Motoworks has Vespas, so I went there. This place is high end and they clearly expect high end customers but I'm a teacher and not rich, so I hoped for some financing, much as I might if I bought a car. Motoworks encourages you to apply for financing online with a soft pull to your credit, and make an appointment beforehand to visit the showroom, so I arrived expecting an easy go of it. Happy to report sales people were enthusiastic about all their bikes when I got there, and never tried to upsell me. I appreciated that there was space to make decisions. Getting started was fine, and picking out the bike was positive. Nina encouraged me to try out different bikes on the floor until I felt comfortable, and I felt good about the bike I picked. All the people on the floor were friendly and helpful. Then things got weird. I sat around for two hours waiting to hear about financing paperwork for a 5k purchase. Nobody there gave me any insight about interest rates, expectations for money down, or even quoting a price besides the sticker amount. I was finally presented with a printout where they financed half if I paid cash for the other half, on the spot. Purchase price by then was up to 9k after taxes, freight fees, and a murky $800 "maintenance package" that had no details on paper. I wanted to leave the shop and come back the next day with my ducks in a row about the 4K cash from me, but of course they don't want you to leave. Finance lady suggested I ask the "gal" I came in with to help pay with a card. Then she asked if we were married, and told me it was OK to ask my wife to help me pay because our money was shared anyway. Thankfully my "gal" did step up with a second card, but it was an awkward surprise that didn't need to be so weird and nervy. At that point Finance lady was feeling ill, so Finance man came in to finish the sale. Finance man spoke curtly to me about parking bike on street. Finance lady offered me theft program. Why? Did they assume I lived in a bad neighborhood because I parked on the street? Plenty of people park scooters on the street all over Chicago. By now I am thoroughly rattled. After that I finally walked out and got the bike. Bike is stunning and peppy. Sales people were kind as I left. Financing guy provided registration and a plate for me to drive home with. Nina filled the bike with gas, showed me how to use the key, gave me a tee shirt, and gave me a hug before I drove off. Great stock, huge shop, and outstanding salespeople, but do your own financing before you go pick out one of these spectacular bikes.

I felt like a team was taking care of me, not an individual salesperson. The sales price was better than I found anywhere else. The ease and transparency of traveling from New York to pick up the bike at their Chicago location was greatly appreciated. They even arranged to deliver the bike to my son's house in the western suburbs at no additional charge. Nothing but nice things to say about my experience. And what a great bike. I feel like I got sold unneeded liability insurance - I thought they said it was included in the VIP insurance package I bought. Several people including me did not get the bike they requested. Plus the Street Glide I got had a horrible windscreen that had bad distortion in the top third - very annoying and dangerous. It also did not have a heel shifter that they come standard with. The place seemed overrun by two tour groups plus a third small group renting bikes. Not the personal service we had received for previous ER tour pick ups.

They also upgraded me from a Bolt to Street Bob, which made for a much better ride. Had a blast putting a few hundred miles on the bike and seeing the sights. The job was done properly and I have been riding on these new tires for about a month now with no issues. The price for the tire change was lower than what I was quoted by other motorcycle shops. SCAM! The website says 350 a day. I get there and they tell me it's 550 because of the holiday. The…read moreholiday is Memorial Day which is tmrw. My rental date was for Sunday. Apparently they celebrate multiple days. They then said an extra 100 because it's an R type, which does say so on the website and is why I got type LE. I was told "well LE means R" even though the other vehicles actually say R type. I cancelled and they're keeping my $100 deposit. I'm all for supporting small businesses but not this one.

First time renting a motorcycle from Eagle Rider. I flew into ORD Airport and noticed the sunny…read moreweather so decided to rent something a little more fun than a car. I used the Eagle Rider website to reserve the Harley motorcycle and picked the bike 30 minutes later. Employee Danny Brown had the Street Glide ready to go. Danny gave a good overview of all the bike features, helped me pair my phone with the Bluetooth stereo on the bike, and even provided some direction to get me to where I wanted to ride. I have been a Member of Eagle Rider for a few years now. Originally I joined so that I could get…read morean idea of what type of motorcycle I enjoyed riding before I just went off and purchased one. I do a lot of research before I purchase large ticket items and I thought that by having a lot of different rental options I could narrow my new motorcycle purchase down. The reason I still have not purchased a motorcycle is that the service at my local Eagle Rider Facility has been exceptional. Danny Brown, the manager, has always been exceptional with his communication. If he can accommodate a last minute rental request he will do what he can to assist. If my first choice is not available he will work to get me something to ride. With that said all of the Eagle Rider Rentals are top quality newer model bikes. Nate is friendly,…read morehelpful, and genuinely intellectually engaged when it comes to keeping scooters running and performing well. He was always ready to find parts for my 2014 Stella, and kept her running at top speed for years. They sell and service Buddies and all kinds of other brands as well. You can ride by with any question or issue and somebody will help you right away. Sometimes they'll even work on your scooter while you wait. They always try to save you money, and will wait on things they could easily collect for if they think you don't need them done yet, like tuneups or new batteries. I store my bike here every winter, and they have all the maintenance done when you pick up in spring. They don't sell Vespas, sadly, but they do service them, and I can't recommend them highly enough. They are real cycling enthusiasts.

I bought a scooter in poor shape off Facebook marketplace and they made sure it was safe and running for a reasonable price. The shop is always nice, clean, organized, and dare I say... fun?! I'm going to keep coming back here and get work done for both my and my girlfriends scooters - I cannot recommend them enough!
