This DJ company was on our preferred list of vendors with Grand Tradition, and overall we are pretty happy, but I am stuck between giving 3 and 4 stars. We booked them about 2 years in advance and since the start we were under the impression that Bryan would be our DJ as we had spoken with him and others over phone and email and hadn't been told otherwise. Then 2 months before the wedding we were "assigned" our DJ. We ended up loving him and were excited to move forward, he was exactly the vibe we were looking for. Then a week before our wedding we received a vague "due to scheduling issues this DJ can no longer do your wedding so here's another guy". I would have preferred a straight up answer but didn't really get a response as to why this happened. We met with the new DJ and he seemed good, had lots of experience but wasn't exactly what we had hoped for. With the last minute change and stress we failed to cover all details and had a few issues at the wedding, we forgot to mention the fade out we needed from grand entrance to first dance (had told the previous DJ but hadn't remembered to share this with the new one). Then there was a point around 11:00 PM where he left to check on the equipment out front for the grand exit and the music cut out for a few minutes and we couldn't find him and guests were confused. Overall these issues weren't huge and we loved the way he played older hits at the start and saved the younger hits for later in the night when just the young crowd was left, he kept the party going and the dance floor was amazing all night. But with the changes and communication issues I left feeling a bit disappointed with our experience with this company. read more

Bryan was the DJ/MC for our wedding on January 29, 2022 in Carlsbad, and my wife and I are so happy he was a part of our big day. After just one conversation with him, we knew he was the guy for us and he definitely delivered! We had previously interviewed and spoke with 5 other DJs and never really clicked with them the way we did with Bryan. One thing we really try to look for in a vendor is someone who is available/communicative and easy to reach. Throughout our wedding planning process, Bryan was available to bounce song choices off of and gave a bunch of suggestions when we were stuck on song selections. On the day of, he arrived a couple hours before start time to fully set up and was ready to go once our guests started to arrive. The song selection for each part of the night (guest arrival, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and open dancing) fit perfectly for the vibe we wanted. The sound equipment he uses worked great in the reception/dance space without feeling like you were at concert. The accent lighting he provided for the reception space fit our color and became fun dance lighting that changed to the music during our open dancing time. Let me just say that Bryan is a very nice guy and it sucks that I have to put a bad reivew up for him, because I really did like him as a person. After looking for a dj for a few weeks we met Brian at grand traditions (our venue) during there bridal show. He was funny charming and had so many good ideas. We wanted to hire him but unfortunately had a prior event the day of our wedding. He said he had another guy who worked for him (Adam) and was just as good. So we set up a meeting with both of them (Brian and Adam) to go over everything we wanted. We are young, we are from Vegas, and we love to dance so the song choices were very important. My mother was with us as she was helping me plan everything. We were very attiment to them about the speeches and the role of the dj during the reception as far as announcements, dances, etc. They had so many good ideas for the different things that take place. They fully understood our vision (so we thought) and everything we wanted. We went over it many times. We also had another meeting with Adam before the wedding to finalize songs, dances, etc. We fully felt 100% confident we had showed him what we wanted and that he understood and had our same vision. On the day of the wedding we found out we did not have the same vision. The songs were off, (teach me how to dougie was played during dinner). Last minute Adam came up to us as we were getting ready to do our grand entrance and said that the staff at our venue had a better way of doing things and being in the middle of something I could not really argue for what we had previously disccused. (However Pacific Entertainment is on the venues preferred vendor list, and they should know that before hand, plus we talked to the venue and they said they have seen the Dj's do what we were requesting and never would have told that to Adam) People requested songs; he never played them. I had put a lot of songs on our request list in case he did not know what to play or if people were not requesting songs, but I told him to play peoples requests and not to worry about that list unless needed. I had to personaly leave the dance floor and tell him to play the wobble song as he never played any interactive songs like requested and the guests kept asking me to go put requests because he would not listen to them. He never sped up songs or mixed them or anything it was like if I put a CD together and let it just play. He started the father daughter dance when my dad was no where around so we had to do groom and mother dance first. Then when he announced things you could hardly hear him. We told him 4 times and the venue even told him once that no one could hear him but he didn't fix it. He must have came up to me 50 times asking me questions that we already went over before. I felt like they made alot of promises they didn't keep, the things that stood out the most they never did. We paid more for them than we budjeted for in the DJ department because we thought they had so many great ideas and it eneded up biting us in the butt. After talking to GT they informed us it was only Brian on their preferred vendors list not Adam and that they were not happy with him(Adam) either. I talked to Bryan who was very very very apologetic about the situation and offered his services for another event and asked for our address to send us something, but it really sucks. you cant go back and change that the DJ was not that great at our wedding, and we paid for greatness and didnt get that. However it was nice that Bryan was open to listening to us and did not try to argue with us he seemed genuien about wanting are feedback. Bryan was our DJ for our wedding on 3/21/15 and he was amazing! He went above and beyond to make sure that our reception ran smoothly. During dinner or when he was not at his DJ booth, Bryan would come up to my husband and me and ask what we needed, whether it was to talk to the wait staff or get us another drink. He has a great personality and did a wonderful job MCing. Our reception was running a bit late on schedule due to dinner and toasts being a bit longer than intended, and I was worried that we wouldn't have enough time for dancing, but Bryan was able to work things around and we were able to get through all the main events so that we could have a full hour of dancing (it was the perfect amount, I was so pooped out by the end!). I am a fan of Bryan Thrane at Pacific Entertainment. The pros: The price was very reasonable and he listened closely to our requests. He was willing to meet with us as much as we needed (we met a total of three times). He came to us so we didn't need to leave home. He was also willing to meet with us the week of our wedding to finalize our plans. My wife and I were very specific and detailed about how we wanted the agenda. We wanted certain genres of music during certain periods throughout the night. We also wanted specific announcements made and Bryan did a fine job.
