Someone close to me gave me a gift certificate for Eagle River Tattoo. I was surprised to learn they only do business over Instagram. So I DMed some artists who I thought could be fun to work with. One artist agreed to get me in and make a plan, that was a couple of months ago and I have yet to hear back. I came by the shop in person today and kindly requested a refund which was denied. I am really upset by how this was handled after hearing such good things about this place. Edit: After the review Debra reached out and granted me the refund, cleared up the miscommunication (they do not operate strictly over Instagram) and was rather apologetic. While I haven't had any work done here, I can say that I am willing to give eagle river tattoo the benefit of the doubt and may return for my next piece (with a different artist). read more

I have had by only tattoos done here by Don. The first one I was soooo scared of possible pain I was shaking! I think I was 59 years old. Don very gently walked me away from the ledge! He went slow and explained everything well so I felt pretty comfortable. His artwork is amazing. Surprise ... It didn't even hurt! I got my second one there as well and they are both beautiful. I get a lot of compliments on them, especially on the coloring. I doubt I'd ever go anywhere else. I've got 2 more already planned in my head! read more

They're all super nice in there. Nick's who did my tattoo. He's great, gentle, and entertaining. They're all super willing to work with your budget and free touch ups for life! I absolutely love em. Don & Debra have done close to 100 hours or so on me and they are two of the few artists I have the upmost respect, trust, and admiration for. I am extremely picky on who it is that works on me. I got my first tattoo by Don done about a year and half ago then two more last December. To say Don is amazing is an understatement. His work is amazing. My tattoos still look bran new today, a year later. He's got more years of experience then I am alive and that is a feeling you can't beat! He is so helpful and very honest. He did all five of my mothers tattoos also and they are nothing but perfect. I moved to Oregon four years ago for school but now I no longer return home for breaks. I emailed Don asking his help for tattoo artists in Oregon that he would recommend (I wanted someone like him). He was nothing but helpful. I found a guy who his shop and him remind me of Don, its a great feeling. Thanks to Don I now can get tattooed here I'm Oregon. I had some preparatory artwork being done here for a big project. Thankfully, we never made it that far. The "artwork" that was presented to me was terrible. I gave many pictures, print-outs, and examples of what I wanted, and described my concept in detail. Still, you would not believe how poor the quality of their sketches were. I tried working with them over a number of appointments, and they never improved. Eventually, I just declined to have the work done there. Regardless, I was charged hundreds of dollars for their preparatory 'art.' It is surprising - they display a complete lack of artistic capability and competence, and yet they still collect money from people. It was obvious to me that the artist was not concerned with quality, just getting my money and getting me out the door. I have seen the art of two of the three artists there. The final result? The clients of those 'artists' are having their tattoos professionally removed at their own expense at the cost of thousands of dollars. Just because someone CAN put a tattoo on you, doesn't mean they should. Look around. Find a REAL artist. Find someone who has real artistic capability, not just someone who can trace a line with a tattoo machine. Go somewhere worthy of your time and money. read more
