This message is for management: I love Clean Slate tattoo. I have a tattoo from Jess which I love, and I know many people who have gone here and have had nothing but pleasant experiences. However, my first unpleasant experience here was with one of your apprentices, Dani. Before I continue, I want to make it clear that I'm not tryna be a Karen. But the apparent lack of unprofessionalism that I experienced in booking with her really upset me, and I wanted someone in charge to know about it. To make it brief, I scheduled an appointment with Dani, and I was told the day of my appointment that she was double-booked, and that I would have to reschedule. I completely understood, and we rescheduled. Later that day, I saw on her Instagram (I followed her on everything prior to scheduling) that she had gotten a beautiful thigh piece, and tattooed an old friend of hers that day. Now, I'm not certain that she got her tattoo that same day that we had to reschedule, but that is what it looked like to me. It looked like we had to reschedule not because she was "double-booked", but because she wanted to get a tattoo, and tattoo her friend. Even if that isn't the case, how everything was presented was still very unprofessional, and I wish she had been more mindful about me as a follower, and a potential client. I decided ultimately to cancel my appointment because I was salty about the whole ordeal, and didn't want to go into a tattoo appointment upset with the artist. I'm not one to write bad reviews unless something really infuriates me, and this one made the books. I don't believe it is professional to tell clients (especially as an apprentice) that you are double-booked, and then post pictures of you tattooing your friend, and getting a tattoo yourself. I was super excited to see what she had come up with for my tattoo, but this whole experience put a really sour taste in my mouth both towards her, and towards Clean Slate. I hope that this does not happen to any of her future potential clients. read more

well...I wanted a mermaid...After going back in with photograph and asking if they could do it I was assured they could. When I showed up for the appointment the "mermaid" they drew was a face only. She then showed me a mermaid she had drawn and said it would be $100. more for it. I went ahead and said yes because my daughter was getting a tattoo also and I didn't want to just sit there for a couple of hours. I thought they based their prices on time, so when my daughters tattoo which was cheaper than mine was finished at about the same time as mine I felt cheated. When I went back and asked if they could refund my extra $100 I paid, and pointed out the flaws, she said I made her feel uncomfortable and told me they would not ever tattoo me again! I was nice I swear and it was not like it was my first tattoo. I think that was terrible customer service. read more

Without question Clean Slate turns out some of the best work Alaska has to offer. There is nobody I would recommend more than Mindy and her crew. Not only are they amazing artists but their professional, easy to talk with for hours, creative beyond belief and understand their clients. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't have any idea of how tat shops use to be especially in the Valley and their probably spoiled, pretentious little know-it-alls who've watched Ink Masters or read Pinterest and think their all of a sudden  experts. I went and got a tattoo with nataile and she was nothing but rude and nasty the whole time which mad the whole experience terrible and I will never go back and tell all my family and friends to STAY AWAY FROM CLEAN SLATE and the tattoo she gave was subpar at best just such a disappointing experience if you hate you job so much maybe you should find something else to do.
