We come here every single time we are in town and for good reason! No matter what we're looking to grill, we can count on Dixie meats. I recommend the best damn pork and the teriyaki or carne asada chicken. Major crowd pleasers. When it comes to steak, they have a great variety to choose from. The tenderloin is phenomenal. So is the ribeye. But don't sleep on the Denver cut. It might be my new favorite. It's marbled to perfection and each bite is as juicy as the next. We also get sides like the funeral potatoes and stuffed mushrooms. They have great salsa and homemade ranch. Seasoning and buns. Whatever you're looking for. I just wish they still sold the homemade pies that the owner's mom used to make. He's a great dude and always good to catch up with when we come. I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of meat I received here. I purchased two of the same cuts at the same time, handled them properly, and refrigerated them within 10 minutes of purchase. One piece was clearly fine, while the other was noticeably brown/black in color and smelled sour as soon as I opened the package. The difference between the two cuts was obvious. One looked fresh and red, the other looked oxidized and off. Meat should never have such a stark color difference, especially if you buy it at the same time and if it came in the same packaging. This wasn't an issue of storage or handling on my end. The meat was bad when sold, and that raises serious concerns about quality control and food safety. Given the price point and expectations of a butcher-style shop, this is unacceptable. read more

This place has a great selection of meats. The prices are comparable if not cheaper than the grocery market and quality is better! Will definitely be returning! They even had a fresh cooked jalapeño popper burger they let us sample and it was perfect! I don't like spicy and it was perfect! Thank you! Pics below so you can see what they have. Just discovered Dixie Meats recently. Great quality and fair pricing. Love their dill pickle jerky. Rib eye is fabulous. The grocery store butcher blocks can't compete. Also they have special seasonings and great side dishes and appetizers made fresh in store. Would recommend read more

First time in, butcher's and staff were super friendly and helped me with picking out a prime rib to toss on the smoker. Place has an old school vibe, like something out of a movie (in a good way) seemed to be a lot of return customers walking in, the staff knew people's names and that was cool to see. read more

Adam at Dixie meats is the biggest slime ball in St George!!! Last year(2024)) he Illegally held tips from all workers and told them he will pay them end of the year, which did not happen. He also talks negatively about his son( calls him a "F" face amongst other things) and wife(calls her slutty and all types of derogatory remarks) to his employees all the time and the employees don't have any HR to file complaints too. I was harassed there and made out to look like a problem. Hopefully someday Adams lies, unprofessionalism and disrespect for everyone, including his own family eventually catches up to him. I do not recommend bringing your family to an establishment that the owner will say 5 things negative about you right after you make your purchase and are out the door. read more

I'm from the Midwest. My parents are from Wisconsin which is pretty much the beer and brat capitol of the US so I know my brats. I came in here and ...wtf are those things? Those are like beyond league regulation brats! I have never seen one so massive..no guys, come one..I'm talking about the brats here. I stg that they are at least a 1/2 lb each. No worries on it not filling your bun! Normally I have no problem finishing a brat and on a really hungry hot summer day I might attempt a second? Dixie has the MOST AMAZING cuts ever. Driving thru with a crew on our way to Lake Powell, dripped in and loaded up. Top of the list- Cowboy Rib Eye Bone in- 2" cut OMG Regular Rib Eye- froze some, thawed out and we're unbelievably insane. New York - redonk. Beef Jerky- we got something like 10 bags. Kids were snarfing these like potato chips or m&ms. Tip: Reverse Sear- never heard or done this before - my new go to All Mountain state beefs. Was able to get out of there before I bought the store. Was Visiting on vacation with friends, and wanted to find some good steaks to grill. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety they had at Dixie meats. All of the steaks were well cut, and the meat was very well taken care of. The staff was knowledgeable when we had questions, and they have plenty of sides to go with the steaks. The burger selection was pretty awesome, and they had plenty of flavors for everyone. Would definitely recommend and make sure you come with an appetite because you're gonna want to buy a lot of meat when you come here. read more

Wonderful place!! Fantastic selection of meats, including some pre-seasoned or premade that are ready to throw on the grill or in the oven. I believe the meats are a higher grade than grocery store. We got a mix of sausages, such at German brats, kielbasa, and polish, some beautiful ckn breasts, NY strips and something called 'best d*mn pork' (and yes it is!). My husband is so picky about his steak and kept going on about the strip being the best he's had in years. They have some ready to cook sides as well, such as green bean casserole, loaded mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, etc so you can get your full meal there if u need. We stopped here on our way to spend Thanksgiving at Gooseberry Mesa and brought the smoker for camp. Picked up 16lb of brisket, a few ribeyes, and some brats. Meat was exceptional and Adam and team were beyond helpful and accommodating. Don't waste your time on Walmart meat if heading out to the Mesa...Dixie Meats is well worth the extra stop. read more

The best butcher store for meats EVER! Great quality, friendly owner and staff. I LOVE the cilantro tequila lime pork and the korean barbque cuts for grilling. They have great brats and sausages too. During COVID, you can wait outside and the owner comes out and takes your order and brings it to you. Their tri-tip is the only one that even comes close to the Santa Maria,CA tri-tip (founding town of the cut, tri-tip, and barbbque tri-tip). Accept no substitutions of tri-tip from other stores because it does not even come close to Dixie Meats. read more

Brats are the bomb, with a great snap. Blue Cheese is the favorite, the jalapeño has the right amount of heat and a great texture. The salsa is perfect balance of fresh and sweet! I don't know where they source their beef, but it is just outstanding. I've had a couple of Rib-Eyes from here (among other cuts) and they were to die for. I've had a lot of good steaks all over the country. I've lived in NYC and Los Angeles, I travel to wine and dine in Las Vegas frequently, and the cuts here are in my all time top five. If you like finding plastic in your brats/sausages and overhearing crass behavior from staff members while you shop, then Dixie Meats is the place for you. I've been shopping here for 8 months; the first time I found plastic in sausages I bought from D.M. I thought it was a one off thing, the second time I said to myself "but it tastes so good", the third time-NO, no more will I buy brats/sausages from this store. Behind the counter the owner runs a frat house atmosphere where staff members are constantly hazing one another; in that environment belligerent behavior is bound to spill over onto the occasional customer. Recently upon check out one of the staff members made disparaging comments-questioning the validity of my service (I am a veteran); upon my next visit to the store I respectfully tried talking to this staff member about the rub and possible misunderstanding-this employee responded by being extremely belligerent and disrespectful; many of his words were said to me right in front of the owner; the owner's response was to ask both of us to go outside. The owner's response spoke volumes in this situation, what I thought was a reflection of one bad apple appears more like a reflection upon the owner's behavior. Perhaps if his staff wasn't so busy mouthing off at each other, they'd notice the plastic wrappers and bottle caps that are falling into the spice mix containers that are then poured into the meat grinder for brat/sausage making; more likely, someone there is cutting corners and pouring the spices directly into the meat grinder. Beyond the beef jerky and sausages that occasionally have plastic in them, there isn't anything D.M. offers that can't be found elsewhere in town. Seasoning ground beef and marinating cuts of meat is something easily done by your own hands. I ask those reading this to ask yourself if you really want to support an owner who fosters a frat house environment for his staff to work in, and who allows staff members to belittle customers and the owner himself. I know I am only one person, but this one person will no longer spend money at Dixie Meats. read more

I make bone broth from the carcass of Dixie Meat's chickens plus add a whole chicken for depth. All the recipes say you must take the foam off of the broth as it cooks as the foam has the impurities from the animal. Using their chickens, I seldom get any foam, perhaps one tablespoon at the max and that might be from added turkey bones purchased elsewhere. Chickens from grocery stores produce a lot of foam. I buy all my chickens and my meats from Dixie Meats. read more

It's always great to support an independent business..but it's just an added bonus when it turns out that business is way better than any of the alternatives. We had Adam prepare a Prime Rib for our family Thanksgiving dinner.
