I'm not sure what happened but they didn't last 24hrs. I have one glitter nail on each hand and the both are messed up. I'm not sure if it was the process but I'm not happy. read more

I asked for a full acrylic set, pink powder, chrome tips, & a long almond shape. My total was $80! Drove 30 miles to come here! Worth it! Lindsey is such a perfectionist and very kind, she did better than the photo I showed her! I had at appointment with Ashley at 4pm, waited 20 mins and it wasn't until I asked when my appointment would be ready that they said another 20 minutes. I didn't want to wait another 20 to 30 minutes so I was given to Bella. She only spent a total of 20 minutes on my pedicure and rushed the job. My nails are unevenly cut and the paint job is sloppy. She also had no artistry skill, my nails were cut very unevenly, too short, and not perfectly squared. Lots of the corners are sharp which dig into the sides of my toes. I wanted a simple gel pedicure and the quality is like something I could've done at home. I was excited to try this new place as it's near my work. Maybe I went on an off day, but I would probably only go back and go to the nail techs that are mentioned to have good quality work. For a simple gel pedicure with no add on's it was $51 including tip, the price is not worth the quality of service. read more

I just wanted to say how grateful I am for Olivia and Sophia at DJ nails. I've had such bad luck, with this nail journey in DTLA I thought I'd go to Pasadena cause it's cheap. Well I finally found a place where the techs were attentive and treated me like an individual - didn't rush - and had the skill - look at this wonderful nail job. Only thing it was $104 for gel toes and dip - I've paid less but really after what I've been thru... their service is priceless. The music was calming the water was hot! The dip thing. Never had that done but it left my nails looking so much more natural. I'm never going back to acrylic. I don't know what the process is like to take them off and I'm hoping it won't be ripping, filing and poking like I've had in the past. Plus they used clean tools - I'm happy. So happy. read more

I absolutely adore this place! Some of the nicest and more sincere people I've ever met work here. Their talent is incredible when it comes to nail art and I've never left the salon disappointed! There's not a single bad nail technician here, and they're all so patient and professional. I've been coming here for over a decade, and they do nothing but strive to make their business better! Im not usually one to write reviews but this is hands down the best nail place for gel x nails. All the techs are great but I always go to Helen now, she's a perfectionist and shes so fast. They always look better than I imagine. I moved to Woodland Hills but I still wait to come here when I visit my mom in Pasadena. They always last 3+ weeks, I could go longer if the growth didn't show. These are the last 2 sets I got done and they make me feel like a queeeen. read more

I absolutely LOVED coming here! This was my first time coming to DJ Nails and I'm definitely coming back! I found them on Instagram and was able to get my nails done the same day. I wanted a complicated nail design for my birthday and they were able to achieve it from the inspo pictures I brought in. I also love the square shape, it's perfect as well as the length I wanted. All the staff were really nice and intrigued by the nail art I was getting. I appreciate the nail tech I had, she paid attention to detail and was super sweet. I rarely get my nails done but I know this will now be my go-to place for sure! read more

Where do I start? I have been coming to DJ nails for 3 years now faithfully, and here's why: consistency, flexibility, professionalism, work product. These girls (All of them) are consistent with their work, I don't have to ask for any specific person to do my services, because they are all great! I come in with some of the most complicated design request sometimes and they get the job down every single time. I never come in wondering what I'm going to leave with because whatever I show them, they somehow top it every time. Now Katie is clear across the world for me to be going to consistently every 2 weeks but I do. I sit in LA traffic just to know she's going to get me right. Most of the time, I get my hands and feet done at the same time which cuts my time in 1/2. Always easy to book an appt. Always the sweetest girls to work with. I love them so much. Gel X, Acrylics, Gel Pedicure, Eyebrows. Perfect shape and length every time. read more

Initially liked this place, but quickly wisened to how they just tack on extra costs left right and center - an extra $5 took the biscuit for a matte top coat and once they told me they had upped their prices, but they actually had not...but I digress! I had the most awful experience here recently however, when I asked for fairy dust on my nails (an extra $10 and $6 to fix two broken nails) - fair enough if the nail tech knew what she was doing! She kept part-curing the layers of gel polish so they were still wet when she put the fairy dust on. They kept wrinkling then and she kept having to re do them. I asked her to just fully cure them please, as they would definitely chip due to bottom layers still being wet when a new layer was put on. I have done my own nails this way and it was fine. She refused and talked about me to other nail techs laughing, then insisted then on doing 4 coats of white gel polish as well as the top coat. She also just lobbed polish on so the polish was so thick and also all over my hands! I got very distressed as I'm super busy in work, was going on vacation and did not want to have to come back to get them fixed (which I've had to do in the past) but she insisted I was wrong and it'd be ok. With 5 thick coats of gel polish, some of which were not fully cured! She also had the cheek to hand me a receipt looking for a tip after this which I did not pay as $64 to leave the salon visibly upset was enough. Lo and behold half way into my vacation the 2 nails she "fixed" broke off and 2 others chipped and part broke. The most appalling aspect of this was when I mailed them on Instagram to let them know this happened. I was initially ignored and then when I prodded them, they told me they'd fix it, but next time I should go to another salon. I am so insulted and hurt as a customer since January, that I couldn't endure the awkwardness of going back to get them fixed after that and ended up paying for another set elsewhere. DO NOT go here. All they want is tips and tacking on extra costs - they'll quote you $38 when you go in and suddenly you'll come out having paid $80. It is a very uncomfortable experience when getting your nails done should be relaxing. They don't see you as a valued customer at all and if you complain you'll be told to go elsewhere. read more

Came in for a full acrylic set. Emily no longer works there so Katie did my set. The entire process only took 1 hour. Got gel polish, no designs. I hate to give them 1 star because Katie is so nice, but the quality and workmanship was terrible. The acrylic was applied so thinly, filed so uneven, and was not or missed dremeling at certain steps. I have been getting acrylic sets for over 15 years so I am very familiar with the steps and process. I had to refile them when I got home. My entire set just looks like a mess. read more
