Docking station near the river near Michigan Ave.

Initial trying to use these things were confusing, I did my bike rentals from the app which showed random bikes in town as well as the hub stations. After not being successful getting random bike that I though was available I just got each bike from the hubs in the area. Divvy is part of Lyft so if you already have a Lyft account when you download the Divvy app it automatically connects you. The price for an e-bike was 18 cents per minute and a regular bike you get the first 45 minutes free (I think if you have the pink Lyft membership perks) then any additional minute after that is 18 cent. The docking stations are a bike of a pain in the ass to get the bikes back in and docked, but as long as you make sure it connects and locks you should have any issue getting over charged. I preferred the regular bike over the ebike because the e-bike sound like they're going to crumble anytime you go over a dip in the road, the regular bike make for a more comfortable ride through the city.

Sample of older bikes with no info.

I was unable to dock my bike (none were available and the single one was broken). So they want to charge me $112 for a 13 minute Ride. Then i went to find the bike, and THEY LOCKED MY ACCOUNT and threatened to charge me a lost bike fee. This is after i contacted their help IMMEDIATELY. I cant scan the bikes for the right number because they locked mt account and half of the older bikes have NO identifying number. I'm screwed.

I love Divvy!! I can't speak to how great it is to have a bike sharing program with lots of easily accessible docks throughout the city. When I was a student at University of Chicago, we got $15 off the annual membership using our school's discount code and it was such a steal! The membership paid for itself within a couple months! The addition of e-bikes was nice as well since it allowed for easier travel to places that might not have a bike dock within a couple blocks. It's very easy to take an hour or more casual ride along the lakefront because of how frequent the bike docks are. You can easily get about a half hour ride in and then dock and redock your bike to reset the timer. It works great for day passes and annual membership.

Do NOT recommend this since if you loose it, you will be penalized for 1200$ and they can't track their bike.

I ride my bike year-round, so I don't Divvy a ton, but whenever I do, it's super convenient and easy.

Listen, after being the one to pedal by bike and boat, I was going to take them up on their offer. It was $34.51 (including taxes) for an hour. Kind of steep but not so bad when you realize that there are three of us enjoying the quadcycle. While the staff were nice - and they really were - the directions on where to go weren't great. It was confusing where the path was and we ended up spending 20 minutes going away only to come back and ask for more details of where to go. They really should provide a map. Also, we had to ask them to remove the dead spiders and cobwebs we discovered while we were literally off the beaten path. Would we do it again? Yes. But pay close attention to where they say to go and, again, could've used a map. Also, be on the lookout for spiders, webs and other dirt and ask them to remove them prior to leaving the area.

Reservations not necessary though we were here in early May. We rented basic 3-speed bikes. Helmets are optional and included in the rental. Bikes either have baskets or a pouch in front. Higher grade bikes, electric ones, and Segways also available. Service was ok. My friend's seat adjuster had gunk on it. Please pay attention to maintenance. Luckily I had napkins on me. The employee who was not doing anything upon our return could have offered to keep the door open for us. Would consider coming again given the fair prices and convenient location.

That isn't always convenient, but it is a nice option to have. I really appreciate being able to watch the mechanic work since they do the work outside. If there is going to be a wait, the lakefront is a short walk and an enjoyable way to kill time. A few weeks ago I had the day off to bike around the lakefront. My bike was squeaking and rattling and needing a little care and saw there was no line there. The mechanic took a look, roughed up and adjusted my brake pads, and cleaned the wheel and inflated it. When I ask what I owed him, he didn't charge me anything. Just a straight up act of kindness on his part. I hope that good karma he put out comes back to him and this place.

Huh?, please put my original tire back on and ill go to Kozy on the other side of lake shore Dr. Begrudgingly agrees to put my tire back on. I try and petal, the bike doesn't work. He says there is a problem with back axle. I said please just put it back as it was when I arrived, ill go to Kozy. He said I'm not listening. "if you can just make it petal so I can get to Kozy." repeats I'm not listening. Then tells me he has to charge $10 for his time. All true. I walked to Kozy on Halsted, had my bike working in 20 minutes. WARNING: run from this place, he is a bicycle butcher. He doesn't know what he's doing. BE CAREFUL here.
