Most recently was my second time using Dixie Movers services. I was satisfied from that move, so I decided to use them again. I am very glad I did because again excellent service. The movers were so polite, efficient and took good care of my furniture. They wrapped everything that needed to be wrapped, including lamps, my bed, furniture and packed my clothes in wardrobe boxes. They even helped me move some items to bulk trash which was extremely helpful. There were some big pieces of furniture that I had concerns would be challenging to get through my new home's door because of the placement of my door, but they entered with no problem. Moved yesterday with Dixie Movers and can't say enough positive about them. They moved very quickly and efficiently. They packed things carefully and, most importantly, they read the labels on the boxes and put everything where it belonged! Even if something didn't have a label, they used their best judgement and got it right. I'm so used to moving and finding bizarre decisions, but not with these guys. This add on Yelp says site visit for Estimate when I called there is a lady picked up the phone speaking over you and want to charge you to score ON SITE VIST TO GIVE ESTIMATE On Yelp it does state they will come to your home to give estimate and over the phone the lady was very unprofessional and refused to send a site visit unless I pas 50$. Really now. How crazy is that. Basically false advertising BEWARE ! She was like what if you don't take the job we keep the 50$ lol. Dixie moved me twice now, once when I sold my house in Fort Lauderdale and moved my stuff to storage nearby, and then from storage over to Oakland Park when I found a new place. They professionally packed everything the first move and loaded it onto the truck, including dismantling my glass top table and dining room table and sectional couch, and loaded everything into storage in the most organized fashion. Then on 11/10, they arrived promptly at storage place, and loaded everything into the truck and followed me to my new townhouse, unloaded everything, and rebuilt my sectional and glass top table without issue. The items were in fantastic shape just like before the move. Both guys were great both times. This last time I had Leonard and one other gentleman that I cannot remember the name. Leonard was very pleasant and courteous. They were done with the 2nd phase of the move in less than 3 hours, and I got the cash discount as well. Not one item was scratched or damaged, and they managed to complete the move in a fast and organized manner. Our furniture was carefully wrapped in blankets and plastic, and then gently unwrapped after the move. We were stressed about the move but the team made sure we had nothing to worry about. We moved into a 4 bedroom townhome and they made sure that we knew where each box was so it would be easy for us to unpack. There were no hidden fees and every cost was upfront. Efficient, responsible, professional, perfect! This is the second time I've used Dixie. They tell you when they are about to arrive. Arrived on time. Three young men arrived Rohit..the leader, and Kirill and Prashanth got a survey of our stuff. Double checked the list and got moving. They were fast and really careful with all of our things. Rohit wrapped our furniture with care. Our bar has glass doors and he swaddled it like it was a newborn baby. Our king bed was taken apart with precision. Once we arrived at our destination, they asked where each box belonged, put all the furniture back together that they took apart with great care. I got a discount for using their services again and a discount for paying with Zelle. I will recommend them to everyone. Dixie is my one and only moving company. Will not use anyone else. My recent move from Fort Lauderdale to New York City using Dixie Movers was one of the best decisions I could have made during one of the most stressful times in recent memory. When my initial plans fell through, Dixie Movers came through in a real pinch. Within hours of realizing I needed a new moving plan, I requested and received a completely affordable quote from an office staff that was extremely professional, prefaced an experience that was as promised, as expected, and consistent from start to finish. I am not certain if they made special arrangements so that my move could be picked up on the date I requested at the time I requested and then be delivered on the date I requested at the minute I requested so that it would fit in with all the local restrictions at either end. When the Dixie movers workers came on the Saturday morning as promised several minutes EARLY, they came with TWO trucks ("just in case") and with four people ("just in case"), which ended up meaning that an entire apartment including a complete sofa set, complete bookcase, an entire bedroom seT, and several dozen boxes (including irregular-sized ones!) were all safely and thoroughly wrapped, moved within my house to the doorway and garage door, then outside onto the bigger truck without any drama whatsoever. I signed the official invoice in less than two hours from start to finish. One of the gentlemen who came to move my stuff that Saturday morning was the manager of Dixie movers, Michael. Once I learned that Michael and Paul (quiet, but focused, courteous, and a gentle "workhorse") would be the same people driving up my stuff and would be the ones responsible for reassembling it all, and leaving my apartment in New York City as if I had always lived there with my furniture from Fort Lauderdale, I knew everything was going to be okay. How? Because, from the moment that they got to my house to start packing everything onto the truck, the attention to detail that the entire team paid to my belongings, the house I was vacating, and my family, was outstanding, professional beyond expectation, and they were just really nice guys! Even though I didn't understand any of the Russian that they were speaking amongst themselves, it was very clear that they were listening to all our requests and that they were trying to do so as quickly, as unobtrusively, and as safely as possible. When they finished picking up my stuff on the of Saturday of my move, Michael and I discussed the possibility of delivering my furniture and boxes a day earlier in New York City so that we could take advantage of the dreaded "alternate side of the street" parking rules (which force cars to park on one side of the street while the street cleaners supposedly clean the streets) whereby eliminating half the already scarce places where one could park. We were originally scheduled to receive the move on Friday, but that would have meant that the Dixie Movers truck would have had to have parked across the street from my apartment building, whereby making the move slightly more difficult. This was a wish, though not what I had signed to on the original quote, so I was asking just to try and make everyone's lives better, but not because I was expecting this expedited service. Much to my pleasant surprise, I received confirmation on Sunday (24 hours later) that they would be making my delivery on Thursday (my building doesn't allow Saturday or Sunday moves :-( at the exact time (12:37pm, since the parking rules cleared at 1pm) that we needed the truck to park in front of my building so that they would not get a ticket and so that they would be lined up right by the service entrance with the moving ramp into the building. This attention to detail in order to expedite and facilitate everyone's experience during what is typically a stressful time was one of the things that I most appreciated from the Dixie Movers team. But that was one of so many great things Dixie Movers did for me. I am not exaggerating when I state that every single one of my 50+ boxes and pieces of furniture that were loaded onto the truck on Saturday were disassembled without any incident, damage to either the starting house or destination apartment, was reassembled in my new apartment in New York City, and they took all of the packing materials with them so that the only things left after they departed on Thursday (at 2:30 pm, so less than 2 hours!) were my furniture and my boxes. I know I'm going on and on about this experience, but it's only because I stumbled onto an incredibly pleasant surprise when I most needed the help in order to quickly move to a new city for an exciting new job.There were no negative surprises, but, ohh so many positive ones! Everything that I was told was going to happen happened exactly as promised, if not faster, earlier, and all with a smile.The price was right, the service was right, the people were the perfect ones, and the experience experience was the best! read more

The website provided a long form to fill out in order to get a quote. I received a quote over email many days later. It felt very impersonal so I called and explained my concern and that I had questions an online form simply doesn't answer. She finally agreed to set up a FaceTime walkthrough on a specific day. Nobody from Dixie ever called on that day. As a consumer I rarely have felt a business could feel less interested in taking my money or helping me. The reviews I see are very shocking to me. How did these people get human interaction? Is there a secret trick? I also felt in swing my quote that this business is asking a premium. Charging a premium for little to zero human interaction? We had an excellent move. We moved twice before in Fort Lauderdale with another mover and Dixie was far superior. After unpacking we found no broken or damaged items. The furniture and odd items, such as lamps were well protected. They packed on one day and moved the next in a single day across Florida. They worked really hard but did not cut corners even though it was late when they finished. We moved with a firm quote so delays did not bother us but their estimated times of arrival were always way off. They were a bit lax on wearing masks properly but they were working hard. There is no getting around being in a confined space with strangers hours on end, so I recommend opening windows and wearing an excellent mask yourself. read more

Artur, Alex and Ivan moved my 2-2 that was on the third floor with a small elevator to another 2-2 on the second floor with no elevator and they took care of it like champs!!! We had ZERO scuff marks left from the move which consisted of maneuvering large furniture pieces through narrow hall ways and not one broken item. I really don't know how they pulled that off. Unfortunately, my experience with Dixie Movers was not as great as the other reviewers. When I discussed the price with Dennis, he quoted me $280 for 2 hours plus $25 per 15 minutes of extra time, 2 men and a truck. My move was 4 buildings away within the same apartment complex. I provided him with all the details, a list of my large pieces of furniture and boxes plus offered photos. I told him I was moving from a second floor to a third floor, so a lot of stairs. When finalizing the appointment, he asked me for the furniture photos to reconfirm his quote. I sent him the photos and he confirmed the original $280 quote. I ended up paying $630....more than double. I was expecting the move to take maybe another 1.5 hours, but not 3.5 more than quoted. With their experience, they should know to be more accurate. If that isn't Bait and Switch, I don't know what is. Pros - On time - Came prepared with all materials needed - Protected most of the big of the big items with blankets - Friendly Cons - The 2 men they sent hardly spoke English (spoke Russian) so communicating was a challenge - Took several smoke breaks - Constantly asked for water - didn't bring their own - Worst of all, they made large scratches to my leather couch that they claimed were there before but were not. They even covered the areas they damaged with blankets to hide it. My couch had cat claw marks but nothing that large. They damaged it. I don't know how they have so many 5 stars but I suggest you are prepared to pay more and keep an eye on them. I learned from this mistake for my next move. read more

Dixie helped us to move from our single-story three bedroom house in Coral Gables to a two-story three bedroom house in Pinecrest and we couldn't be happier. First, they were right on time at 8:00 a.m. and as soon as they arrived they started to load the truck nonstop. They disassembled all the furniture and took every single item, even those things that were in plastic bags. The loaded everything really fast and with great care. Unloading was also very good. In my experience, unloading is a problem because the crew tends to be tired but not Dixie. The were almost as fast during loading and unloading. They did take a short 20 minute break on they way to they new house but I was not charged for that. I have used big name national companies in the past and Dixie was better by a long shot. The crew was very polite and clean. They took great care of all my things, nothing was broken, and they never complained. In total, the move took a little over 5 hours. read more
