I agree with VHI Z.'s review and all the other 1 star ( should be ZERO stars) These guys SUCK BIG TIME! They are rude to their customers and to wedding guests. They did not even play the songs we requested! We spent a good amount of time looking through that book list that they gave us... only to find out we wasted our time... They even played the wrong song for our first dance... how the F can they get that wrong... We even filled out a piece of paper per their request to write in the songs we wanted for each event (i.e first dance, cake cutting..etc) got No apology No nothing just a LAME DJ company. So other than the fact that I have to give one star, I would have given that anyways because he did actually show up. To make a long story short. Week of the wedding messages did not even have a 24 hour turn around. MESSAGES SHOULD BE RETURNED SAME BUSINESS DAY THE WEEK OF SOMEONES WEDDING. The planner called, my husband called, we emailed and heard nothing. Secondly, weddings are hectic. After going to the office and seeing the thank you cards I planned on sending our dj a thank you card and tip. I had a water color done of our venue in Del Mar and custom thank you cards made of out so I thought that would be nice. All of my vendors other than the dj were on it. And I dont think the Dj realized the wedding planner was actually a personal friend of mine and when I was telling her I planned on tipping him and sending a card she said 1) he was late 2) complained about getting parking tickets repeatedly 3) he told her "they didnt even f*cking tip me" verbatem.... REALLY?!?! how unprofessional is that? Wedding vendors are a complete rip off anyways but you pay the extra money for their professionalism and dependability. A week before we still hadnt seen our guests requests from the website. And at one point he told us "per contract the songs need to be given to the dj 2 weeks prior to the event." Although I will say, there are always last minute changes with everything. And when we were able to get ahold of him he was accomadating. Even the night of the wedding when I asked to hear the songs I wanted he did play them. He did maintain the schedule, there wasnt any confusion at all. Overall while he was there he directed everything very well. And the equipment worked fine. The schedule he wrote out had our cocktail hour during when our ceremony should have been etc... I had the planner revise his exact schedule just with the CORRECT times. He tells me under contract he "does not need to follow anyones schedule" but his. Overall, it wasnt terrible, it didnt ruin my night what so ever, he wasnt rude to guests at all (the comment at the end of the night should have never been said though)... If I could give DJ Guy a "zero" star rating, I would. This company is horrible. I planned my grandparents anniversary party in 2008, and we had Dj Guy Novak (the owner) at our event. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! He gave us attitude upon simple requests, he was rude to a few of our guests, and he wanted to cut our speeches short. He threw a temper tantrum when we requested he turn the music down during cocktail hour- when people are trying to socialize. At the end of the night, he gave us dirty looks for not tipping him. I attended a wedding in Temecula about a month ago and was simply blown away at how horrible DJ guy was. The DJ himself was just rude. We tried to speak to him on behalf of the bride and he scoffed at her requests and actually marched over to her in the middle of the pictures to stand his ground. The bride asked for modern music to be played during the cocktail hour and we kept hearing jazz and other instrumental songs. When one of us walked over to politely ask him to put on more modern songs , his response was "this jazz music came out this year!" I was like , "I mean modern like top 40, as in the list you were given" and he rolled his eyes and told me to tell the bride to make up her mind. He was supposed to play till 11 but announce at 10am (over the loudspeaker) that he was officially on overtime. We asked him what he meant since 11 was the cutoff and he explained that had to start early since there were people here early ( didn't bother to mention this to bride or wedding coordinator) there were a few other instances but I figured this was enough. Absolute garbage. We booked this company for my wedding in 2008, despite being warned about the shady owner. We should have listened. The owner is notorious for promising you that he will be the one to DJ your wedding. This makes sense because it is the only person you meet prior to the ceremony. We even brought this to his attention and he swore that he would be at our wedding. Guess what??? Some guy we've never met showed up. Also, we drove from orange county to his home in Rancho to meet with him after work one night. It's about an hour and a half drive. He kept us waiting in his living room for over an hour while he finished up with another client. He tried to make it up to us by giving us a two dollar bottle of wine (Two buck chuck). STAY AWAY! So husband and I are some of the worst procrastinators ever. We got married about 3 years ago on 10/11/13 with DJ Guy and every year after we have said "we should really write that review already!" Anyway, of course I don't remember all the details of the planning process but what I do remember is thinking DJ Guy really came through for us! Particularly our awesome DJ Julio. Not only was he just plain cute :), but I felt like he completely understood what I was requesting. He also stirred up the crowd and got them to their feet. LOVED him! The ceremony music was absolutely spot on and beautiful. Brought us all to tears. Every song was played at the exact right time. The bubbles at the end of the ceremony coupled with the perfect ending song made for such a magical moment! He played all the songs requested. The uplighting was lovely and we are glad we splurged for the extra glow stick things and dance floor lighting. So much fun and made for some spectacular pictures. Our last song "The Promise" by When in Rome was so epic! Two major things that really stood out where he went above and beyond: 1. we lost all power in the place at one point! Julio was somehow able to get a generator in there and start up the music and lighting again within a few minutes. Amazing! He saved the night! It ended up making the night even more memorable. 2. He put my shoes back on for me at the end of the night! :). That's one thing I won't forget. My feet were killing me so I had been waking around barefoot. People were lining up outside to send us off. And everyone had disappeared, including hubs. He saw me sitting there attempting to put my shoes on in this big dress and asked to do it for me. This may seem like an minor detail to some, but I am still so thankful for this. I mean this was the DJ doing this for me when literally I can think of like 12 other people who should have been doing it instead. Surprised to see this company have such bad reviews. My wedding was done by Roy who I believe is the owner so I can only speak for his services. He delivered exactly what was promised, kept the night moving along without it feeling rushed and played all the right music. And there were no glitches or mic issues at the ceremony. When I booked them, I was delighted by their service. Roy was the one who offered his services for our day, and after such a great demonstration at his house (office), a reasonable price, we accepted. All the time we dealt with Roy, no one else. I attended a wedding where Julio was the DJ and everything went smoothly. The problems I see were that: 1) No communication after paying and signing contract! Not even ONE phone call or email was done by them towards us in 6 months!!! Every time was me trying to call them. 2 weeks before the wedding I had to call to confirm if they had received an email, which apparently they didnt. 2) Roy was more worried about "his" reputation as a DJ than making US happy with what I wanted. When I suggested X, Y, Z songs he voiced to be concerned that the audience wouldn't like it. I explained I knew our guests and to please follow ONLY the music approved by us on the play list. This was not followed. During the dancing time my husband had to go to him, only to find out he had "marked" songs on his computer screen as played when they were not really played at all. Same happened when other songs started playing that we had NOT included. Just for the record, there was at least 100 songs in our MUST list (4.2 hours min) to play that we chose, so that is PLENTY of continuos music time for dance time. 3) The timeline was modified last minute because I wanted certain things, like the garter toss, etc to be done at a certain time, and Roy was not happy about this. He wants to follow HIS timeline, not the one the customer is providing. Sorry but you have to be open to changes and switches in a wedding. Once dinner was finished, he started switching up things around. I end up dancing my "first dance" in the darkness because he altered the sequence of events. Of course, no one noticed BUT I did! and that is all that matters. I paid for a service that was poorly done. 4) My last thing, the entrance song for my bridal party was WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! He played an acoustic VERY slow song. Thank God for my bridal party who improvised to the song and made it funny. Then Roy had the guts to come and tell me that was the song we had chosen!!!! Come on! Man up for your mistakes at least. In all I would've hired someone else and yes, I would've also paid more! They were very nice and punctual on the day of the wedding BUT all the other flaws makes it not worth the aggravation. read more

To whom it may concern this company is among the best, I have read all of the reviews posted prior to mine, and it is hard for me to believe that I am even reviewing the same company these people reviewed prior to me. I married my BESTFRIEND on November 12 2013 ( 11-12-13 ) at the DISNEYLAND hotel. I attended three Bridal Bazaars and met with dozens of DJs and DJ GUY was the only one That stuck in my mind... He has an great staff and they had the BEST name ever, i mean who could forget that name. They were also the only ones handing out glow wands that flashed LED lights so that caught our attention right away. I also saw DJ GUY advertised in THE KNOT magazine. So I felt very confident in this company. After I met Julio at the bazaar playing music and the owner Roy Novak handing out glow wands at the bazaar in Down Town San Diego I agreed to set an appointment for me and my now husband to meet with them . They gave me an address, that was to his home studio in a very nice neighborhood. He was very respectful and friendly to me,my husband & our daughter. He had AWSOME equipment that was modern and current. He really spent alot of time with us picking what songs we wanted and my husband and him talked about military stuff. it was actually really nice.We wanted the dry ice REAL bad because we had a Disney Fairytale wedding BUT unfortunately we were not aloud to have it BUT he did try very hard to get it for us,his efforts were appreciated. The day of the wedding was beautiful and everything went accordingly I could not have been happier, He did amazing on our ceremony.He had everything set up and ready to go right on time ! He played " can you feel the love tonight" form Disneys Lion King they then played a special mix to the traditional bridal march that the created ( IT WAS BEYOND GORGEOUS) then he played " Kiss the girl " from Disneys little mermaid and our song as we walked away was "A whole new world " from Disneys Aladdin and it may sound simple but I assure you it wasn't, I had specific times in each song that he HAD to play and he did so beautifully ! I was so happy I cried. After the ceremony was the reception, and immediately DJ guy went to the reception hall and set up, by the time my guests and bridal party arrived the music was up a bumping. We had a very intimate wedding with a total of only 20 guests including the groom and myself. I had a fear that i was wasting money getting a DJ because the people that came were older and not much into dancing or maybe because a lot of my guests were new moms with little babies.... BUT boy was I wrong! MY DJ had EVERYONE out there dancing IT WAS AMAZING! the kids had their big DJ GUY wands and were dancing like CRAZY! it was the most fun any of my guests have had in a long time! My mother and my husband did a 'mother and son dance' and it was a blend between " its a wonderful world", "The chicken dance" , "MAKARANA" and "YMCA" and I LOVED it and so did everyone ealse! The DJ got everyone involved! We also got the cake spotlight that helped brighten up the room and draw attention to our cake! it was beautiful. Another thing that we got through DJ GUY that we felt really contributed to the decor of our wedding was the photo montage that played during dinner. it was a tear jerker and made for a great time for the guests to see themselves and see how much they meant to my husband and myself. POINT BLANK : What I liked: 1. Good price with bundled items 2. Great sound system and had a generator 3. Willing to work with custom songs we provide / blend music 4. i contacted dj guy based on the recommendation of a good friend - who had used them two years ago. i was planning my wedding quite quickly (a month and a half - i'm still impressed with myself) and from germany (i'm from encinitas, but we live here in germany currently), so i hired them based on their pricing and that recommendation alone. later, about a week and a half before our wedding, i checked them out on yelp. why, i don't know, because there was nothing i could do about it anyway and oh my god, was i freaked out after reading all these comments!!! i have to say, that the thing that freaked me out the most was that some of the little things being said were true - they did have a "salesman" attitude which was slightly annoying at times, but i had chosen to just ignore it. and worse, it was true that their communication had lessened after i'd paid the deposit - which also made me a little nervous. and i agree, messages should be returned same day, or at worst, the day after. and mine weren't always. that said, the day of, chris was really great. i was caught in the whole whirlwind of getting married, so i didn't pay much attention to him (or anything), to be honest, but everything ran smoothly and even though we were half an hour late for everything, he got us back on track and gave some advice on switching things around (we had planned on an hour of dancing before the cake, but he suggested doing the cake first, as we were already a bit late, so we could just relax and dance after) so that everyone enjoyed everything. he even handled things that were not his job - like getting us something to cut the cake with when he noticed we were standing there without a knife or anything (which was actually pretty funny - he came running over and it was fine - people just got to listen to more of our song, while we chatted with people and made jokes about it). i think that what some people were saying is true, both my father and my new husband's father are quite talkative and he did kind of get on the mic and hurry them along a bit, once they were done (and still yelling comments to each other - they are both that "need to have the last word" type), but what he said wasn't rude and to be fair, we really did need to move on. he did the same thing - hinted at us to be moving around the tables quicker, as we were supposed to be finished "making the rounds" and we were only on the second table - but again, wasn't rude at all and we really did have to keep moving... all in all, i can see what some of the people were saying, but i have to say overall, i was quite happy with their services. all of our songs were correct - in fact, he had to search all over for our first dance song (he said it was the hardest song for them to find yet) but he did so without complaint and it was a perfect version - even better than the one i had found on youtube (which a friend pointed out later was 7 minutes - waaaay too long) because it was just under 4 minutes. as i said, it was a whirlwind and i wasn't paying much attention to the details - but i think that thankfully, it's because i didn't have to. i had a great coordinator at our venue (jeannette at la costa resort), a great photographer (melissa biador) and a great dj (chris from dj guy) who totally made it so i could just relax and enjoy myself instead of worrying about the details. though the negative reviews might still give me pause if i were searching for a dj now, i hope that people take mine - and my friend's original recommendation to me - into consideration. i would hire them again! and i really appreciate their work that day. read more

Unfortunately, there isn't a "no star" option, which is the only reason why I gave DJ Guy 1 star. I didn't personally deal with this company until the night of my sister's wedding. However, any time my sister went to meetings with the owner (Roy) to discuss song choices, etc. prior to the event, she was completely irate at the condescending and arrogant attitude that he had towards her. Not only did he give her a hard time on several occasions about having a string trio for the ceremony instead of choosing him, he was constantly telling her that her song choices for the reception were terrible. I'm sorry Roy, was that your wedding? Absolutely not. I understand if you want to recommend your company, but being pushy, rude, and not giving up when you're told NO is NOT going to get you any business. My sister had been told that Roy wouldn't be DJ'ing at her wedding, which is the only reason why she stuck with DJ Guy in the first place. On the evening of her wedding, Roy ended up showing up to be the DJ, which sent my sister into a complete panic. Seeing her reaction was a huge red flag, so I tried to keep the contact between him and her minimal. I talked with him a handful of times throughout the evening, and every time I spoke with him, he was condescending (surprise, surprise), not accommodating to anybody's requests, and he played basically none of the songs that were on the "must play" list. He pretty much played whatever HE wanted to play. The icing on top of the cake was when I overheard him telling a few of the guests at the wedding that my sister and her husband had bought the cheapest package he offered, but that "he was still going to give them quality service." I would say that this company should fire Roy ASAP to save their reputation, but considering he's the owner, that's not possible. Unfortunately, I don't see much changing unless Roy changes his disgustingly RUDE and CONDESCENDING attitude. This man knows absolutely nothing about being respectful. I am the mother of the bride & met with Guy Roy Novak twice with my daughter & her fiance to help plan their wedding reception entertainment. Being "the specialist of wedding entertainment", as he quoted at the time, made an impressive interview & promised to make my daughter's wedding the most memorable event of her life. These occassions only come once for most, so careful planning with every detail is critical on making sure this special event goes the way you expect them to. As the wedding came closer, we sat down with owner, Roy to finalize the program & song list. Roy being the specialist as he claims to be, suggested Pacco for the event. To make things short, Pacco did not follow the program & song list that we carefully planned. He played what you call "lazy music" & claimed that my daughter's wedding was not at all the type he usually is used to. My daughter & her now husband, are in their mid 20s & specifically requested the top 40's to be played & special songs requested by the parents, a couple of their faves. Not too hard to fullfil. Pacco, the disc jockey, didn't even play a favorite song of my daughter, the BRIDE, the song that she had on the list of songs she carefully planned. He did not introduce the bridal party accurately, rudely treated me, & did not execute a fun & entertaining evening that yes, Guy Roy Novak "promised" to provide the most memorable time of your life. Advise to all that are planning the most important event of your life, DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS DJ! It gives me great pleasure to write this review. We had DJ GUY for my son's Bar Mitzvah. Roy was unbelievable, talk about above and beyond. Not only did he come early to set up, he checked with us to make sure everything was exactly how it was suppose to be. He was a great, I mean great DJ. Positive, enthusiastic, you could tell he really was passionate about his job and his business. He played a DVD n also made us copies, he brought these cool foam things that llit up that the kids loved, he also made sure the DVD was going work perfectly days before event. He was on top of everything. He had a spectacular light show, and the fog along with the emblem on the floor that read Bar Mitzvah, let me tell you that Roy didn't miss a beat. He really interacted with the kids beautifully, and very patient. My son wanted some lincoln Park songs, and Roy made sure the cuss words were turned off so the little ears were not listening. He even checked on us several times to ask how we were doing. Our wedding wouldn't have been amazing if it wasn't for our DJ from DJ guy! Our wedding was back in April of 2013, so forgive me if I cannot remember the name I'd have to go back and look through my paperwork, but I believe it was the owner? We had several meetings with my fiance to go over the small details of our event, and let me tell you our wedding was chaotic!!! Just like our photographer told us, our timeline was very tight and we had no wiggle room, we actually had some late bridesmaids and some things took longer than expected. No one knew about the behind the scenes chaos of course except for our bridal party, photographer and Dj. If it wasn't for our Dj, I would have probably died right then and there because of the stress, but once we told him some things are running a little behind he right away improvised, came up with a solution and worked his magic. Seriously he tweaked our timeline and helped us with our entire dilemma. I was stunned at how quickly he worked, but then again he's been doing this for years and definitely not his first crazy wedding hah!! Besides his amazing powers of working well under pressure, he had an amazing selection of music. The wedding was 99% Hispanic, and he had the best selection of hug your dad and clank champagne glasses and cry songs by Vicente Fernandez. Dj Guy let's you pick your favorites with a fun little widget, but I loved that he threw in his mix of popular songs as well. Well I'm sorry to see so many other reviewers that had trouble at their events but my experience was wonderful. The worst part of the whole experience is the sleezy owner of the company who pitches the sale to you. I mean it was an entertaining presentation but all we wanted was someone who was not cheesy on the mic and can get the dancefloor going. I was skeptical because we did not get to meet our dj before the event but I have to say the price was right. In these tough times who isn't looking for a break price wise especially for such an expensive affair. I made the decision to use these guys because I have had several friends that have used them and have never had any issues. I am so glad I did. We finally met our dj just after the ceremony ended. When we got to the location the dj (Paco) was already set up. The reception was just outside the reception hall so he had his whole setup off to the side. We had hired a duet of violinists to play the music for the ceremony. Paco set up a wireless mic for the pair which was also used for the ceremony. Everything was picture perfect as I envisioned it and we walked down the aisle in pure bliss. Now to the fun part. Paco moved his gear inside for the reception and the fun began. I have to say he was absolutely wonderful. He was very attentive to our needs, checking to see if we needed anything through the night. We did throw him a couple of curve balls with changes in the planned schedule and even a few other special requests and he came through with flying colors! I even noticed that he made sure the photographers and video guy were on standby before any of the events happened. He was far from the cheeseball standard I have been used to when I hear these guys on the mic at other weddings. He never tried to be overbearing but he kept things moving along at such a perfect pace. When the dancing began Paco took control of the dance floor. We picked out only a handful of songs for the actual dancing segment of the evening but he also came with all the requests my guests submitted through their website which is a very cool feature. He played such a nice eclectic mix of music that had my guests going nuts. This was by far the craziest dancefloor I have ever seen at a wedding and it was happening at mine! It was absolutely packed until the very last song. The worst part of the evening was ending the event, I would have extended the event another hour as Paco would have gladly obliged but the venue was not allowed to go past midnight. =( booooo! Oh well I did know this in advance but we still had the time of our lives. Thank you Paco for such an amazing night. You were absolutely perfect. Dj Guy came through for us. I hired these guys for my wedding and was very pleased. Although you don't meet your DJ until a couple weeks before your event (because they have so many), they match you up with a pretty fitting DJ. We got married on 8/12/16 and had a smaller wedding with about 40 guests. We had been planning on just using a spotify playlist to save money, but at the last minute changed our mind and decided to book a DJ, and I am so glad we did!! Our DJ was Nicholas, and he was awesome! Very professional, kept the timeline on schedule, played a lot of the songs we had suggested, and was great at announcing the different parts of the wedding. He also played the music at our ceremony. We were very impressed with how upbeat he was, and his ability to help keep guests out on the dance floor, even with a smaller crowd! Chris from DJ Guy did a great job for my wedding on July 2, 2011. I saw the negative reviews on Yelp and was worried, but he came through shining. He was there early, he played all the music I requested. I wanted just the instrumental version of a number of new and current music that they didn't have yet to play during the dinner and they went out and bought them just for my wedding. Chris went out of his way to set up one speaker outside and one inside so everyone could hear all the announcments. He also planned out the introductions perfectly and announced all the events on time. I don't know how well all the other DJ's are at the Company, but Chris was focused and did a great job to make sure the reception went smoothly and that everyone was dancing. Thanks! read more

From one DJ to another, BEST SERVICE I have ever encountered. I am the groom. Bride and I started planning our wedding around November 2013. Came across DJ Guy at a wedding Bazaar in Del Mar. The process of actually selecting DJ guy as our DJ was pretty easy. He has several awards from "The Knot", which convinced bride he was THE ONE. I my self, use to DJ professionally a few years back, and was VERY impressed with DJ Guy's structure. This man is a TRUE profesional. The biggest thing to us, was finding someone who would devote themselves 100% to our wedding, and give us the feeling that it was not just business to them. Well, DJ Guy hit the nail right on the head. The day of the wedding, I was at the hall setting everything up. DJ guy showed up about 2 hours prior to the ceremony starting. Our ceremony started at 5pm, followed by the reception which was scheduled to begin at 6pm. From the moment he walked in, he gave me the sense of comfort. He simply asked, "where would you like me to set up?" and BAM, he was off to do his thing. We got pretty much every single extra he has to offer. As I was running around setting up final details, he was doing his own thing, making sure all his equipment was set up properly, out of the way, and hidden so it would not be distracting to guests. When he was done with everything at the hall, he proceeded to set up audio at the ceremony site (which was a few yards away, outdoors). He played amazing ambient music as guests arrived and got settled in. I was not there for that part, because I was staging for the grand entrance, but all of my guests that WERE there, gave me kudos for the music. They all said the same thing. "It was like we were in a movie". During the Ceremony, he provided a microphone that was set up clear out of the way, but did provide that extra little kick needed to make sure everyone in the last rows were able to hear. When the ceremony was over, we all proceeded to take pictures, and DJ Guy rapidly returned to the hall to start the cocktail hour music. I had explained what type of music I wanted my guests to walk into, and he played just that. He is a genius at figuring out amazing play lists off of one or two songs. Again, I was not there for the cocktail hour, but my groomsmen and the brides maids vouched for him, and all said the music was PERFECT. When bride and I finally arrived at the hall and were getting ready to do our bridal party presentation. DJ Guy came out to where we were and did a quick briefing of how it would all happen. He has obviously done tons of entrances. For bride and I, this was obviously our first. He had already gotten all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen names, and had set up the order they would walk in. When bride and I got there, all he had to do was pump everyone up, which he did an AMAZING job. The entrance was PERFECT!. Music we requested was right on que. Bride and I walked in saying hi to everyone. Music was loud and perfect! As soon as bride and I made it to the center of the dance floor, I simply signaled DJ Guy, and he announced to our guests the beginning of our first dance. One of the options we got, was the dry ice (cloud effect). It was breath taking. There we were, Bride and I, dancing to Stevie Wonder's "You and I" and a think cloud of fog rolls in. Looked exactly like if we were dancing on a cloud. Everyone was taken by surprise. EVERYONE at the party was in awe! After the first dance, my father in law did a quick blessing for dinner, and DJ Guy came up to me and said "Don't worry, I will release the tables one at a time, so that there isn't chaos". And he did. Every single table was release to the buffet style dinner we got, and everyone was able to get dinner fairly quick. If there was one thing we wanted, it was for our guests to be happy, and it was obvious that it was the same thing DJ Guy was after. Thru out the night, my number one priority was my bride. I wanted her to enjoy her night as much as possible. Every time I did something near DJ Guy, he was there to help. This man is like an octopus. He did NOT miss a beat in any of the songs, and somehow found the time to help me set up the toast, move the cake bc of an incident. Anything I needed (Music related or not) he was there to help. I feel like he went above and beyond. I did not expect anything from him but the DJ service. We got MUCH MORE then that. He offers a ton of options that are very much fairly priced. Hard to choose a favorite, but the Picture Slide show was definitely the most talked of. He sat bride and I in front of the screen and all of our guests watched with us. Guests that were IN the slide show, would cheer and laugh when thy would come up on the screen. YOU HAVE TO pick DJ Guy for your next event. There is no other service like his out there. All business aside, DJ Guy will handle your event as if it was his own personal one. read more

He catered to our needs and wants, checked up on us during the night yo make sure we were good, gave us some lighting no charge, did everything that we asked him to do, & even coordinated our wedding & walked us through the whole thing. My parents have used the DJ guys twice now for me and my brother and they were awesome! My father already left a review but I wanted to make sure I did too. I do not get all the bad reviews. I believe we had the owner for my wedding and when my parents hired them for my brothers wedding we had Chris. Chris was awesome for my brothers wedding, he did an awesome job on the music and was really nice when the kids wanted to request their favorite song, Gangnam Style, so they could show off their 'moves' that really made the night! The gentleman I had for my wedding, sorry totally drawing a blank on the name, was I believe the owner. The music was great and he made sure to check in that we were enjoying the music he was playing during the down time. He was also soooo AWESOME at keeping things on time. I did not have to worry about anything in terms of timing because he was ON it. Which he could have just stood there all night without a care in the world but he worked with our photographer to make sure she was still around for important things like the cake, garter and bouquet toss. We also got the photo booth option and while my husband and I didn't get to use it that much, our guests had a freakin blast! They had a good selection of props too which the little kiddos really loved. Looking through the photo book that we got afterwards was really fun! I would definitely refer these guys to my friends and other family members they truly did an amazing job. read more

DJ Guy was the life of our family beach party and it was a great decision. We had an awesome time and everyone from 2 to 75 was up and dancing. No sure how they were able to do it but they had every song at their finger tips when it was requested. Professional, on time, and a reasonable price for so much fun. My husband and I booked DJ Guys for our wedding on Sunday, 4/27/14. Roy was our DJ and I believe he is the owner as well. He was 1 of 2 DJ's that we interviewed for our wedding (I know we probably should have interviewed more but when you know you know) and we found him on our recommended vendor list from our venue, Temecula Creek Inn. The 2 DJ's were completely opposite, Roy was very lively, up beat, outgoing and very knowledgeable, where as the other DJ was very quiet and laid back (however I am sure he was an equally great DJ). We opted to go with Roy as his personality was the feel we were looking for at our wedding. We paid him a deposit (the only thing is on the website I believe it says the deposit is $100 for non-Saturday events and they asked me for a $300 deposit I believe) and decided to move forward with him. The entire time Roy was very easy to work with. For me, the music was the hardest part of the wedding and I was very anxious about making a play list. Roy had a great pre made list of songs for dinner and dancing that everyone enjoyed and complimented us on. During the wedding we needed to change the order of a couple things and Roy was very accommodating to the last minute changes. I also had a good friend who was going to announce the bridal party but had gotten a little tipsy before hand and Roy was really great in dealing with her and getting her in order. In my package we had a cake spot light, monogrammed dance floor light and glow sticks (that Roy had recommended and were a GREAT hit!) and everyone had a really great time. Everyone danced the whole time and we got a lot of compliments on the music and our DJ. We were very happy and would recommend them to anyone. My wife and I just got married on nov 22 2014 . It was small but very very awesome and beautiful wedding. From the start of ceremony, the dj helped pick the flute music for the entrance and made everyone happy then right after the ceremony, the party started! Again with the help of the dj I did see everybody dancing and having the best time of there life. Thank you DJ guy. DJ Guy was Top Notch !! We just flew across country and attended by brother's wedding in San Diego this past weekend. The wedding ceremony was outside and from what we were told it was exceptionally hot and humid. We were all searching for the smallest bit of shade and wilting. Then this man (whom I presumed was the wedding planner) came around and served every guest waiting before the ceremony a glass of ice water !!! Don't really think that was in his job description, but that goes to show you the type of considerate and thoughtful man DJ Guy is. Now to the ACTUAL duties of the DJ. The pre-wedding music was beautiful and he set the mood for the ocean side ceremony perfectly. His announcements were lively, witty and very professional. He played excellent dinner music at just the perfect balance of volume. We could hear the music and also the conversation at the table. The dance floor was full of energy and from the first to last song it was always going. Even when he started a song that people began to drift off the dance floor, he quickly faded it out and on to a new song that brought everyone back!! It takes a true professional to read the music style that the guests are wanting and act quickly. From the best slow songs to the hottest dance beats this DJ knows what he is doing. After the wedding was over, I asked DJ Guy if he wanted to travel to Florida for our daughter's destination wedding. (That is how GREAT this DJ is.) He gave us his card and said he loves Florida. I really hope that he is willing and able to travel for her date. That would be one less thing for these parents to have to worry about. The DJ really can make or break a wedding. This one made the wedding experience fantastic from the start to finish. What a great and lasting impression he made. These "DJ Guys" name should be changed to DJ Kids. They have no class or respect. The owner Guy Roy Novak is a douchebag and does not know what it means when the customer comes first and is always right. First of all, we interviewed with Roy and he really fooled us, paying him $1400 for a DJ that didn't relate to our style of music and messed up so many times that it basically ruined me and my wife's wedding night! The DJ first messed up on the intro of my groomsmen forgetting to mention one of them, so I had to quickly run inside and tell him that he skipped a name because the Bestman was supposed to be last. Next, our bridal party song was so wack, we didn't even dance to it because it was a DJ choice song and it was so old, we were all like wth is going on! And that wasn't it with the old songs. The whole first hour, the DJ played songs that made a bad impression on our guests and made it feel like our 50th wedding anniversary!! The DJ had no energy or enthusiasm to motivate and bring our guests to the dancefloor. We had so many complaints from our guests because there was dead air and no smooth transition into the next song and this happened several times. Setting up the projector for our slideshow took 20 minutes and the DJ just wasn't prepared at all. The music that he had was so old that we had guests giving us their iPods to give to the DJ which was so embarassing!! They have no current songs and when I asked the owner of the DJ Kids why, he said it is due to copyright laws or whatever and I'm not buying that bs for a minute! The whole point of being a DJ is to have great and current music as well as classics but don't sit there and tell me that you can't have music that is played on the radio and actually be a Professional DJ company that is known by many people nation wide. And then when we call this Roy, he has the nerve! The nerve to make excuses for each complaint that we had against him and his DJ! We had to plead our case for over 3 hours in a span of two days before we could get a measly $200 back. All in all, do not go to these kids. They will screw you at the end and treat their customers with any loyalty at all except in the beggining when they are trying to get your money. There were so many other mishaps that this review could go on forever. So please take MY WORD and go to another DJ company. Thank you! read more
