I am a fan of Bryan Thrane at Pacific Entertainment. The pros: The price was very reasonable and he listened closely to our requests. He was willing to meet with us as much as we needed (we met a total of three times). He came to us so we didn't need to leave home. He was also willing to meet with us the week of our wedding to finalize our plans. My wife and I were very specific and detailed about how we wanted the agenda. We wanted certain genres of music during certain periods throughout the night. We also wanted specific announcements made and Bryan did a fine job. We also gave him the opportunity to read the crowd and change the music as he saw fit, many people were dancing through the night! Bryan checked in with us to give us a heads up on our schedule to let us know when we were moving on to the next event, he coordinated with our venue coordinator so everything ran smoothly. The cons: Bryan did mispronounce one person's name during the grand entrance; later during the night he simply referred to the bride's father as "Leonora's father" and then referred to the groom's mother as "Kurt's mother" instead of using their names. Overall we were quite satisfied and really enjoyed Bryan's professionalism and courtesy! read more

We booked Bryan for our March 2021 wedding. If you know anything about March weddings in 2021 in San Diego you know it's a dicey, unsure, Restriction-filled, pandemic time. Given all the stress that already goes into planning a wedding, let alone during COVID - we really feel like Bryan delivered for us. We booked him early on during 2020 being hopeful our wedding could go on. Every single time we talked to him, from the initial phone call he was positive, upbeat, excited, and most of all genuine. Booking was a snap, his online management portal was well-organized and made planning a breeze. While I'd love to say he packed the dance floor, unfortunately being a COVID bride dancing wasn't allowed outside of the first dance and father/daughter and mother/son dances. However, what this made us realize is how integral your DJ is to your ceremony, overall reception flow, speeches, reception events and reception music/vibe. Bryan listened so what we wanted and delivered everything seamlessly. We didn't have to worry about a single thing that day, and he'd check in with us and our bridal party to make sure everyone was ready for their speeches, dances, announcements, etc. It's gotta be weird for a DJ to make announcements to actively keep people OFF the dance floor (thanks COVID) but Bryan was so kind, fun, and excited throughout the wedding that even the announcements were funny. He's a true professional who was able to pivot and make the day amazing regardless of restrictions. My husband even threw in a curveball last minute of adding a song the day of and Bryan pulled it off no problem. I couldn't recommend Bryan more - please book him for your next event - he's amazing! Bryan was outstanding! Perfect for the wedding we had and adjusted well to our smaller wedding (around 30 people). I didn't think it was possible to give a wedding of that size a large wedding feel in terms of energy but he did it. He hit all of our requests and was able to feel the crowd for what adjustments were necessary to keep everyone moving. We booked Bryan for our wedding and with all that goes into a wedding music and your MC are quite important for such a special day. After one phone conversation with Bryan I was completely comfortable booking him as I felt we were on the same page. I was all over the place having an idea of what I wanted form that day but having no details. Bryan was confident in his ability and assured me he was up to the challenge and was excited. His website made the process easy and always had a line of communication and would respond to any questions we had in a very timely manner. He worked with us with our question or passing guilt up until the night before our wedding with changes and additions to our requests. He made the process feel like we were working with a friend doing us a favor and not a "business" that had rules and red tape. Bryan was on point the night of our wedding. We gave him a wide variety of music and he was able to seamlessly mesh all genres, kept the dance floor full and was always clear on the mic. Nothing worse then not being able to understand what the MC is saying, or having someone with no energy and who is monotone. I am new to yelp and have never written a review! in fact, I created a profile just to write on here. I was perusing the site (my wife has a business) and stumbled upon Bryan and Pacific Entertainment's page (He DJ'd our wedding 2 years ago). I was absolutely SHOCKED to see a negative review about Bryan below. But more on that later. We were married September of 2011 at The El Cortez building in downtown San Diego. This is a venue that requires brides to bring in all of their vendors (flowers, food, cake, DJ, even tables/chairs/linens). Of all of our vendors, which my wife was very impressed with most of them, Bryan was the most outgoing, personable, and fun vendor to work with all while still keeping things professional. From the first time we met with him, to the day of the wedding, he was very catering to our needs. We have a large, loud, rambunctious family who loves to dance, so the music selection was very important to us. When we were first met with him, we told him every single song we thought was a must at our wedding. He added his opinion about what to add, what to subtract, we took his advice and couldn't have been happier. Everyone has been to a wedding where the DJ tries to "steal the show", maybe not intentionally, but it seems like the DJ can be on the mic the entire wedding, like he is Ryan Seacrest on American Idol. That is not how Bryan acts. Bryan makes sure everyone is having a good time by observing them, not by asking the entire wedding party 100 times on the mic. At the same time he makes sure the wedding flows nicely and keeps everything on time. I do not recommend doing this to him, but I made a few changes the day before our wedding to the ceremony music. He very professionally obliged and came through with flying colors. Now, regarding the bride who wrote that nasty review. I can't imagine somebody reasonable having that many complaints about someone who is so good at what he does. In fact, I clicked her profile. most of her reviews are negative. Also, she posted a review about Cheesecake Factory. Cheesecake Factory?? who reviews that? They are all the same. Its a chain. They were great! Bryan was awesome and kept the party going! Great vibe and super professional! Our guests kept saying the music was incredible and played 100% into our country rustic theme. DJs are such an important piece of a wedding. For me, it was really important to find a DJ who could narrate and navigate the night - someone experienced and charismatic. Bryan is amazing, and I'm so glad we chose him to be the DJ for our wedding at Grand Tradition. I first met him at a bridal fair at the venue, as he is one of the preferred vendors there, and even had to wait in line to speak with him! He was willing to meet with us as often as we needed - we met twice, and he was always prompt in returning emails or phone calls. He was great with suggestions if you didn't have ideas for dances, etc and he listened to what we wanted and went with it. At both our meetings we has so much fun chatting, that sometimes we weren't even talking wedding! Bryan arrived at the venue 2 hours before the cocktail hour started to be sure he was set up on time, and was apparently ready to go when cocktail hour began - we were taking pictures so we missed the start. He introduced us energetically with the songs we asked for, and kept the reception running smoothly. He only came up to ask a question once, and that was to be sure he had permission to play a requested song. When Bryan played songs that had specific dances to them (ex: The Cupid Shuffle, The Wobble) he didn't just play the song - he got out on the dance floor and showed everyone how to do it! I have a few photos of Bryan dancing at my wedding :) My very favorite part was that we had discussed with Bryan the 2 songs we were deciding between for our 1st dance before selecting one, and when it came time for the last dance, he played the song we hadn't chosen for the 1st dance. I heard it come on, looked over and saw this huge grin on his face - he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Some of my best memories and favorite photos came out of that dance. We had heard a lot of great things about Pacific Entertainment and even had the opportunity to meet with Bryan in person and got a really great vibe. In the months leading up to the event, there was very limited communication and it was hard to get a hold of anyone if we had questions. We were told that Bryan was going to be our DJ, however the day of someone else showed up and he had let us know that there was a loss in communication and he was called in as a favor, not even as an employee of Pacific Entertainment, hours before our wedding which is not the most reassuring. The music part of our wedding was extremely important to us, so it was really disappointing that this was such a loose end and we never heard from Bryan to give us an explanation on what happened. Fortunately, we had made some very specific playlists, so the DJ that was there was able to just hit play, however our first dance song was a little wonky to start, the open dance had some questionable selections added in there, and it just felt really clunky the entire night. The DJ that filled in did the best he could under the circumstances, so I can definitely sympathize and don't fault him at all, but we were expecting a very different experience. read more

We were supposed to end our reception at 11pm, but people were still dancing at 11:30pm because of his song choices! Bryan far exceeded our expectations for our daughter's 16th birthday party. He kept the kids involved and dancing for three straight hours. He taught them dances and played games like name that tune. We can't say enough good things about Adam! We are seriously SO thankful that he was a part of our wedding day. A good DJ is hard to find, and an amazing one? Nearly impossible. EXCEPT with our DJ from Pacific Entertainment, Adam. He was MORE than amazing at our wedding. From every little detail to the overall flow of the event, he made it all possible and more than we could have imagined. He wasn't just our DJ he seemingly made our whole wedding come together. Adam spent a lot of time with us before the wedding going over what songs we wanted, how we wanted everything to flow, and in general simple things such as pronunciations and details to the wedding. My now husband and I were a bit unsure on our ceremony music and didn't really even know till the day of if we were going to be able to have the quartet we had hired come, but that didn't bother Adam at all, he was patient with us and had prepared backup music for our ceremony as well as contingencies for the quartet. Furthermore, throughout the evening, he checked in with us making sure we had the event flowing as we liked as well as making sure he was doing things in the timing that we wanted. I loved his dismissal game and the fact that we hadn't even asked him to, but he recorded the things people said as well as the toasts and sent them to us! Bryan Thrane was the DJ for our wedding at Stone Gardens in Fallbrook in July 2015. He was so awesome!!! He really dialed in our style (we're very picky) and created awesome playlists for dinner and dancing based off just a few examples. Not cheesy or cliche and very up-to-date with "what the kids are listening to these days." :) The dance floor was always packed! Getting ready for the day, he was always responsive and thorough about getting the info he needed and answering questions. His website is really handy--you can add songs to play or not play, track your balance, and make payments by card or paypal (super plus). He also provided some spotlighting and dance floor lighting, which looked great. He's also a great emcee, just the right amount of directing traffic but not looking for spotlight. As other reviewers mentioned, he was all about our needs for the night and came over several times to check in on how we were liking the playlist and if we had requests. This review is long over due! My wife and I got married on 11/14/14 and Bryan was our fantastic DJ that night. Bryan was so helpful from the moment we first spoke on the phone. He had a genuine and sincere interest to do whatever he can to truly make our wedding a special and memorable night.
