Such a fantastic shop! Both my husband and I have had work done by Scott & we are both very pleased. My piece was fairly simple script work, along with a small emblem designed by Scott with my husband's initials. I love it! The design was perfect; he worked with me to make sure I loved it. My husband's design was a bit more intricate; he had an idea in his mind, but couldn't get it on paper. Scott worked with him to make sure it was exactly what he wanted, and it turned out better than either of us ever imagined. We'll certainly go back. They're not the best with communication, but you can be sure you'll walk out with a piece you love. read more

I've never had any tattoos before, so I was really nervous about everything. I've been in tattoo/piercing shops before and I've always felt a little weird due to snobby front desk people and bad attitudes in general. This place is NOT like that. I made my first appointment for a consultation with Scott LaMadline after seeing his outstanding portfolio online. He emailed me back with his thoughts on my concept and seemed really excited about it. The consultation was good, and he had a sketch done about a week later and it was even better than I imagined. The atmosphere of this place is unlike any other shop I've been in. It's casual and has an art gallery feel to it. The entire place is filled with original artwork and awards won by the artists. The girls working at the front desk are super friendly and helpful about setting up appointments. I've had three 4-5 hour sessions with Scott so far and every time I've been more impressed than the last. We just started doing color on the lower half of my sleeve and it's incredible. He is very friendly and professional. He's doing a piece that is a memorial for my pets that have passed. When he got done coloring in one of my ferrets it actually made me tear up a little bit. He really is that good. Nothing but good experiences here. I wouldn't think of going to another place in Phoenix for any of my future work. It's a little on the expensive side, but I think when it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap, tacky tattoo that won't hold up over time, go somewhere else. If you want beautiful, quality work this is the place for you. read more

I recently had my first (and only) tattoo at age 67. Dan Mattingly was my artist and he was fabulous. I gave him a picture of my beloved dog who had recently died and his work in reproducing that picture on my arm was flawless. My tattoo came out exactly as I had hoped it would The store is clean, the staff professional and friendly and the whole process was not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. I had a really awful experience at this shop. Some of the staff was incredibly rude, the rest were kind, and far more professional than the owner. I over heard one of the staff refer to a person of color by a slur while I was there. When I called and kindly and politely asked about some issues I had with my tattoo and maybe getting my money back to pay another artist to fix it (because at this point I did not feel comfortable allowing one of their staff do the work.) When I came in I was told I could come in for up to year for free touch up's. The manger/owner was very rude and condescending I even told him "sorry that maybe I was misinformed, but please stop speaking down to me." He than just hung up on me. The manger explained "it was my responsibility, and my problem." My advice is take your time to find a shop where they are willing and able to help you if you have any issues with the work that was done. The manger said to me "You wanted to be taken care of all the way through that's not how this works." I recorded our conversation and I am happy up load it. He was right I did expect more concern about my issues and help. The tattoos I got were part of my culture and very sacred unfortunately to westerners tattoos have no meaning hence the "its your problem attitude." This shop does not respect other peoples cultures or people of different ethnicity its very much about the money and greed at this shop. The shop is full of Buddhist symbols and objects yet the owner seems to be a crude and prejudice man, the shop generates more then enough in profit to refund me.When I tried to call back my calls were ignored; So I called on another number of course it was picked up immediately; at that point I just wanted the paper work for my records. This was a great learning experience for me about western culture and how greed rules them. Some of the staff was professional and listen to my issues and I appreciate them for that. read more

I've been coming to this shop for years now. I love How clean and professional the shop is. Being in a customer service based business myself; I appreciate the level of communication between the shop and myself. The shop is run like a well oiled machine and is high class. (No shady people or tools or cheapness) Each artist I've had the pleasure of meeting while being tattooed are as equally professional and nice. My artist is Dub and he is truly an artist. I've been working with him on a full sleeve and I've yet to find anything to complain about. I give him simple preferences on what I'm thinking and his creativity takes over. I don't even need to look at a stencil before he begins to tattoo because the level of trust I have in his talents is high. I know he will never give me anything he wouldn't be proud of. Although my tattoo isn't done I am constantly being asked where I get my ink and who does my art. I get stopped all the time for people to look at my arm. That speaks volumes of his artwork and capabilities. I can't say enough and if you are looking for something permanent on your body that is beautiful; HE IS WORTH EVERY DOLLAR! I'm excited to see my finished product because I know it will be exactly what I wanted! read more

I went to get a tatto from nathen, and after he totally screwed it up he was no help in fixing it . He is a terrible artist that should not be tattooing. As for the owner he said he would fix it but he would charge me full price by him. Very dispeased with the service there and I wouldnt recomend that shop to anyone. read more

Got the itch for a tattoo the day after Christmas. Walked in and was greeted by Eric.Told them what I was looking for and not one employee "jumped" on the opportunity to take a walk-in. They directed me to the artist portfolios and said to look at them then decide on an artist based on the work I liked. That right there sold me. Just so happened that the work I was most impressed by turned out to be the artist (Eric) that greeted me. I even had to ask who's work it was before being told it was his. I am heavily tattooed in black and gray and his contrast with deep black and white was incredible. I am a huge proponent of "you get what you pay for" but I found the rate to be very reasonable after hearing others complain that Divinity is expensive. I got my first tattoo here this past week. I had an idea I wanted to run with for years, but never bit the bullet. I finally decided it was time, so I did my research and kept coming back to Divinity. I was already familiar with them prior, but once I started looking around for myself, it was clear this was the choice for me. I looked at the artists portfolios and loved Paolo's work, so I decided to try and get in with him. I was fortunate enough to get a consultation appt with him, we discussed my concept, he right away knew where i was going and had some ideas that I absolutely loved, so we scheduled my appt for about 2 months out. For a first tattoo, I went with something on the larger side, and pretty detailed, so my nerves were through the roof when I went in. But it honestly could not have been any easier. Paolo's drawing was spot on to what I wanted. He was super cool about everything. The place was spotless. We chatted most of the time, and I couldn't have been more comfortable given the circumstances. It was a 4 hour session, and the time honestly flew by. I have to go back for one more appt to do the color after all heals. Even a few days later, I can honestly say it has not been at all uncomfortable. And it looks SICK! I can't even imagine how amazing it will be once the color is done. Long story short - I would recommend Divinity to anyone, first tattoo or 100th. Everyone else in the shop was super cool, helpful, friendly. Although this was my first tattoo I've been to several other places since all of my friends are covered in ink, and I can say this place is definitely a gem.
